@Kevin Hines Kevin: do the F1s still require a proprietary laptop from the 90s for diagnostics, or was the program updated to use modern equipment?

The LM is an amazing car and long story short back in '98 a neighbor and I got talking about cars and I was talking about the F1 and he told me he thought his boss had one. I said no way! They are extremely rare. Are you sure? Yeah I am pretty sure. He did. He said his boss said he had to see it before he sold it. He told his boss how much of a fan of the car I was and let me come with my neighbor to see it. Shortening of the story as much as I can as it is hard to as it was an amazing lifetime event. I got to see it on the lift and it was even betterthan I thought because I didn'teven know about the LM. I learned a ton about the car. There is so much to know. He took it down. He told me to go sit in it. I was hesitant. He was assuring. He told me to Rev it up. I was nervous. He told me again to Rev it up. I just gave it a little. He told me to give it more. I did but not a lot. I was just in shock and so appreciative of the opportunity! Then we took the car out! The 3 of us. He had raced professionally and knew what he was doing. It was so frickin amazing!! At a stop light I looked at the vehicle next to us thinking how cool would it be to be in that vehicle looking at this car! I then was like I am in this car! Even better! I was in shock and pretty much could only mostly say Wow for the prior 3 hours. It had brought tears to my eyes. I was 20 at the time and what a dream come true! I will end the story there. I still get goose bumps talking about it and thinking about it.

Keep up the good work, learn every chance you get - especially from the old guys. There will be times where it is frustrating but keep at it. Do good work and the right people will start to notice you and trust you more and more. Also, you will make mistakes just as I have. Take them in stride and learn from them then never make them again. If you feel like you might have what it takes, look up RDS Automotive and send in your resume. We are always looking for people with skills and great attitudes. Good luck buddy!

He takes his money from mclaren not their customers. I mean mclaren has to ensure their customers are happy by making sure their techs or tech in this case is happy. It’s not the customers job to make sure he’s happy it’s mclaren. If mclaren pays him shit and he collects tips from the customers, it’s not going to last beyond a couple of jobs. He represents the brand and the company don’t ever forget that. And if he isn’t happy or satisfied he’ll walk and go independent and there are a great number of independent mechanics out there and any of them would tell you I’m 100% accurate on this….

@@bryanloki6560 you are correct. I know mechanics that fixed cars for certain brands and went to work with European cars like Mercedes and BMW. Then some just said F the dealership I can offer my services and work for ordinary ppl and charge them 1/4 the price the dealership would charge them. Do a good job and they’ll come back or earn more clients from word of mouth.

Most people don't know this but without the 959, a modern day bugatti's wouldn't exist. 959 are dirt cheap and will easily be a $10-20m car in 10-20 years.
