@@debodatta7398 its not she is misinformed, tbh many people those day do throw fish head curries, i aint lying, from my grandma to my relatives, even many of my friends have shared with me. But now, they keep it
I plan to visit next month and would love to visit Samy's Curry. Where in Singapore is your Restaurant located. I would greatly appreciate a reply & also would like to know if there are any places that cook Hoppers called Appam in Sri Lanka, Kerala & Madras.
Samy’s curry - 25 dempsey road, Singapore 249670 For appam, you can visit Little India in Singapore and there are many shops there selling appam. Quite easy to find
All these comments on the authenticity of the food's origin when the taste of the food is much more important. One needs to understand that the restaurant need to cater for the majority of it's customers request first and foremost, and not blindly clinging on to the past.
I ate Muthu Curry and Banana Leaf restaurant , the only restaurant that catches my stomach is Samy Restaurant, their Fish Curry and Masala Chicken is not very spicy and easy on my stomach .
Exactly man... Every time I mention that I like South Indian (Tamil) or Sri Lankan (Tamil) food, there will be the clueless, especially the Singaporean Chinese, who will quip "Fish Head Curry", "Prata" or "Putu Mayam" and I would have to educate them about South Indian (Tamil) and Sri Lankan (Tamil) food, their differences, the actual names of the food and their origins. Add to that some clueless Indians and Malays as well.
Get your facts right before speaking out in media, fish head curry came to singapore from kerala read the straitstimes article below www.straitstimes.com/singapore/the-man-behind-fish-head-curry
Nonsense. Read the article you posted again clearly. It didn't come to Singapore from Kerala. The man came to Singapore from Kerala. He created the dish in Singapore to appeal to the Chinese who considered the fish head a delicacy. Shame on you.
singapore indian invented fish head curry. in india, nobody eat fish head previously because fish head is considered a lousy part of a fish. no much meat but singaporean chinese like fish head, considered it a delicacy. i heard there are fish head curry now after singaporean indian introduced them to india tamil nadu.

lol. This is a joke. I am from South India, and my mom makes fish head curry every sunday. We use the fish fillets for fry. She should not be making comments she doesn't know.
@@aniraz90s Yes, Not my mom but my Grandmother cooks fish head curry and I have heard her say that her mom did the same. My mom learnt from her. So I guess, we can say that fish head curry has been around for generations.
rina aniraz it's a South Indian dish..In Kerala every resturant serves this and it's not a new thing...the head curry was the staple curry of the Poor in India and now the status quo changed 😄.
