This incredible but sadly falling apart plantation house was built in 1830 but the property dates back to the late 1700s.The history of it is very interesting and I will share some of it in my pinned comment below. This was honestly one of my favorite explores, I can just visualize how beautiful this place would’ve been back in the day and still is now even being in the shape that it’s in.

This incredible old plantation was built in 1830 but the property dates back to the late 1700s.(The original house was burned down by British troops in the American revolution) And then wood left from that house was used to construct the plantation shown in this video. During the civil war times this plantation was a small town consisting of a school and even a post office. The history of it is actually pretty interesting. This was honestly one of my favorite explores, I can just visualize how beautiful this place would’ve been back in the day and still is now even in the shape it is in. Some of the coolest stuff I find is after I manage to reach the 2nd and 3rd floors around 8:30 in. For pictures from my explores My Instagram - instagram.com/kapppy_/ Thanks for watching everyone. Urban Exploring With Kappy You did an incredible job filming this home! Bravo! Thank you for being slow enough with the camera. So many beautiful old things to see. The poster bed resembles one in Williamsburg, Va. The top that is pointed is meant to represent a pineapple. A symbol of friendship. Yes it's still a beautiful home today. Your footage may be its last. I'm so appreciative you shared this explore with us, Kappy!

Thank you for sharing this though it breaks my heart. The last person who lived in this house was Dillard Riddick and he was my grandfather’s cousin. I visited there in the 70’s during a family reunion. It was absolutely grand. Dillard took me inside the first floor and I was fascinated. Many of the furnishings were the original ones. Dillard’s mother invited all her great-nieces, which included my mom,to spend a week there. together in the summer. Mom (now 101), has wonderful memories of those times. When Dillard died the house was left vacant. It is so very sad to see what has happened to it.

Beth, thank you for adding your info about your family history here. I adore the abandoned explorations, but I go bonkers trying to find these places online. I cannot stand to be unable to find out the homes history. The history of the families and their lives lived there. It completed the whole adventure for me.

I can not confirm it, but federalist chairs like the ones pictured if made in New England by famous makers could fetch in the 50-100K and some of the chairs fit that style

You are always risking your life for us. Thank you for all you do Kappy! We really do appreciate you!!. This place looks like a hoarders home. Noticed no graffiti. Sad to see what was once s beautiful home being is such sad shape. Why won't anyone go through it save the antiques left behind? Great explore Kappy! I think it's my fave so far.

This house is a treasure trove of 19th century furniture! Some of the furniture left to the ravages of time would feel right at home on Antiques Roadshow! I loved the lectern and the child's cart and the old advertising piece on the top floor were definitely quite valuable! This is the best collection of antiques I've seen so far on Kappy's video adventures. It almost makes one consider a life of petty larceny! The house itself would be easier to see without all the garbage and clutter, but it appears to be remarkably well preserved, in places at least, considering its age. Strange how one portion can be relatively intact and the other completely devastated. How sad that this could happen and nobody seems to care. The history of this once grand house begs to have a book written about it, especially as no one seems to have plans to preserve this treasure of a bygone era. Seeing these things happen to such wonderful houses makes me look around at my own humble dwelling and wonder if this will be its fate. Thanks again, Kappy, for saving these visual records for posterity.

With that kind of history it blows my mind why that home isn’t on some type of historical register. Just think if, before all the decay and distress, someone would have preserved it with all the item left behind what a treasure our future generations would have to see!!! Love your work Kappy!

What an amazing old house. I'd surely love to know what made them leave so much stuff behind--especially all the furniture. I'm assuming either people have come in and trashed the place after it was abandoned or else these people were hoarders.. Why so much trash and papers all over the floor? That's crazy... But this is one of my favorite explores... Such a shame to let such a beautiful home fall to pieces like this. 😓

I really like the clapboard siding and it still seems to be in good condition, at least under the porches. I like the whole house in general, very unfortunate that it has been allowed to fall into such a state of decay. Thank you for your time in presenting this. Truly a loss of history;once they are gone, they are gone. So many people would love to save a house like this, but often I think old places like this get tied up legal hurdles. There is always disagreement in how to dispose of the property, and so it just sits.

Its amazing the way that half the house is all but collapsed & then in the corner of the room you see some clothes hung up, calmy waiting for their owner to come & put them on, just as though they were only hung there yesterday & the rest of the house is intact & occupied & the house is fine & it's just another day.

Pretty awesome find . Looks like there may of been more then one member of the same family group living here and perhaps the last occupant/s became a hoarder. I see so much pain here just to fill your home with stuff to try and hide from the problem . Terrible all these antiques and history will be lost unless someone gets to this home now like yesterday y . This house must of been gorgeous in its hey day . Thank you for the effort you took to go and film this beauty .

I'd rather see the things in this house salvaged and the house demolished than to see it treated as it is. So sad. It was a beauty in it's day and still bears the remains with a melancholy demeanor. If people had maintained these homes they would have prize possessions now. Instead they let them turn to rot and decay. Thank you Kappy for a tout of a once magnificent home.

Thank you, Kappy, for making the effort---and taking the risk!---to go to each floor of the house. I'm glad you documented this house. I'm not an architect or engineer but it looks to me like some big sections of the house will soon give way.---One of the most beautiful houses I've ever seen and it's interesting to see how it's been added to over the years yet the interior seems to have had very little change over many years and some parts maybe no change at all.---I suppose that eventually the maintenance and cost of the house became too much for the owners and that eventually no one was willing to take on the cost and responsibility of caring for the house. I wouldn't be surprised if the family died out and maybe a distant relative became owner and sold the property to someone who wants the land rather than the house.---A wonderful place that could be the setting for a movie or novel.---Some of the interiors made me think of the paintings of Jamie Wyeth.

When I watch these videos I am always interested in the history of the mold houses. If I had inherited the house and I didn't want it (which I doubt very much) I would have taken the furniture rather than let it rot away. But then that's me I guess. This is so sad and disrespectful o the owners and the building which has so much history. I could never leave my parents or grandparents house to rot away.

I love how you document these homes.y cousins live on the farm my great-grandparents farmed. There were 2 almost identical houses on the farm, I believe they were built by Dutch brothers. I remember exploring the unoccupied house in the back as a kid. It was so cool. But they were not able to maintain it and it has been lost. When I was a child there was a bunk house by the main house too. A school house still sits in rotting fashion next to the main house. I wish we could have preserved these, but it is cool to remember still.

Looked like an old riding coat hanging from the door on the first floor. I used to show horses back in the day and one of my old riding coats looked very similar.

great explore Kappy, this must have been one big beautiful majestic house back in it's day,,it's a shame that there's so much water damage to it now, that's going to make all the floors eventually cave in,, i'm a record collector and it pained me to see all those nice old country albums all going to waste on that bed upstairs,,great explore though, nonetheless , keep up the good work, be safe

I don't know how you do it, but it's yet another cool old house! Like everyone has been saying, these old places are so sad seeing them in the shape there in now! Always love watching your video's! Big pieces of our history in a lot of them. From the construction of them, and man some of them are real log cabins still standing! Incredible finds! Thanks for sharing!

Well done, Kappy! It's ashame the current owner let it get to that state. When I was there the floor in the front hall hadn't collapsed yet. I'm glad you made it out alive! Haha.

Urban Exploring With Kappy I think it was about 2 years ago! There was an old cart under the house that I took a picture of and I think its crushed now!

You can bet your grandma that this place has been turned upside down and searched. Very sad. Mantels ripped out, and anything of historical value are long gone.
