Think you've got the technique just right with that razor now. I liked your idea of justifying the cost by passing it down to a son who would possibly do the same with his son. What a different a week makes. Very Deliberate and controlled use of the razor which seemed incredibly effective mowing down the stubble. A much more pleasurable experience this time round. Have a good weekend, Mark.

HI Mark, You are on the right track. It takes time for me about 10 - 14 days. One thing I have observed when we do this correctly after each pass when the razor is re-positioned there will be the snap as the head returns under the spring tension. That is telling me I am using it correctly. I found you can have quite long passes on a shave with relative comfort. Good video and good luck!

You make an interesting observation about using a cartridge razor. Like you (and most of us, I suspect) I muddled through learning to shave on my own and regarded it as a chore. Later on, after learning to use a safety razor, I picked up a cart again and found it to be a whole new experience. I still use carts with some regularity and enjoy the shave a great deal.

That is a fantastic looking shaver. I have the OneBlade Core and it gives some pretty good shaves. For me , Lucky Tiger has a relaxing scent. Nice one.

Thank you for the video. When I saw you using Proraso Preshave, I thought to myself I should add that to my routine. When I checked my supplies in the bathroom, I had two jars of the Proraso preshave. I'll definitely be adding that to my shaving routine.

This time; I watched you then joined with my GEM Contour I(Stainless steel & Plastic 1969s model) SE Razor since it is of a very similar design and appearance to the Genesis and gave myself an "imposter" shave. :D

Good to know I'm not the only one that doesn't get along with Astra green. Again, good demo of the razor. It's not on my wish list, but I enjoy seeing different products. Have a great weekend Mark!

Great shave Mark, loved watching the head move this time and that click at the end of a stroke. Beautiful razor but way out my league price wise but great seeing it being used. Have a great weekend mate ☺️👍

Nice shave. That razor has never gotten a bad review. If it was around 150-200 I would have been very eager to buy it.

Great shave and interesting. Looks like Proraso is taking of in Australia. I was in Supermarket today and they had whole line up but no DE razors all cartridges Will have to keep an eye out. Who knows they may be catching the DE train soon

Hi Mark like yourself I’m just on my 4th shave with the Genesis and I’m loving mine I’ve switched from straight shaving to using the oneblade and my Merkur slant and finding the shaves on par the tips you mentioned about head angle I’m going to try thanks for the tips and great advise 👍

Mark that's one cool razor, if I had one i would have it engraved with my name, and would of passed it onto my son, sadly he passed away in 2017 aged 32, mind you my wife would do something to the family jewels, if I spent that kind of money on one lol.

Great shave, Mark. I'm not a fan of that razor for several reasons: #1 Price, #2 Proprietary blade I have many razors that will pass to my son and grandson so I just can't justify the cost of the One Blade. Just recently I spent the most money I've ever spent on a razor: the Timeless Bronze Edition and am loving it. Have a safe and great weekend!

Glad y like it, no doubt its maybe the best SE, dispite its cost n blade limitation. The usage of head flat against the skin, the pivoting movement do the work, nvr really felt comfortable to me, but that's just me. Traded mine with Brian in Glasgow, maybe he sell it to y at a discount... By the way, I thought had got rid of all my SE's, but in fact still kept 1 Razorock Black Hawk, injector blades (mny choices). Though the blade is w i d e , like Mongoose, it shaves equal to Genesis for under $30... If y come across one, y might be surprised. Enjoy yr weekend, Iv sent y an E-mail abt vintage Gilettes. Razor too pricey for me. Glad you got the hang of using it now. I strop my blades on a dry towel after using it too.

I use to use The Mach 3 although tried every other cartridge since they came out Funny thing is I tried the Mach 3 the other week using soap brush and 3 pass shave It was good but again cartridges are to expensive and not as much fun so will stick with DE

What about the cost of blades eg buy Vintage Gillette blades are cheap I personally wouldn’t pay that much for a razor not even if it lasted 1000 years Gillette are proven to last so saying that never say never I say so who knows maybe in 10 years
