I'm on WiFi a lot but am getting over 9 hours of screen time consistently. Your phone's may be struggling to grab 5g. I also did a fresh install on all my phones. When I transfer from another phone I always end up with poor battery on Pixels, Samsungs, and OnePlus devices.
I think the camera is fantastic. I had the s23 ultra and I think the camera on the open is just as good if not better. As for battery life, I get 7 to 8 hours of screen on time every day. And I use my phone heavily for work and personal use like checking social media and the internet and watching RU-vid and playing games.
Just ordered my OnePlus open after selling my ROG Phone 7 which has been my daily driver since September 2023. I did also sell another gaming phone and tablet by Lenovo. I'm definitely looking forward to having a phone tablet combo.
Personally having used this phone for over a month now I think your very harsh on the cameras as I think they're very good tbh but everyone is entitled to their opinion. Good vid aswell 👍
Thanks. I think it's mainly the color science they need to work on. The photos on the OnePlus 11 were amazing. Also for content creation the video let me down. But I have to remember I'm not making content for content creators.
I have a OnePlus 12 in return period still. I can get the Apex Edition for £1249 with free OP Buds 3 Pro which I will sell for £150. Do you think it is worth it as of Sept 2024?
I think so. After using the fold 6 and the pixel 9 pro fold, it holds it's own. Especially with the extra software features and the anti glare inner screen and less crease compared
@@consumertechwarehouse I think that it's just how it works today. But using such phones is so much fun! Seems I went back in 2013 when each phone or OS release was exciting and brought a lot!
@@consumertechwarehouse I wouldn't be too concerned about the back camera glass. It should be tougher and more scratch resistant than the ceramic guard gorilla victus on the front display
Coming from a mate 20x w/ 7.2 inch screen the open is super small. I tried to adjust to the size but i couldnt so i returned it. Its cool and everything but not for me.
Ohh!! I had the mare 20x. Probably the best phone I've ever owned. The real magic with that one was how tall it was. All foldable are shorter so it seems smaller. 7.2 inches at 16:9 looks way bigger than 7.2 inches in a squarish aspect ratio.
This is a little game that they've been playing recently for phones. All these phones now and the last couple months with these crazy 2800 3,000 4000 nits it's all just changing the method that they're choosing to look at. It's marketing bullcrap. When you look at the iPhone 15, it has 2000 nits of brightness that's rated by being out in full sunlight on auto mode. With android a lot of these now that have 2800 nits, it doesn't have anything to do with the outside brightness on auto mode. What they're claiming is 2800 nits is merely the 3% of the screen that can get up to 2800 nits during HDR content playback, which is far from being 2800 nits of peak brightness outside. My iPhone 14 Pro Max with 2000 nits max, is far easier to read outdoors in direct sun than any of these new so called 2800+ nit android phones. It's kind of pathetic that android phones have started to do this marketing double talk. Apparently it's gonna be a thing from now on. Also There are 3 speakers not 4. 3 For Spatial Audio affect. Speakers sound great to me. Not as much for music but for movies it sounds fantastic and has a good spatial affect.
I have and its awesome. I'm getting used to not have Nova Launcher, using gestures and not having folders on the app drawer. I did found 1 infuriating thing about OnePlus OxygenOS though: they remove the ability to hide the pattern screen lock trace line.
Good information, thanks! One correction though: the OnePlus Open has three speakers, not four. One of the 3 dots is for aesthetics only (can't remember which one).
The OnePlus Open was my first foldable and the reason that I traded in my iPhone for the Zfold 5 After using the Open slab phones just feel boring and compromised. If I had to choose between the two I would probably end up picking the Zfold 5 just because I prefer OneUI even though the hardware on the Open is better.
Thank you for the video and actually showing how everything works! I’m trying to sell my iPhone 15 Pro Max so I can buy the OnePlus Open. I’m still a bit hesitant as the iPhone always runs smooth, but I’m so bored of phones that I think a foldable would make it interesting!
One good thing about OnePlus is they nailed the smoothness. Switching over will be lots of friction coming from an iPhone. So just be careful and make sure you have an easy path to switch back. I have an iPhone too and its hard to switch because of the ecosystem and all the lock ins
That sucks man. I wouldn't have expected it to take a month to get parts. I think with foldable the best thing to do is buy somewhere where you can get insurance and be able to get instant credit or a brand new one from their inventory. I think going forward, I'm going to mention that in foldable reviews. Thanks for commenting on his.
traded my s23 Ultra on the One Plus Open. I loved it until I didn't. I was watching a video in the kitchen. I closed the phone and walked to my living room. I opened the phone and it had lines all over it. I called One Plus and shipped it in for repairs. They received it 1-19-2024 as of today 2-9-2024 I haven't heard from them. I emailed and chatted and they keep saying someone will get in touch with me. Like I said the phone is great until it isn't. They're warranty and repair is horrible. They're communication for repairs is beyond horrible.
That sucks. Typically I would recommend buying from Best buy or something like that and getting the extended warranty it's extra cost but for smaller companies like OnePlus versus Samsung who have a lot more money to spend on customer service, is kind of necessary
@@consumertechwarehousewhat do you think of phone insurance like tmobile phone insurance (could be any company it doesn't matter) Pay $200 incase anything breaks and get a brand new phone
@@phillatella6470sorry to hear that. I came from fold 4 and was looking at the Fold 6, pixel fold, and of course the one plus. After hearing this I’m scratching my head but I’ve always got warranty with my newer phones but they mass produce phones and there may be a few isolated cases but at this point I may scratch one plus off my list. I’ll just have to think about it. I think more carriers should stock one plus to give them more exposure to grow.
best for what? lightweight?, anti-slip texture?, with stand?, fancy looking?, fall protection?, hinge protection?, special features like card slots, magnets, etc?
I got rid of the one I reviewed but just got a new one so can’t say for certain how long term usage is. But I would recommend getting insurance for it or paying for oneplus’s next day replacement service
No i do not recommend making the fonts small like a iPhone that's one thing i hate about iPhone if you want a iPhone just get one and give your one plus back i need big fonts
The iPhone is what I had next to me. But the scaling and font size is similar to the pixel 8 pro and s23 ultra. I prefer having more real estate. But to each their own.
@@jasonelliot9633 nah man. I hate those videos. I just happened to have the iPhone next to me at that moment. Look at my channel. Mostly windows laptops and android phones with one or two Apple products sprinkled in

I was just talking about the scaling iPhone uses a similar scaling method to every other android phone. Was just pointing out that everything is way too big on the one plus out the box
