The Oldest Fighting Style in the Soul Society: Kido Strongest Techniques! 

Im probably reaching but heres my theory about Kido. Back before the original sin the original realm was tumultuous and people lived in fear of the pit of hell and hell demons. So before they had any Shinigami tech like Zanpaktous they needed to be crafty and invent spells and this is why Kido is also referred to as Demon Arts. Because these were the first techniques they used before they were properly even called Shinigami. And the same with Hell Butterflies. They were Shinigamis first method of stealthily communicating while amidst other Demons.

Also, Isshin used Danku when protecting Masaki from White's self destruction trigger!

I like the suggestion that Kido relies heavily on the power of the Names, which is present in Bleach, and that the texts and the name of the discipline - demonic art - raise some suspicions that Kido may be connected to the original world on the abyss, now called hell. Imagine all these Kido's literally appealing to some transcendent entity from Hell that is the systemic factor for all this magic. That would be awesome

i've always thought that Ichibei could actually be the founder of Kido since its power is so directly tied to names and incantations, which is Ichibei's main thing. Even his black mausoleum technique feels a bit like a divine-class kidou technique and comes with its own full incantation, and of course he apparently knows a secret branch of kidou nobody else has access to (not even someone like Aizen, who 100% would have flexed using one of those spells had he known them) which implies he is the highest tier kidou user in the whole story. As others have noted in other comments it also seems like it likely was the primordial shinigami art, or potentially dates back to the old world...and Ichibe is the only active being we know of who was around in those times as well...

Perhaps kurotsugi is a banned spell within an area where casualties may pop up

I think the problem with Kido is that main fighters dont use it or too much or the characters that do, barely fight. Ichigo can't use them. Kenpachi refuses to use it. Renji sucks at Kido. Toshiro barely use them. Only Rukia and Byakuya use them frenquently. Mayuri would feel alike a character that would use them but he uses more his own tech and poison/chemicals. Kisuke and Yoruichi/Sui-Feng are the closest fighter that use Kido.

The binding types will always be the most prominent especially since we were introduced to them early on. More since they leave one restrained and vulnerable to follow up attacks. Great video here Simo.

What’s interesting is that the two most exceptional kido masters (Aizen,Urahara) don’t use healing kido on themselves. Therefore I think there must be some sort of compatibility to a certain aspect of the art. There’s a entire unite divided in offensive and supportive kido techniques.

I believe kido existed during primordial world before bleach universe. I don’t know who was the inventor of kido but I believe kido spells originally used for sinners from hell for punishment. Bakudo spells are for restraining sinners so that they can’t escape from hell and hado spells are for torturing them while being restrained by any bakudo spells. But the thing is why kubo never mentioned the founder of kido spells and not in zero division since we have Ichibei (who names everything), Nimaiya (zanpakuto creator), Kirinji (inventor of healing), Kirio (grain ruler), and Senjumaru (inventor of shihakusho). Hopefully it will reveal in hell arc if possible.

I think it's unfortunate that after "Turn Back the Pendulum" we don't have any named examples of Kido Corps members, let alone Tessai and Hachi's successors. We could have gotten so much more kido examples had they played a role in the Battle of Karikura Town or the Thousand Year Blood War.

this to me is one of bleach most WASTED potential , i find it crazy. how is it there has not been ONE captain that is a master hado and kido? master it to a point where it mixed with there sword techniques so well , its almost not possible to fight without them! i also find it crazy they still saying these long incantations to use these moves at the highest levels? aizen legit skipped these and went straight to the casting! like no other captain is on this level? crazy waste , this one of my fav aspect of bleach i love when they use these
