It never ceases to amaze me how you find so many diverse photos of old time trucks. Your colorizing and themes, and the music you add, make for fantastic documentation of the development of modern trucks. The memories these videos invoke along, with the imagining of what those times were like, takes me on the journey with the drivers of those unique rigs. Thank you for these precious visions of our trucking culture.

I started out driving for Schneider . That's how I learned. I drove a 1988 International cab over and it had a really big sleeper in the back , of course you had to climb up into it because it was a cab over but it was awesome and I really enjoyed the hack out of that truck I could park it anywhere but I moved on with very good skills behind me .800000 incident free miles.🇺🇲 thumbs up to that 👍. Drive safe truckers.🤞

I grew up around trucking and never tire of these videos. One thing is that to me the tires on these rigs look bigger than on trucks today. Doubt they are,they just look larger

An other classic Thor. I remember when I was 21. Driving a cabover dodge in Pennsylvania with a 250 Cummins. a truck passed me going up a steep grade. I thought man look it that new truck. Got to truckstop and he was parking. I went up to him and said it’s that a new Kenworth. He said it ain’t new it’s a 1958. Completely restored. Never forgot that. Likely 1976. Keep the videos coming.

Some of the sleepers were pretty awful. Cramped and separate from the cab . In Europe they were very bad up to the late 70s when they got more spacious and over night heating became popular. Some of the worst nights of my life were spent in bad sleepers.
@Wildstar40
@Wildstar40 Год назад
On the bright side things were a hell of a lot cheaper back then. Independent truck drivers had a chance to make a profit. Less rules, less regulations, less people equal less traffic on the roads. The price of diesel fuel way way less than the price of gasoline. Yeah these days they sure do have nice sleepers but at a much greater cost all around.
