Nicely done Mark! For me the clear winner is Suppy. Besides the proprietary blades a pivoting head takes the art out of the art of traditional shaving.

Thanks, Patrick, and I agree. I enjoy that I can get a variety of injector blades for the Supply razor. Plus, the Supply injector razor loads in a breeze. Very easy.

Very well done, Mark!! Can't go wrong with either razor. they both appear to do the job easily and efficiently, but if I had to choose between the 2, I would choose the Supply SE because I believe it has a better overall design

Hey Mark. I have both razors and I prefer the Supply SE. Both give great shaves. I find it difficult to remove the Core blade I can’t seem to get a hold of the blade to pull it out, usually takes 5-6 tries. I don’t leave my blades in the razor because I don’t know when will be using the razor again. I don’t have a problem with the SE because I manually load and unload the blade. Nice comparison. Have a great day and be safe.

Excellent razor comparison shave Mark. If I was in the market for a SE razor, then the Supply SE would be my pick. I prefer having to use different blades, then just using one on the One Blade Core. Have a super day!

Thanks, J T.:) Yes, this is most likely going to be the majority opinion. However, The Core is a good razor. But most folks are attracted to the Supply SE due its use of non-proprietary blades. I also love that the Supply SE has added heft. The weight really helps.

Charles, both are good razors. However, it appears that viewers prefer the Supply SE for the very reason you stated. I have the Supply in my rotation. It really is a fine single edge razor.

I'm a Gem razor guy- the G-bar , the open combs and every one made. All of them are one pass razors. I decided to branch out and buy the One Blade . I used it once ,only a few strokes and put it down. IMO the shave was dull and found myself buffering constantly. I put back it the drawer and will give it away, it's that bad.

I had the Supply 2.0. First razor when I switched over to wet shaving. Filleted my face. I tried it for the warranty period and it just didn’t work for me. Supply customer service was awesome to deal with. Sent it back. The nik stop technology makes me want to try again. I’m sure my technique was very raw back then as well. I may give it a shot.

Hi, Mark. I amended my usual introduction to taking that first shave pass from "30 degrees, a light touch, let the razor do all the work, gentlemen" to "15 degrees, a light touch, let the razor do all the work, gentlemen." Because, the best angle for the SE is about 10 to 15 degrees. The angle is found quite easily and comfortably. One SE user mentioned that if you see tracks form the SE plate/fins, then the angle is probably wrong. As you can see from the video, my passes with the SE and clean and complete. So, I hope you do give it another try.

One important thing. The One Blade web site days each blade only lasts 2 - 3 shaves and cost almost a dollar each, without a subscription. $29 for 30 blades(21 with a sub). Supply blades are $8 for 8 blades. HOWEVER, they last 8-9 shaves. Pretty easy decision for me. Thanks again for making such great and helpful videos.

If you use their blades. Not everyone knows that a gemstone blade can be used after removing the spine with a pair of pliers. Hold it by the cardboard and rip the spine off by bending it back and forth. Watch your fingers!

I purchased the Supply SE Razor and love it. One thing I haven't been able to find is a review of different single edge blades. I searched most shaving channels and haven't found any comparison of SE Injector blades. It appears Supply is low on inventory so was looking to get some blades elsewhere.
@MarkSzorady
@MarkSzorady Год назад
Darren, I'm so glad to hear this. When viewer Greg from Virginia very kindly sent me the SE razor (I love it!), he also sent along some Schick Proline B20 injector razor blades from Japan. I have yet to use these in them in the SE, but they are supposedly a very good blade and could be a bit sharper. Also, standard Schick injector blades will work in the Supply SE. One thing about the proline blades, they may need to be manually installed. At least the one I have does not have an injector key on the blades case. I was able to move some proline blades to an empty Supply container with key.
@garagehobbies
@garagehobbies Год назад
@@MarkSzorady Awesome, thanks for the suggestion. I have the black label Supply blades (came with the razor) that are made in Japan so I'll have a look at the Proline blades. I don't mind loading the old injector with them so long as they are a good sharp blade.

Great Shave, Great Video. It’s a pity something can’t be added to the razor to give it that little extra weight when needed. Something on the handle like a grip system but adds just a little weight for a more comfortable shave. Not even sure if it would work but just a thought

I really wanted to love the one blade but when I got it I tried installing the blade both ways and one time at a very deep cut on my finger and cannot stop bleeding that’s how deep the cut was but yet when I installed it I could not shave it would not make contact with my skin on my face. I had to go back to my old razor because It did a better job. What a waste of money but I want to try this other one

@MarkSzorady Год назад
Aaron, so very sorry to her of your accident with the OneBlade Core. Yes, loading a blade is unlike other razors. That contact issue was addressed in one of my videos based on Steve The Daily Shaver's method. The Core requires us a little bit of pressure to engage the razor head. Again, terribly sorry to hear of your accident.

The Gem blade hack from Subie works fantastic (at least it does for me).. the 1blade blades are too expensive at almost $1.00 per blade. If it wasn’t a proprietary blade use (without hacking it), it would be a great razor. But it’s certainly hard to recommend any of their versions (even the cheapest “core”).. the blades are too costly. If you haven’t tried shimming a Gem blade, you really should. It works💪🏼 At the cost of their blades you might as well use a cartridge razor🤦🏻‍♂️

Seems if it can’t be used on the upper lip it’s a failed design. Maybe an extra detail blade on the back side or somewhere else might be an answer but still not ideal. Also proprietary blades is one of the reasons there is a caravan returning to vintage style shaving. The ole money grab. I also like the Twig and Thorn accepting half blades wow! Wish I had gone that route instead of Supply. OneBlade is going the wrong direction in that regard.
