Thank you! Try to use 75mm lens or a zoom that goes this far (pretty much any kit zoom lens). It will give you enough distance to feel more comfortable.

What is this obsession with fixed lenses? Get out shooting with all the tools available. I'd have missed loads of shots if I stuck with the fixed lens. There is a snobbery around the prime lens route. I don't see the results among the many who advocate this point of view to justify this way of thinking.

Nothing wrong with zoom lenses, I love them (check out my other videos - plenty about zoom lenses). But for 'training the eye' a fixed lens is the only way. When you have experience and know how you want to frame the scene, zoom can be the right tool. There are some great street photographers using zoom lenses (e.g.: G. Pinkhassov) and many using fixed lenses. Each to their own. There is a freedom (of thought, imagination) in the limitation a fixed lens provides. But I may need to make a video about this to share the message in full. Cheers!

i agree and i think zoom lenses are excellent for beginners. it allows the photographer to experiment with different focal lengths and find out which works best for their perspective

@@d.cassarino so what happens if a someone buys a camera, buys a prime lens, only to dislike the focal length? should they buy a new prime lens until they find a focal length they like?
