Very nicely done and Yes even our Santa Fe weather is Strange all the time. Snow in May has become the norm the last 5 years or so. The best time to come when it's warmer is end of May- September. Hope you'll stop by again.

I'm certainly enjoying going along for the ride on Route 66, to some places I've been, and others I've never seen. Watching your videos is the most fun I've had watching TV since Howdy Doody went off the air in 1960, and I really was watching that day! I look forward to your new offering every day. Entertaining, informative, and funny stuff. Keep it coming!

That's crazy! I'm in Wisconsin which get's -20°F temperatures in the winter and we never get snow in May. Especially a week away from June. 0_o It's been a cold late spring here too. But we still managed upper 50's to low 60's. And now were consistently near 70°F.

In Santa Fe, they have the Staircase built without nails. The story behind that is amazing. It's in the Notre Dame looking church by the La Fonda. The La Fonda is also supposed to be haunted. The hotel in Las Vegas, NM right there in the Plaza is also haunted. I've stayed at that one before and it is awesome!

I really like the idea of the holes in the found with the peek-through glasses! That means they must have found the stuff exactly in that one spot and didn't dare move it somewhere else. I love that! The displays of that other?same? museum in 8:16 is absolutely stunning. I don't know, I love dim-lit museums. It puts me into a trance hahah. hahah, no I agree! Death masks could be the back up if all photographs are wiped out haha. We all get a little lost sometimes! Congrats for finding y our way out, hahah. Now you have a higher possibility of figuring out of confusion more quickly! Thanks again for another upload! We'll be looking forward to the next adventure with you! And we hope you feel better by now!!

check out the missions in Texas. there is one from the 1500's that was lifted off its foundation during a flood and they left it where it landed. that's wild. of course, the age of the missions is amazing, being from the 16th and early 17th centuries, but the most visually appealing is the San Xavier de Balc just south of Tucson. it wasn't built til the 1790's, but it's stunning to look at.

Try and find “The Musical Highway.” Take exit 175 off of Route 14, located about an hour south of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and you’ll find yourself on Route 333-(old Route 66). Drive at 45 mph on this 1,300 ft. stretch of Route 66 and your tires will play “America the Beautiful".

I was wondering how it could be older than anything in the oldest city in US (St. Augustine) but apparently the building structure is no longer standing for the St. Augustine church...but St. Augustine does have the oldest Oldest Continuous Church Congregation....was going preface it as a fun fact but, really I know how much fun that fact is.....

FYI, chain mail is properly called just mail. From what I understand, that it's made of chains or interlocked metal rings is implicit in the name. TLDR, mail is not another word for armor, it's a form of armor. As for weight, from what I understand it's not too bad since they would have worn a belt with the mail which would take some of the weight off of the shoulders. What would have been bad was the padding they would have worn underneath and given that it was a full mail hauberk they would have worn not only a padded jacket (gambeson) but padded pants as well. Mail by itself doesn't protect you any against blunt force trauma so they would have worn a padded garment underneath which would have been made of multiple layers of quilted material. Just imagine wearing the equivalent of several layers of heavy wool or cotton blankets as a jacket and pants on top of your regular clothing, in the middle of the New Mexico summer. Btw, I have a suggestion for your next road trip, you need take a road trip along the old California trail, or as much of it that still exists. I recently came back from a road trip through the northern part of Nevada (Carson City and up) and it was really nice up there, a far cry from the Las Vegas area of the state and the old California trail passes near that region. There's actually a nice little museum near the city of Elko that deals with the California trail and its history, including the ill fated Donner Party.

I call bull on this one. Contrary to the implication, people built homes in north America prior to the Europeans arriving. The oldest still standing (and occupied) homes in the USA may be the pueblos belonging to various southwest native groups. Some of them have been lived in since about AD 750. So the home in this video isn't the oldest house in the US by around 900 years or so.

I assume you are indicating that the oldest house in the US is explicitly excluding independent indian nations ;) Oldest continuously occupied house is in Third Mesa on the Hopi Indian reservation in Arizona - Circa 1,100 AD However you are touring the oldest continuously occupied European home in the United states. Mexico has some that are older but I believe the one you mention in Santa Fe is the oldest one of it's type in the US. Cool stuff!!! Thanks for the Santa Fee tour. Awesome stuff - it really makes me want to go back :)
