The Oldest 'New' Subaru Forester in America?

I recently picked up this 1999 Subaru Forester.
As far as I know this is the oldest Subaru with the fewest miles in America. If not then it is the oldest Forester with the fewest miles.
Hence the Oldest 'New' title in the above.
Unless Subaru directly owns a Forester that they've kept hidden away, pristine and untouched, I doubt there are many (if any) Subaru's with these few miles on the road today.
This Subaru has been cherished by one owner for the last 24 years. It is one of those miraculous "little old lady who drove it to church" finds that you hear about but never run into. Well, I ran into one.

Thank you. It's a great car and I'm enjoying it immensely. I am very old school so I love the throwback features and tech. My only gripe is the interior space was NOT designed for modern baby car seats - gets a bit cramped with a rear facing seat behind me 😂 I did find a small oil leak after posting this, which may be a head gasket issue (the only issue in the service history was no mention of it being replaced, but I bought it knowing it would eventually be an issue) but I am yet to verify. If so I can seal it easily enough so I am not overly concerned.

1998 Forester was my first ever car. Bought it when I was 17. May not have been a “cool” car to a bunch of 17 year olds, but damn it was cool to me. Unfortunately suffered the old head gasket fate and didn’t have the money to fix it. Watching this was like a time capsule. Have a 23’ Forester now, and it’s a great car, but will never give me that warm and fuzzy feeling like this does.

Adam, Thank you. Unfortunately I didn't grow up with a Subaru (my first car was a 2003 Nissan Micra which was decidedly less cool than your first car 😂) but I was always a fan of them. Still remember watching Colin McRae with his Impreza, watching his race (occasionally) with my Dad who would turn on the rally racing. That was the epitomy of everything a car was supposed to be in the mind of my (at the time) teenage brain - it didn't hurt that a neighbor (my best friends Dad) had that exact same car in rally blue that I saw every day, either. This Subaru in the video though is equally special in my view. Like you say, it really is like stepping back in time. My channel is not centered around the car itself but I felt compelled to feature it - there just aren't many examples of this model year, in this good condition, around anymore. It will become a work vehicle for my business, so I will feature it going forward. I have made a pledge to keep it in good condition, too. It absolutely deserves it. Cheers!
