The older the car, the more rewarding I seem to find detailing them! Enjoy the process of bringing this classic back to its best.

I’ve detailed this actual car a few times. Belonged to a friend of mine. Paint on it is very delicate as it was last repainted back in the late 1990’s It had a light ceramic coating on it way back in 2018 but after the owner that I did it for passed away in 2020 it wasn’t properly maintained and had suffered. I detailed it again in 2021 prior to its sale no ceramic coating was applied it was only sealed and waxed. I know this car very well. So glad it’s looking how it should again. Well done

I also know the car very well I owned it for around 25 years and re built it/painted it . It's painted in cellulose I did it in my garage in 1996. So no not one bit is original paint it's painted in standox . God it's got the wrong wheels and mirrors . Just why !

The P6B V8 is a fabulous car, it was well ahead of it's time in many areas- especially in terms of safety, it was the safest saloon on the road back in the 70's. It was also a super saloon- fore runner to the BMW M5 concept. When the 3500S manual was launched, it hit 60 in 9 seconds dead- and 125 mph, which was very rapid back in 1969/70. An E-Type hit 60 in 7 seconds and did 140 (true) mph, and was regarded as a 'super car.' The P6 still does some things better than any modern car- it's ride quality is sybaritic- like riding a magic carpet. Visibility is superb- far better than a modern lump. Ergonomics a superb- especially for the era, when many manufacturer's tended to get a box of switch gear and throw it at the dash. Where it landed- it got fitted! LOL The P6 has perfect 50/50 weight distribution, and a sophisticated De Dion rear tube suspension- which companies like Aston were using at this time. The traction and grip of the P6 is superb- especially for a car of this era. Braking? Discs all round- very effective- no need to pussy foot around and forward plan for braking like you do in so many classic cars. The P6 is one of the easiest classics to use as a daily driver. I own a 3500 like this one- auto, Mexico brown, it's an absolute gem to drive and every journey has a 'sense of occasion' about it. It oozes class with lots of stainless steel and chrome. Ask yourself this question- If you buy a modern 'prestige' car today, where is the 'quality?' Chromed *plastic* doesn't constitute quality. You can park a P6 up next to anything today, and the car snob in you will relish looking down your nose at the soulless moderns with plastic bumpers and fake chrome- which even Bentley's come with today. The buying public are being mugged off- with plastic shit, dull styling and far too much complexity- sensors galore- very expensive when they start letting go. About five years ago, 'Practical Classics,' magazine took a P6 over to Belgium, and they handed it over to the team of judges who judge the Europen Car Of The Year Award. The P6 was the first car to win that accolade. The judges raved about the P6 in the recent assessment. They highlighted the superb ride, brilliant ergonomics, taught handling, excellent traction, fantastic visibility and ease with which it can be positioned on the road. They loved it's solid, well engineered feel and summed up by saying, "The Rover P6 still does some things better than any modern car. We haven't progressed very far since the 1960's."

Beautiful. My dad had the 3500S in monza red....loved it. BTW it's a 1972, not a 1977 lol

SNAP! My father had a 3500S in tobacco brown like the car above. I loved it as a child, and now I own a 3500 auto. I bought it as a classic 'stop gap' whilst a Capri I own was having a bare metal respray- took two years. I bought the P6 with the plan of running it for two years and selling it. 6 years later, I cannot part with it. I've done 10,000 during that time, much of it on touring holidays- North Yorkshire, Northumberland, Cotswolds, Lincolnshire, Shropshire. It's a superb touring car and more comfortable than a very nice XK8 I own. Every where I take the P6, it always draws attention and favourable comments. For my money, only one saloon of the era had a very marginal edge over the classy P6B- the 4.2 XJ6- it must be the 4.2 though. The P6 will eat a 3.4 and humiliate a 2.8. The P6 is one of the greatest, and most cleverly engineered British saloon, no doubt about it- it's a class act.

Tobacco brown- my father had a 3500S in this hue. I was 7-9 years of age when we had it, and got most disgruntled when some of my peers called it, "poo brown." lol I own a Mexico brown P6B 3500- fantastic motor to drive.

This is my old rover of around 25 years,i rebuilt it and painted it in cellulose paint so yes it's thin no clear coat should be on the car! The rear deck panel was always a pain dropping back . Good to see it's still around all be it heavily modified😮! Shame for such a rare car /trim
