I've caught up with one piece, and at first it seems like such a long series, but its so fucking worth it. It's an amazing and beautiful series with some very funny and awesome moments. A really cool video that a lot of one piece fans recommend to new time watchers or people who wanna get into one piece is, "The breathtaking world of one piece" would love to see you react to that!
I just finished the last episode of this last night, and really enjoyed it. I almost certainly will never watch the anime though. I'll definitely watch a 2nd season of this though. Happy to see you putting out reactions to it.

So whatever that power he used to scare away that sea king was it can't be a devil fruit. There are actually only two devil fruits shown in season 1 and you've seen them both, everything else is either the result of training or a natural ability.
I didn't twig till I'd watched the whole thing but the kid who plays Kobe is Australian. The snails confused the hell out of me, I could not grasp the concept at all.
This doesn't surprise me: The arcs before the ones where Franky is introduced suffer from bad pacing (Skypiea) and even from a bad rewrite of the original story by the anime (Long Ring Long Island). There is a reason why an anime remake is already announced while the original series isn't even finished.
