This is Richard Thornton. Viewers should understand that the Nahua-speaking Olmecas had nothing to do with the Olmec Civilization. They arrived in Tabasco around 1100 AD. The actual progenitors were probably the Zoque . . . but statuary suggests that many ethnic groups were participants in this civilization. My fellowship coordinator in Mexico was none other than Dr. Román Piña Chán, author of "Los Olmecs . . . La Cultura Madre." It was a extraordinary experience to sit in his office in the Museo Nacional de Anthropology at lunch time and hear him discuss his archaeological work in Michoacan, Morelos, Vera Cruz, Tabasco, Campeche and Yucatan states.

In the main area where the animals and things depicted on the ground in Nazca, there is a depiction of a 100% Olmec head. I found it on Google Earth. It was kind of freaky when I found it. Pretty sure it's old from when they made them.

One of the tenets of alt-history is a lack of knowledge of MOHS scale of mineral hardness. The ancient lost civilization gurus don't bring it up. It's used by geologists and archaeologists and shows that one stone can be carved and shaped with stones of equal or greater hardness. Demonstrations of various techniques for working hard stones with ancient tools can be seen at Scientists Against Myths channel. The Olmecs used basalt and andesite as raw material and obsidian and sepentine for tools. Smaller artefacts found are of jade and serpentine. Unless you are really determined to stick with Graham, or Brien, or that Bright guy....mystery solved!

Ok, So we, as any other animal, can develop features that can be beneficial in relation to external factors. We see the same features of the Olmec amongst people living in the tropics of the world. It’s similar to finding people with longer noses in drier climates. Incidentally there are no Aztec, there are descendants of the mexica, but no Aztecs. As for the maya, they actually do have those features. Perhaps not all, but many do. If you travel into the tropical areas of southern Mexico and into the maya regions, you will see people with those features, including amongst the native Americans still living in Tabasco Mexico today.

His politics of separating contact of "races" and civilizations before 1492 isn't delved into when it's a big component of this presentation, isn't scholarly. Dr. Clyde Winters broke down the Olmec language, and his conclusion was that they (the Olmec) spoke a Mande language, also archeologists excavated leather crowns with copper and gold ornaments. These same crowns were found in West Africa on ancient kings… Izapa Stella number 5 shows their journey from the Nile valley. Copan, Honduras Stella B shows African elephants in stone…
