Us single parents appreciate how full Jared's heart is and that Jared understands the amount of energy it takes to be a single parent ...sometimes those closest to you don't even understand(especially having multiple children) things that you or your family need or have to go through; not just financially, but even physically, mentally, emotionally, socially and even spiritually!!! Thanks Jared for being a shining example of a great father and a great husband!!!

I have a baby on the way, but no other kids yet, but I think this time away was much deserved, and they should just enjoy. Some day soon they will be with screaming kids and a busy schedule, and they will close their eyes and want to go back to these moments in Hawaii. ❤

I am very late in catching up on the blogs so I am sure they won't see this message but Jared is always saying how grateful he is to the viewers, but I wanted to let him know how grateful I am to see a man, husband, father with such a tender heart for his family and others. Jared, I tweeted you but I also wanted to say it in a comment. Us single parents are unique. We go through twice the work than most people. The ones who DON'T have family struggle every day and stress so much. I thankfully have family that has been there for me since I was pregnant. My mother went to most appointments with me, risked me breaking her hand during five HARD days of pre-labor and then twelve hours of active. She cried when I cried learning I had to have a c-section. She cried when we heard my son cry as they pulled him out of my stomach. She stayed with my while I was recovering and helped take care of my wonderful little boy. Now almost 6 years later, she is still here helping me with him while I work, while I am sick, and while I'm trying to figure out my life. You got a glimpse of our lives as single parents and it means SO much to me that you took time to think about us. You and Ellie are just an amazing people and I'm so glad your little boys have both of you. Never take ANYTHING for granted. Also if you want to research into single parents of kids with special needs. You both may feel the need to help them out! Again THANK YOU!

Jared, thanks for the thoughts at the end. I lost my husband last September and became widow at 33. raising my kids alone now I'm learning how hard it is doing everything alone, single parenting is difficult. Thanks for the encouraging words. They tugged at my heartstrings tonight. You are all so blessed to have each other. 💙

Jared I just wanted to say thank you for telling me that I am amazing and strong! I am currently going through postpartum depression and it has been really hard for me to try and stay positive. Taking care of my son is the hardest thing that I have ever done and it really means a lot that you would say something like this. Sometimes all you ever need is for someone to just tell you that you appreciate them and all that they do. So thank you, you are amazing!

The end of this video made me really emotional.. I am not a single mom but my husband goes away to work each week and comes back on the weekends.. he works so hard these days as were trying to save up for a home (were currently living with his parents) still so blessed though! and I am so proud of him..some weeks are really hard and I really look forward to the weekends and my kids faces when they hear daddy come through the door, its just so sweet and I love my family so so much.. I also want to say thank you Ellie and Jared thank you so much, I watch all of your videos and you guys are a wonderful family full of love.This video really made my day

Ellie & Bonnie, please don't ever feel awkward about missing your parents when you're apart. Cherish every moment because you don't know when they'll be gone. September 26th (2 years ago this coming September) my mom passed away. She was diagnosed with myasthenia gravis and had only had it a couple of months. She was on meds and was supposed to have lots of life left. She had mentioned feeling short of breath to us kids(I'm 55) and she ended up passing out and dying. She was alone and it saddens me every time I think that I couldn't be there to help her. Your family has brought so much joy to me and has helped me get through this hard time. Love you all.

I usually have a hard time commenting on videos, but this one I could right a book on! It really touched my heart. I love how grateful y'all are and always express that, not matter what. Fact is everyone has hard days, but y'all always seem to have grateful hearts. I hope my husband and I set that same example in our vlogs and for our son. This entire week with Ellie being gone was precious! I loved how y'all kept talking to each other through the vlog. Vlogging is such a blessing to do just because of moments like that when you're away from each other, and the memories you can look back on. Ok I'm done!!! 😍

Ugh I needed the end part. My husband is a paramedic and he's been working so much overtime lately. He's gone for 4 days then home for one then gone again for another 4. We have a 4 year old son and I'm pregnant and feeling sooo sick 24/7. It's been really difficult for me recently because I feel like I'm not keeping up on things because I've been feeling horrible. I just keep telling myself I'm doing the best I can. But I know everything will be okay =]

My mom has been a single parent of three for 12 years. Actually, probably longer than that because when my parents were together, my father was never around to be another parent. Not only that, but two of us have mental disabilities that take a LOT of her attention. She'll be grateful to hear that someone who doesn't know what that's like at all is singing her praises. My mom is Wonder Woman in my eyes. She is most definitely my hero. I couldn't raise three kids on my own, especially when two of them have severe mental disabilities. I don't know how she does it.

I've loved watching these Hawaii vlogs to see the tourist perspective of Honolulu more since I never really got to experience that before moving here. I also find it funny to see some of the little things that I know and have learned from living here that tourists either don't know or are misinformed of. It amazes me how different I see things compared to a tourist after only living here for 5 months.

Jared, I just want to say thank you so very much. I'm a single mom to my amazing daughter Lilah who is one. I found you guys when i first found out I was pregnant back when Ellie was carrying Calvin, I have watched every video since then and hope that my daughter will learn what a father is supposed to be from seeing how much you love your boys and Ellie. So that someday she will know that there are good men in the world. No one ever tells a single parent that thy are doing a good job, and I can't thank you enough for your kind words today.

I have been watching you guys for awhile but I rarely comment.. but I just wanted to comment regarding the little snippet Jared did towards the end of the video. I am a wife of an amazing man who is active duty military and a mom of an awesome 10 month old with another one on the way.. I am home most of the time by myself, far away from family. The part you said about parenting made me tear up.. I seriously LOVE being a parent, its the most rewarding thing I have ever done.. but you are totally right - it's seriously hard. I appreciate everything you said and it made me feel so good about myself. Ellie is so lucky to have such an amazing and thoughtful husband like you - and I'm totally jealous she went to Hawaii! Just wanted to say thanks for that little uplifting part. I love watching you guys and have enjoyed watching the boys grow up!

something I learned in my oceanography class is that all of the islands of hawaii were once a volcano, there is what is called a hotspot and lava comes up creating new land and as the earth rotates the hotspot stays there and new land is formed, that also explains why they are in a line. Thanks Jared for acknowledging single parents. I didn't see that coming and I just teared up. I'm a single mom of four. Three of them are at home with me and it's tough. Some days are harder than others but I'm grateful and I try to remind myself daily of my purpose. I appreciate your kind words.

I know a lot of people who watch E&J have come here for companionship because of fertility issues. I recently learned a friend of mine, after 12 years of trying and several rounds of IVF, is expecting a miracle baby boy in June. My heart just overflows for her and her family, and I just wanted to offer that as encouragement and a ray of hope for people who might still be waiting for that miracle.
