I think you guys sound amazing. The thing with this particular song though is that when it sung by younger people (even Katy Perry doesn't pull it off 100%) -- that there's something really amazing about an older person reflecting on a relationship that truly got away. It's harder to feel INTO the song as much when younger people sing it (also like certain musical theater songs like; Garlands 'The Man That Got Away' from ASIB, or Streisand's 'My Man' from Funny Girl. This is not AT all a mean comment. They sing gorgeously and it's beautiful. Sometimes it's just more heart tugging when you hear it from shimmering that looks/sounds older, with that emotion that comes from decades of love, pain, love, unrequited love, etc etc.
