OMA's SP10 Plinth System is a single sand casting of hypo eutectic or "grey" iron. Designed to accommodate both the new Technics SP10-R motor unit as well as the earlier SP10 MK2 and 3 motor units, this plinth provides exceptional rigidity, mass, and vibration damping properties. The underside of the plinth features a spider web of cast chambers filled with a vibration damping polymer. The cast plinth is precision CNC machined to precisely fit the SP10 motor unit and removable arm boards, which themselves are CNC machined from torrefied (thermally modified) Pennsylvania ash wood. Due to torrefaction, the wood is both extremely dimensionally stable and offers superior acoustic properties. Arm boards will accept virtually any tonearm with a spindle to pivot distance of 9" to 12" or longer. Arm boards can be exchanged in under a minute, allowing easy swapping of tonearms. The plinth's feet are fitted with holes for 1/4"-20 hardware and is supplied with basic leveling feet. Available in clear lacquer or black powder coat finish.
Maximum dimensions- 26 1/8 x 20 3/8 x 4 1/8, weight approx. 110 lbs without motor unit.

The aesthetics alone make me want to possess this set-up. The combination of materials just look fabulous together, and I'm including the amps and speakers here.

Would be interesting to hear a shoot-out between the turntable set-up in this video, an EMT 927 and a mass-loaded belt drive turntable using the same tonearm, cartridge, amplifier and speakers.

This OMA philosophy about good sound is marvelous, unconventional and perfect in the smallest details. I like that. No influence from outside, just straight forward.

If I could afford it I would own a complete system from you. You have educated me on a lot. I do love Horn speakers. In 73 or so I heard a pair of Klipsch K-Horns and from then on I was a horn fan. It basically changed everything I knew about music. Yes I have had a pair of Klipsch horns for years and pair of Klipsch Belle’s on by Back B speakers all play together. It’s unbelievable the music that happens when they play together. It’s just fills the room . What you produce really is at another level. Keep up the fantastic work. The World is a better place for all you have done ! Thank you !

No need to buy that, just get a LP12 and mount it to on a wall bracket, get a DC motor and speed controller and you will have a sound arguably just as good at 100th of the price.

I really enjoy what you are doing with OMA; your passion is very clear. Incredible design language, all around, quite a treat to see what you have created. I know my local hi fi dealer BEK Allentown Pennsylvania carries your Fleetwood speaker line; I'm very much looking forward to hearing them as well. Best of luck in all --cheers.

I realised early on down my hi-fi road how much difference a turntable's plinth makes. My first 'real' s/h deck was a vintage (mid 60's?) Thorens 150 / vintage SME (3009?) But when I pulled the flimsy hard-board or v.thin wood? plinth off, & dropped it in an overly large piece 3 or 4 inch thick compressed fibre board, which I jig-sawed out leaving only space for the sprung hanging sub-chasis & max overlap space for the top-plate to overlap, the difference was so so, but the following day I bought some fancy brass screws & screw down the decks metal top'plate with a about 8 along each of the 4 edges, bonding it firmly into the slab of board, instead of it just hanging by gravity alone ...the difference with all else being the same, was phenomenal & like a totally & far better system, that"s about sinking away the resonances (& possibly making any remaining resonance into a far higher frequency & invonciquentiall to the arm/cart tracing the groove???) In 40 yrs of owning my own (then all s/h) stereo gear since 20'ish yrs old, that Thorens /SME** with Free Plinth upgrade (**£30 s/h pre - eBay, of course) remains one of the top 3 biggest improvements I'd ever heard & made to my gear that i'll never forget, such was the vast all-round improvment, & the deep tight & tuneful bass i'd never heard before was just one of many upgrade in sound that the new plinth made. You never bothered about ruining a sell-on in those day 's s/h prices tho I did to a friend, on it's sound alone in his system.

Everything you make is a work of art that is great to look at and then the best part is that then they all help produce that exquisite sound we love to hear. I truly admire your approach to music reproduction and the design too. But damn I wish I could afford your stuff because I would buy it all. Even without hearing i know it is all just fucking awesome. Just perfect sir.

Could you make a plinth for a Technics sp 15/25?

Jonathan. I have two questions! Firstly, you let slip a K5 turntable, could you tell us more about that one please and also an in-depth video on the new K3 would be wonderful please. Secondly, in the special K amp video ( which looks incredible by the way) did I spy beneath it an OMA branded CD player? I know you prefer analog but you obviously do digital from watching previous videos and what looks like your own CD player in the K3 video. Could you tell us which digital sources you prefer. You have a unique approach to Audio which I personally love so I would love to know what digital sources satisfy you sonically. All the best from Austria, Ian

Hi Ian, K3 video is coming up :) K5 is a less expensive version of the K3, we will have more information on that shortly. We really only play vinyl, but we also stream music when our clients ask for it. That CD player is rarely used anymore... Thank you for your kind comments!

@@oswaldsmillaudio Thank you so much for your kind reply. I do so look forward to your videos. I really appreciate your approach to how you go about things. I am so looking forward to the K3 video and more information on the K5. From what I have read about the journey developing the K3 it is going to be a fascinating video to watch. Also, I just want to add, your website is a feast for the eyes. I don´t know who does your photograpy but they have such a skill in visually bringing out the soul of what you do and the equipment you make. It is a rare eye indeed that can do that, true art! Congratulations to whomever it is, what an eye for depth of understanding a subject.

Thinking about buying the new limited edition 60th anniversary technics turntable. Probably just for fun. I think they’re only making 3000 of these fully clear acrylic tables.

I find it very interesting the amount of manufacturers who claim to be the best in the world. How would the average person position such a heavy plinth?

I have some points: 1) This is only a great setup up if you have a concrete floor and dont live close to a road producing subsonic vibrations, even mid range turntables use great 3 point suspensions like the LP12, mount an LP12 on a good wall bracket and the advantages of heavy chassis is just about negated and I doubt would add benefit to the sound. 2) Great speed control is already on higher ending turntables and arguably just as good as the SP10 variants, these are so good now, the need for really heavy platters becomes redundant. Having said all that, its a masterpiece for what it is, but the wise man might choose a good 3 point suspension mounted on a wall bracket with DC motor speed control with a heavy platter (+3kg) and IMO no blind listening test would be able to identify which is the better sounding.
