I cried when I saw this in theaters, because I am a total sucker for those true stories, and it amazes me that a 13 year old girl could do what she did after losing an arm and over 60% of her blood. LOVE YOU BETHANY

When I was born I contracted Spinal Meningitis at 3 days old and was sick for a long time as an infant and I do have two arms but I can only use my one left arm/hand in everything that I do cause of the meningitis, so I totally understand what Bethany is going through. Imagine tying your hand behind your back and not having one of your hands to do things with, it gives you a better perspective on life then with two hands you see how blessed you are to have two hands/arms to use.

@@travispadgett4406 I’m very Sorry to hear that, but I’m sure you’re managing just fine and you have your Family and Friends to help you. I had Scoliosis when I was a kid so I had to have back surgery when I was 11 I am 38 now, so now I have two 8-inch long metal rods attached to my spinal cord to keep it straight. In the hospital for a week, first 3 days I was already up and walking around, and Homeschooled for 3 months.

All in all, Soul Surfer is still one of the most inspiring film of all time. Especially AnnaSophia Robb was the best casting as Bethany Hamilton. Bethany Hamilton still inspires me every day.

I think it would of meant alot more to bethany and her family that she actually survived a shark attack lost one of her arms and then taunt herself how-to surf again and how-to do things one armed now.
