I think this is absolutely great, they can have some top tier animation, great pacing and skip the fillers. This is going to get a lot of new folks in to the anime.

Studio Wit was the right choice. Vivy looked amazing. Ranking of Kings, Vinland Saga. Wit has worked on some of the best looking anime out there.

Man it's just amazing to me how a manga kept going on for 25 years and it just grew and spread far and wide. Never falling just kept reaching newer heights.

One piece 2024 going crazy. Another day I thank god for making me a One Piece fan. This series has played such a big part of my life. Going from watching/reading it alone in middle/high school to enjoying it with so many others.

This is such a hype announcement. I always wanted a remake of the anime but never thought I would ever see the announcement before the series conclusion. So ecstatic about it.

Hell of an undertaking. Traditional Anime 1 Episode = 2-3 Manga Chapters One Piece Currently does about 1 Chapter per Episode and stretches the episodes so you can't call them filler. If you bring it to a traditional format and even cram 3 chapters per episode That's still around 350 Episodes./ Even if you released them weekly (Which i wouldn't want and is largely why quality of one piece anime is so low) that'd take you 6+ Years. If you release it in 24 Episode batches each year with no breaks thats 12+ years. Be watching one piece for life.

As someone who watch One Piece since their childhood, I feel sense of sadness but also happiness. The old one made me love One Piece, even with the silliness, but the new one probably will reflect One Piece as it peak form, which I could never have had. I can't wait!!

They really want to bank into the One Piece fandom. The live action got a lot of praise, but the early parts of the anime, combined with the mountainous amount of existing episodes can be a large barrier of entry for most. With this, new fans will ease through the anime, especially now with the much better animation and pacing.

Keys to this being worth the effort: 1. Stay true to the source material. 2. No fillers. 3. Intend to do this for the entire series once it's finished. 4. Don't get lazy and mail it in. There has to be passion behind this cause it'll be a very long project.

The kids that are growing up now and the ones that will be born in the future deserve to experience one piece. Its one of the best stories ever told and im so happy this will keep the franchise alive for generations to come.😊

I once thought about getting a proper paced with great animation episodes of one piece that pars with the other new gen from its very first episode, but never thought about getting something official like this. We are looking forward to see this masterpiece.

To be honest if there are no fillers and manga pacing, it would take 300-500 episodes only for 1100 chapters

Imagine the animation and designs from the wano arc and ZERO fillers, like the fan-made One Pace... that would make One Piece the best anime of all existence!!

It's gonna be really interesting to see how Wit adapts it, they're an amazing studio. If I understood it correctly, this version is gonna be seasonal, starting with the East Blue Saga. That means we're gonna see this arc with an enormous improvement in quality. Seeing how they were able to compile this whole saga in only 8 episodes of the Live Action, I believe they could do it in 24 anime episodes. It would be a very optimized version of One Piece. Assuming they decided to make this after the success of the LA, then it's safe to say it might be coming out in 2025, maybe in january, running until july. We might get annual seasons adapting each saga. But something tells me this is not gonna be just a casual remake. Given they named it differently (The One Piece) and chose a different studio (one of the top 5 studios in the industry), then I believe they're gonna give the staff a lot of creative freedom with this show, allowing them to push to the utmost limit of what Wit can do animation-wise and cinematically-wise. It wouldn't surprise me to see movie-quality seasons of this, picking iconic moments of the series and elevating them 1000 times more emotional and impactful. They might be planning to make it the definitive version of One Piece. I'm looking foward to it.

the one piece franchise is insane, what a time to be a one piece fan! no other anime/manga is getting this much content and love. From the manga, to the live action, monster one shot anime, and now a remake from WIT and Netflix…I don’t take it for granted, others can only wish for this while we’re actually seeing it become a reality.

Myanimelist Maga rating rank put one piece in 4th place of all time, competing god tier alien masterpieces like Berserk Vagabond and Monster. The most sold manga in history and the highest rated shounen in history by avalanche needs better anime. Toei has ruined my heart series countless times. Hopefully, this will allow me to die in peace.

Honestly, I kind of like the idea of the animation getting better as the series progresses. It adds a layer of “the crew is becoming stronger, and coming closer to their own personal goals.”

Just saw a documentary on how Oda was rejected and called a bad mangaka for years before he made one piece and that just makes me appreciate the show even more knowing that even at this moment he's working 24/7 to make the best possible content for his readers and you gotta respect him for that. But Toei is butchering all his hard work by making these shitty pacing episodes and making people lose interest in the story he worked so hard on. Pisses me off seeing people call one piece mid just because of the pacing ,.well toei did great job in wano , let's wait for remake 😭😢

This anime is insane. Even grown ups and elders that never heard of it before, are starting to watch one piece and they love it.

In my opinion, One Piece is a piece of literature that well surpasses the manga and anime mediums. I have always wanted a refreshed and quality version of the story and it seems we may be getting that. I cannot be more excited. Netflix really is killing it this year. I never would have expected this.

My question is will wit actually stick with it, I don't know much about them but i know they gave aot to mappa and then vinland to mappa, those aren't the only ones too (they gave ancient magus bride to a different studio). Have they actually done a full adaptation of any manga, not one 24 episodes but a decently long running one. Edit: well actually i found out that while vinland saga did switch studios it still had the same exact members working on it from wit.

This must be one of the best announcement made in the entire 2,5 decades this show have been running. I am so excited.

This sounds amazing, however, I really do hope they keep all the funny slice of life bits that comes out in the crews journey. Those moments are very important to the characters and their relationships (like Luffy imitating Sanji or Ussop messing with the dials)

A few months ago, my friend and I were literally discussing how One Piece should be reanimated so that its older episodes would be more up-to-date with the current animation standards. My friend has watched the whole show but I haven't seen OP at all myself (I've only read about 100 chapters of the manga), but I might consider watching the new adaptation if I ever have time. Being an AOT fan, I'm sure that WIT will do an amazing job on this re-adaptation!

This show is one of the most important work of recent times, hope the spirit of One Piece lives on forever, this show absolutely changed me!
