My fav 5 would be: Terre D'Hermes (office, formal); Oud for Greatness, Initio (winter, special ocassions); Light Blue Forever, D&G (for extreme heat weather, informal); Aventus, Creed (formal and casual, spring & summer); Explorer, Mont Blanc (informal, everyday use); Bonus: Triumph of Baccus, Argos.
Hi Felipe, it’s interesting I currently 3 of your list, so I guess we seem to have similar taste. So I will try to buy Oud and Light Blue you recommended. Question: which one should i buy first?
Great list! My options as far as designers: Everyday: Terre de Hermes Evening Date-night: JPG Le Male Le Parfum Spring/Summer: Dior Homme Cologne Fall/Winter: Dior Homme Intense Formal: Dior Eau Sauvage Parfum
@@jusderose Thought about two alternative capsules, a slightly more daring one, and a slightly more conservative/subdued one: +Daring: Everyday: Dior Fahrenheit EDT Evening Date-night: Black Orchid EDP (technically a women's fragrance, but very unisex) Spring/Summer: D&G Light Blue Eau Intense for Women (yes, the women's version, similar to Versace Man Eau Fraiche, but better) Fall/Winter: V&R Spicebomb Extreme Formal: Dior Homme Parfum +Conservative/subdued: Everyday: Prada L'Homme Evening Date-night: YSL La Nuit De L'Homme Spring/Summer: Mugler Cologne Winter/Fall: Boucheron Jaipur Formal: Prada L'Homme Intense

For hot climate: 1. Chanel Allure Homme Edition Blanche OR Lemon Line by Mancera 2. PDM Layton OR Cartier L'envol de Cartier 3. Creed Aventus OR Armaf CDNIM 4. Versace Eros Flame OR Regular Eros 5 Acqua DeGio Profumo or Versace Dylan Blue
@@MrBrownstone1 First some of them have been misspelled and second some of them are just social media hyped and smell bad and cheap! that's how i think that he/she lies and comments just for the attention.
La Nuit; my first "darker" scent and may still be my favorite. It really does have a bit of everything. Something fresh, a slight warmth to its sweetness, but even something almost damp/green and foresty to it and it as all done so well, while maintaining an identity.
Hi Josephine. Great video! For me: 1) Day/casual: YSL Y parfum/PDM Layton. 2) Evening/date: Dior homme intense/JPG le parfum. 3) Summer: ADG Profumo or Profondo/Nishane Hacivat. 4) Fall/Winter: Invictus Victory/PDM Herod. 5) Versatile: Prada 'l homme/PDM Percival.
Love this video Josephine. Keep making more of these. If I could only keep 5 fragrances and not more, this would be my list: Everyday: Chanel Platinum Égoïste Evening/ date: Kilian Straight to Heaven (the OG) Spring and summer: Tom Ford Costa Azzurra Fall and winter: Prada L'Homme Intense Formal: Montale Greyland (And just because I can also a cheapie: Tabac Man Gravity) ;)
Some great picks in this vid ! Signature scent - Amouage - Lyric Man or Houbigant - Fougere Royale Evening/Date night - Franck Boclet - Tobacco or PDM - Carlisle Spring/Summer - Al Haramain - Neroli Canvas or Nishane - Hacivat Autumn/Winter - PDM - Layton Exclusif or VC & Arpels - Moonlight Patchouli Formal - Armani Prive' - Rose D'arabie or Dior Homme - Parfum Thanks so much for sharing !! XD
In my opinion: 1. TF Grey Vetiver 2. Guerlain Vetiver 3. Frederic Malle French Lover 4. Amouage Memoir 5. Nicolai New York But to be honest those are just the perfumes I myself use on a daily basis. So if a guy wears one of those, it makes me feel like "wow".
Versatile: Mancera Cedrat Boise, Santal 33 For winter: Mancera Red Tobacco, By the Fireplace For dates: Le Male Le Parfum, Dior Vanilla Diorama Summer: Al Haramain Amber Oud Gold Edition, Comme des Garçons Play Green Formal: Encre Noire, Armani ADG Profumo
OMG, this was like the suggestions I wouldn't know what's called ( Capsules, good to know! ) feels undeniably satisfying to see my quite small collection includes more than half of your professionally tailored and unique recommendations 😊 *Totally unrelated to fragrances, but I Love the color juxtaposition of your gold necklace and the white T. Keep up the good work 👍
Great list! My every day is Prada L'Homme Intense Evening is Azzaro wanted by Night Spring and summer is Rasasi Hawas Winter is le Male parfum And my formal is jet black enigma
My current 5 favs: 1) Nishane-Nefs 2) Bond 9-Dubai Ruby 3) Dior-Homme Intense 4) Killian-Angel’s Share 5) Ex Nihilo-Amber Sky I tried Bohemian Lime yesterday, and I was immediately transported to the 1960’s as it reminded me of English Leather Lime! I don’t know if it is still around. I agree with you that Dior Homme Intense keeps the Iris’s lipsticky note minimized. No one does the Iris quite like Dior Homme Intense. I consider it a masterpiece. I wish Bond no9 would send you samples to review. For some reason it doesn’t get paid enough attention. I agree that Oud for Greatness is unique though it may share some resemblance in its dna to BR540. It could have easily made my top 5 list. Always enjoy your videos!
@@danielstanley9046 I can’t really say I have a signature scent. It depends on my mood. And I don’t want to tire from any scent I love so I tend to rotate my scents. My list of discovered and loved fragrances has expanded and I enjoy the process.
@@danielstanley9046 Nefs is a gem and more suitable for Fall & Winter. Let me add to my list which is always growing as I discover new scents. Floris’ Platinum 22, a new release of a gorgeous Iris wrapped in black currant. EBK Paris’ Deep ‘n Desire/ Yacht (this can only be purchased through them via email).
The 5 perfumes I would keep: Prada l'homme (everyday, office), Chanel Allure Homme Sport Extreme (Versatile), Azzaro the most wanted (night out), Spicebomb extreme (winter) and La Nuit de l'homme (date night, everyday, formal)
Day: Salvatore Ferragamo Uomo Signature. Night: Versace Eros Flame. Summer: Hermes H24. Winter: Armaf Club De Nuit Intense Man. Formal: Parfums De Marly Layton. All of these have excellent performance and are my most complimented fragrances.
I'll go further and simply to once signature scent for every situation and season: Aaron Terence Hughes Violet Delirium. For a designer instead of niche then I'd pick Dior Homme Parfum.
Great video! I was waiting for this!! My idea based on past videos of yours would be Terre D' Hermes for everyday office, Le male le parfum for cold weather evenings and Dior Homme Intense or Parfum as the formal scent Terre D' Hermes and Dior Homme could be interchangeable.
My top 5 so far (in no particular order) 1. Angels’ Share by Kilian 2. Another 13 - Le Labo 3. Musk Therapy - Initio Parfum Privés 4. Tabit - Tiziana Terenzi 5. La Nuit De L’Homme - YSL Edit: going to The Scent Room and Carolina Herrera Boutique in Dallas and will keep these in mind!
Great video Josephine! You always leave a positive impression!🙂 I bought Gentle Fluidity Silver based on your recommendation and this is just fantastic!🔥 I have also ordered a sample Encens Suave, absolutely fabulous scent!!! What do you think about Roja Burlington 1819 and Xerjoff Torino21 as for the summer?
I would do the following All around fragrance: MFK Gentle Fluidity Silver Spring/Summer: Initio Parfum Musk Therapy Fall/Winter: Initio Parfum Oud for Greatness Evening: Parfums de Marly Layton Formal: YSL Tuxedo
Thanks Josephine. I bought goldfield and banks bohemian lime based on your recommendation. It has similar vibe as Xerjoff Torino 21. Greetings from The Netherlands 🇳🇱
1) Day/casual: Agua di gio, Irish Spring, Prada carbon 2) Evening/date: Chanel de bleu (edt) 3) Summer: Irish spring 4) Fall/Winter: Dolce & Gabbana The One 5) Versatile: Irish spring
In my experience, these five are the best: - Tuscan Leather by Tom Ford - Interlude Black Iris by Amouage - Honour Man by Amouage - Red Tobacco by Mancera - L’Homme Ideal by Guerlain
- YSL La Nuit / D&G The One (for night) - Bleu De Chanel (for office) - Chanel Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme / Versace Pour Homme / Chanel Allure Homme Sport (for summer) - 1 million / Invictus (to attract women in day time)
Everyday: Chanel Bleu Parfum Winter: Argos Triumph of Bacchus Spring: Creed Royal Oud Summer: Creed Aventus Cologne Fall: PDM Layton Spring alternative can be Oud for Greatness, and Summer alternative can be Roja Elysium Parfum
1: Armani Aqua Di Gio Profumo 2: Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille 3: Kilian Angel Shares 4: Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Mandarine Basilic 5: Prada Luna Black Luna Rossa
Thank you for this video, what great timing for me; I'm currently building (yes, downsizing, well said :D!) my fragrance collection and starting my husband off with his too. My husband is not that bothered with fragrance so I'm going to keep his olfactory wardrobe pretty minimal. I think 5 for a typical bloke is about right, especially if said bloke has a wife with expensive taste, aha! Thank you for this most helpful, inspiring video. Such fun, as always. My husbands current fragrances: 1) Tobacco Vanille by Tom Ford 2) Herod by Parfums de Marly 3) Mousse Illuminee by Rogue Perfumery 4) Ombre Leather by Tom Ford 5) Gold Myrrh Absolute by Carolina Herrera Confidential 6) Memories by The Gate I'm trying to figure out 2 more to bring it to lucky 8, hence my clicking on your video. He could live with just two but I'm the one smelling him and trying to figure out what his colleagues will most appreciate having to inhale also, ha! Simple pleasures. PS= Random question I wish would become a 'tag' online for the high-end fragrance community in general: Which is the lowest price fragrance you own which stunned you into being a favourite, holding its own in the company of the rest of your high end niche collection? I would offer like to offer two of my cheap and cheerful great loves: 1) Anna Sui Classic from the late 1990s (the one with the gothic black filligree and purple juice). Powdery, soft apricot vanilla musk . It was discontinued for YEARS and then a few years ago I saw it in at the Anna Sui counter in a department store in Tokyo and inhaled sharply then discreetly charged over with my eyes locked on the display bottle and bought a couple of bottles. I shouldn't have been such a tightwad and bought even more, knowing it was a limited edition re-release. It's back now, but again, I think its run is limited which is deeply frustrating and induces a very mild strain of anxiety and helplessness in me. I wish they'd keep it permanently in their line up as it's the only great fragrance Anna Sui have ever release, no offense intended to the brand. I think it's an unsung, overlooked offering in general. 2) Jacinthe et Rose by E Coudray. Similar story to above. It's really hard to find and I fear it too has already been discontinued/is being discontinued. Both are really reasonably priced and perfect after-the-shower/hanging out at home fragrances for summertime. You could wear both to bed. Apologies for this expansion being unrelated to the content of this video, I only wanted to give some background info on why I asked my question at the end :)
Santa Maria Novella Ginestra was an eye opener for me. It was an astonishing new scent for me and really inexpensive when I bought it. I didn’t know I loved their version of broom. I also loved Ma Griffe. It is so inexpensive and so quirky yet elegant. I don’t know if it is still available but it is something I wore decades ago and revisited about 15 years ago and now I can’t live without it.
@@catherinelynnfraser2001 Oh excellent! I'm grateful for your time and effort in replying. Such intriguing recommendations. I keep seeing 'Ma Griffe' mentioned in books and magazines when old, long forgotten classics are the topic. It's my mission now to hunt both Ginestra and Ma Griffe down now. Thank you Catherine! :)
Are the batches of the perfumes encre noir extreme and Mancera cedrat boise recent? There have been a lot of people commenting about being reformulated and having a weaker performance.
@@dani47portugal Well, I bought my bottle of Encre Noire Extreme about 2 years ago and my Cedrat Boise about 1 year and a half ago. ...They seem fine to me. However, I've noticed that Mancera has changed its caps to magnetic ones now and I have a screw-on one, so maybe I have the last batch right before the change. Although, new bottles don't always mean juice reformulations. So it could be all in people's heads. But Encre Noire Extreme? Idk... I don't think so. I haven't heard any rumors about that. Soon I'll be buying a back up bottle of it, so I guess I'll know soon enough.
@@Joa287 I recently bought 2 perfumes to replace the old ones that are almost gone, Spicebomb extreme and Bentley intense and these are from the year 2021 and comparing with the old ones from 2017 , different in terms of projection and sillage , much weaker. 🙁
@@dani47portugal Really? That kinda sucks. I have both of those too. I got them a few years ago. And I recently bought a back up bottle of Bentley Intense, but I haven't opened it yet. I hope it's not too different.
Totally agree with you about vetiver being a great formal scent. You can never offend anyone with it. I'm so gonna put my nose on some of these fragrances recomended here, especially the designer side. I still keep some designer fragrances from the early days of my olfactory journey almost 10 years ago, and it feels so good when I revisit them and realize I still love them as much as the first days. My picks for capsule designer scents would be: (I cheat a little coz I can't decide between these old flames) - Everyday: Bvlgari pour Homme / Gucci pour Homme II - Date night: Guerlain Habit Rouge Dress Code / Issey Miyake L'Eau Bleue d'Issey pour Homme(not really a sexy scent but I remember someone who had a crush on me back then complimented on this perfume) - Summer/Spring: Hermes Un Jardin en Mediterranee / Kenzo Tokyo by Kenzo - Fall/Winter: Lolita Lempicka au Masculin - Formal: Burberry London for Men / Bvlgari pour Homme Soir
HI, thanks for this video. looks like i need to try a lot of different scents now. my faves at the moment are: 1) day/casual :Eau de gentiane blanche, by Hermes 2) evening : Oud & Oud, by Cartier 3) summer : Aventus, by Creed 4) Winter : Oud Touch, by Franck Olivier 5) Versatile :D&G Pour Homme
1. Versatile: Versace Dylan Blue 2. Formal: RL Polo Blue Gold Blend 3. Spring/Summer: Versace Signature 4. Fall/Winter: JPG Le Male Le Parfum 5. Date Night/Out: CH Bad Boy
Great video! My list 1. Everyday : MB explorer 2. Evenings/date : YSL La nuit de Homme 3. Summer : Acqua de gio profondo 4. Winter : JPG le male le parfum 5. Versatile : Dior Sauvage
Would you please write down those perfumes' names? I can't understand the words you say. I love perfumes and I want to get at least one out of your top recommendations. I love the smell of saffron and cardamom.
1. All terrain: Montblanc Explorer 2. Hot weather: Chanel Allure Homme Sport Extreme 3. Cold weather: V&R Spicebomb extreme 4. Office friendly: YSL Y eau de Parfum 5. Special occasion: Tom Ford Ombré leather +6. Romance: Valentino Uomo
Thank you so much for your amazing videos. I look forward to them every week. I have a recommendation for a video “how do you sample fragrances at the store?”. I always find it hard to smell multiple fragrances at once, and at many times I find myself unable to smell certain perfumes after smelling others. If you can film in a store and record your own experience sampling new perfumes, I think that would be very helpful. Thanks again and keep those good videos coming!
Love all Your videos and thank You for the great recommendations. But as a Videographer, can I offer one suggestion? I would hide that lavalier microphone inside your blouse and attach the mic clip to the top of the blouse so just the tip of the microphone can be seen. It’s a small nitpicky detail, but since you take time to light yourself so well and have a great background, why not go the extra step and hide that mic and make it really pop. Just a suggestion. Please keep up the amazing work and excellent recommendations and reviews. Have an awesome day.
Honestly josephine , 2 days back i tried MIB for the first time in a shop on the tester strip,i find the opening really offensive and harsh, and it turned me off, but the drydown was surprisingly masculine and 'nice'.
For me, it's got to be TOM FORD Neroli Portofino. 10 years+ on and i'm still in love with this fragrance from parfum to shower gel to body oil to candle. It's truly my fragrance :)
My go to list...currently sitting at around 50 fragrances, yet I always pick from these.. Gentleman Givenchy Tom Ford ombre leather and noir Dark rebel rider Man in black Bvlgari (a more intense spicebomb)
1. Dior Fahrenheit edt for fall/winter 2. Gentleman reserve privee for the office 3. Fahrenheit 32 for Spring 4. Erba pura sospiro for summer 5. Oud Ispahan by Dior if I'm feelin dirty
A cool video idea could be "unique" summer scents. Most summer parfums are either citrus heavy or based on aquatic notes. Something a bit different like wulong cha, un jardin sur le nil, some diptyque fragrances that are green, fruity or at least in one aspect different to your classic summer fragrances could be really fun to see
1. Everyday : Prada Luna Rossa Carbon 2. Evenings : Le Male le Parfum 3. Summer : Goldfield & Banks Pacific Rock Moss 4. Winter : Acqua di Parma Vaniglia 5. Versatile : Tom Ford Ombre Leather
Mine would be: Fresh everyday: Dior sauvage EDT or armaf club de nuit intense man edt Evening or date: dolce and gabbana the one edp / (I really liked spicebomb extreme but I think its more for winter only. The oud for greatness is a BEAST) Spring and summer: I’d also take the Armaf CDNI Autumn: gurlian lhomme ideal edp Winter: spicebomb extreme Formal: either tom ford oud wood or tobacco vanille
my 5 favourites are: * Tom Ford Black Orchid * Le Labo Vetiver 46.. (for a cheaper version that smells similar : MAN Comme Des Garçons) it use to be Gucci Pour Homme (2003) was my absolute favourite Vetiver but sadly discontinued * Kenzo Pour Homme.. my staple and 1st perfume I bought at the age of 12 and can't live without Lol Kenzo Power for men is also amazing but I think maybe discontinued * Minotaure by Paloma Picasso * Dior Homme Intense.. which I highly agree with you. I was never really a fan of the Versace Jeans perfumes.. but they created Metal Jeans for men at one point that was absolutely magical and unfortunately discontinued and I've never been able to find anything like it ever again.
Josephine thank you for your wonderful reviews. From watching your channel I know you like Chanel allure homme original .I'm wondering to purchase Dior homme original or the chanel original which one do you recommend
Quality video and great choices! I've been looking to grow my collection. Have YSL l'homme and Dior sauvage as my rotation. Considering between MB explorer, Dior homme intense, spice bomb extreme, hawas and Prada l'homme.
If you want something different to what you have, you need to get the DHI or Spicebomb Extreme. The other ones are in the same ballpark of what you already have.
This list was 🔥🔥🔥@Jus de Rose...Definitely ordering samples of that Initio & that Atelier.. Spring:Versace Blue Jeans/ ToyBoy Moschino Summer:Givenchy Gentlemen Cologne/ Light Blue eau Intense Fall: Spicebomb Extreme/ Boss the Scent Absolute Winter: 1 MillionLucky/Mancera Instant Crush Formal: Dior Parfum or Intense or Bvlgari Man In Black. Everyday All Season: Cedrat Boise
That was 6 ;) nice list though - Cedrat Boise is a banger, Instant Crush is a BANGER! Super loud and sweet, could wear that thing to the strip club... not that I would do that or anything lol
1. Le Labo santal 33 (fall/winter) 2. Chanel blue EDP/ parfume (fall) 3. YSL Lhomme (spring) 4. Versace Eros (spring) 5. Tom Ford Noir (better than spicebomb) 6. Creed millesime imperial (summer)
Your reviews are so valuable! What do you think of Aventus Creed? I’ve ordered online for my husband and not seeing it on your list makes me think is not worth the hype…..your perspective always matters x
I don’t mind the scent but i feel there are mixed feelings with the batches. Some are great and longer lasting others more disappointing. I don’t think I’d buy it, I prefer to go for something like MFK gentle fluidity silver (which I did buy 😁)
Fair enough, I’ve heard the same about batches before, I’ll keep it as an option b for hubby, already got him thanks to your recommendations YSL and Spicebomb…..what a treat, at this rate he will have as many fragrances as me 😏😏😏
My Top 5 Niche & Signature fragrances 1 XERJOFF Richwood 2 FREDERIC MALLE Portrait of a Lady 3 EMPORIO ARMANI Stronger with You 4 DIOR Sauvage edt 5 CREED Aventus
I really enjoyed this video it was great! I really like Oud for Greatness it was given to me as a gift from my young sister that she picked up on a trip to Neman Marcus and I really have learned to appreciate it especially in cold winter! I wish I could wear it more often and when I do wear it I have to go very easy like one spray max because it can be almost to much for people I’m around even at one spray. I enjoy it and my bottle is a prize in my collection that I will enjoy for a very long time. Thanks for the great video and the other wonderful recommendations!
1- Sauvage Dior e de parfum 2- Cartier Pasha sport 3- Creed Invictus 4- Dior elixir Got the most compliments with these and this is all I have in my collection
