Ay I know I'm a bit late but I've I've a question, you keep saying 'then strafe' live in the bounce vault section. Is strafing just moving or is it more complicated?
16:40 This has changed now with season 8. Walking/sprinting will send you really high but not as far, whereas crouching or sliding will send you further but not as high.
Yeah. You are going places man... Comfortably the best apex guides on youtube. Hopefully your channel sees some exponential growth in the next few months. It'll be very much deserved.
I jitter slide in game a lot and have done it since I started playing. It's actually really good at making you essentially sniper-proof. Most snipers are unable to hit a jitter sliding player moving perpendicular to them. Just dont move towards/away from the sniper.
Just found your vid and I have to say wow. Soothing voice, easy explanation with demonstrations, no nonsense and straight to it with the information. Cant wait to see what else you release moving forward
this is what I looking for cuz I'm a newbie, this video really helpful, I just subscribed and I share to all my friends cuz u deserve to get more subs and viewers :)
Actually THE BEST movement guide EVER made on RU-vid! Very articulate when explaining the steps and very informative when it came to demonstration and showing in game clips! This channel deserves all the likes and subs. I can only imagine the effort that it took to make this helpful guide. Thank you so much!
to the ones that dont get the wall jump: - it is essential to stop pressing any other key when you jump at the wall - try to hear the sound that you make when you smash against the wall that helped me a lot
Something I began practicing more with my wall jumps is that I airstrafe into the wall with a side input. Let go and then bounce off the wall whilst holding the opposite strafe button. Doing this has two benefits. Your bounce gains more momentum and you gain the ability to bounce off smaller walls whereas you would normally lose your momentum to a small climb animation. Mokeysniper has a more in depth tutorial regarding this.
Here on march 7/ 2022 and can vouch this is one of the best movement guide out there. Appreciate the work and will definitely implement this to my gameplay, THANKS!!!.
I remember watching aceu's movement guide when I started playing Apex at the end of season 6 and worked on my Bounce Vault for something like 40h because in my eyes it was the most cool looking mechanic in the game. Mastering mouvements mechanics in Apex improved my gameplay in pretty much every game... Tho I am still working on my map knowledge and gamesense to incorporate these techniques in-game
yooo fyi that took out the jump boost off the jump pad. you no longer get a boost while pressing jump as you hit it. idk when they took it out but it longer gives you a boost. ig bc they added the second jump so they patched that machanic.
Yea unfortunately, Respawn said that the Super Jump got removed as a result of an accidental fix from the Season 7 update. They do however want you to still be able to access the higher arc, so there're plans to put it back in the game, but with a different way of doing it since pressing jump right after jumping off the jump-pad was fighting for inputs. We gotta wait and see because they said they don't feel it's bad enough to warrant a hot-fix.
Dude I watched a 45 min video on the basics with the same techniques and this one by far blows the other one out of the water. What I love is that you add what we are doing wrong too where there it's too late or too early. I haven't even gone through the whole video yet and I couldn't thank you enough for this video 🙏
Omg thank you, i thought i was doing something wrong when i was learning the zip line zig zagging , i couldnt do more than 3 times and i was very frustrated because i saw some guy doing the entire zipline like that, this guide is awesomeee!
The quality of this video is absolutely amazing. this is extremely impressive, can’t believe you have under 1k subs. I just subbed, keep up the great content!
One little tip for the wall bounce, if you have jump bind to both Space Bar and Scroll Wheel Down, use the Scroll Wheel Down when trying to bounce off the wall. This way even if you miss the timing you still get a small bounce instead of glued to the wall and become easy target. (Basically it's like pressing jump when you're climbing up a wall).
@8:29 you left out a very important piece of this - for the wall bounce in order for you to bounce backwards instead of just falling flat to the ground, you have to also pull back (reverse) right as you tap jump when you make contact with the wall, otherwise you will just jump in place and fall right below.
^ this above comment actually isn’t true. i was doing fatigue jumps without knowing it, so i was pushing stick forward to stick to wall, then pulling back to jump straight up in the air, BUT if you want to walk bounce like slide jump wall bounce you don’t have to touch the left joystick at all to bounce off, you just have to press jump when you stick to the wall
yoooo thank you for taking the time to split up ur vid and everything into segments!!!!! this is really comprehensive, and as someone who does most of these already i still learned something! also for anyone who bothers to read this: if you have fast momentum from path grapple or octane jumppad, i personally like to maintain air velocity by sliding off the edges of ledges. if u do this correctly u get a small boost and stay in the air (maintaining ur 1000+ velocity) and redirect horizontally. that way you dont lose speed from sliding too long, as this is faster than just sliding down a steep hill. the drawbacks are 1. its hard to find ledges that line up correctly for you to chain 2-3 of these (esp when you already have to account for your initial landing off a grapple), and 2. if you DO pull it off, you're so fast it's hard to control where you land (my biggest problem is smacking into a wall at 1200 at the end and losing all my momentum). its initially hard to memorize what ledges work and where, but loot crates, supply drops, fences and even enemy heads are all fair game. (i once slid off someones head while landing and proceeded to zip right off the map lmao) i think its something to do w the game trying to force you to not collide w objects when you're going that fast so instead it boosts you out. im probably wrong since im not a dev LOL (also if ur path makes a 2nd zipline right next to the a first one--god forbid WHY--you can dodge bullets by switching between them)
Btw for anyone confused with bunny hopping try doing it with a gun, each hop should involve your gun doing a little bob up and down (it looks really awkward but trust)
Here’s a list of anyone needs it . Integrate ‘slide 180’s’ into your regular playing, possibly during fights in order to increase distance from enemy while maintaining vision . Integrate ‘slide strafing’ into your regular playing style to move around corners and change direction with speed and in an unexpected manner . Use ‘ledge sliding’ to integrate a smooth transition between sliding and running. After climbing a ledge slide in the pause animation. . ‘Edge and reverse edge sliding’. Slide off edges backwards and forwards to gain speed. . ‘Wall jumping’ can be used with any wall by running towards it, jumping then pressing jump when hitting it and transferring their momentum forwards. . ‘Wall volt’. Momentum from wall jumping can also be transferred over the wall to jump over the wall without climbing . ‘Forward climbing’. If you hold forward towards and wall while climbing it, you can change your direction of climbing and not fall off.
There is something to be noted about BHop Healing: if you are moving on *ANY* angle downward, with a good strafe you can still achieve momentum gains while healing, more situational, but it works : ) Super good visuals and explanations thanks for making this.
11:41 It's probably been said already, but I'm too lazy to check the comments XD You can still b-hop heal with some legends. The way the nerf works is that it puts a cap on your velocity while healing, however movement abilities override that cap, allowing for b-hop heals. Examples that come to mind are Octane's stim, Bangalore's double time passive and Bloodhound in his Ultimate.
For those on console it’s completely possible and you don’t need to play on claw or have some fancy setting although that makes it easier, I got it down in about 2 hours. Just in training mode and doing it in matches now, it’s really fun and a useful mechanic thanks for the tutorial!
You only have 1340 subs but your video quality is insane.I really hope you will become big content creator someday. Keep up this great work love you man
Don't think I saw you mention it, but jumping seems faster than zipping downwards, so if you want to drop fast but avoid the speed debuff from landing, you can just hop down near a zip and latch on with E at the very end to avoid the debuff.
For slide jump strafing, another way to do it is to tap strafe, you can slide jump and then instantly look to your right or left, and spam tap W, your forward key. It redirects your movement to either the right or left.
There is one zipline movement that I enjoy using, on a vertical zipline, fall straight down and don't connect until the bottom of the zipline. Then connect to it and immediately disconnect. What this does is break your fall, so I call I the "Zipline fall break". It's been helpful usually when trying to evade enemies as I can immediately start going any direction with the zipline without the fall cool down.
Dude I just downloaded apex a few months ago and you have given me my first kill leader, all "win match as" badges. Plus U don't recommend switching jump to scroll 😂😉
Congrats brother!!!! Yea definitely assign a secondary jump input to scroll. I talk about that in the Movement Guide Part 2 where I teach how to tap strafe and super jump.
@@nexxusty Spend an hour doing it, you'll get it plus you only use the wheel for jumping when you want to spam jump to bunny hop etc, you don't need to if you're just regular jumping
the mid air strafe when jumping in 3:45 is impossible in controller, no matter what u do its impossible. That's y I want to switch to m&k. On controller It will turn to the direction u choose by a bit making it not useful.
I have the same problem, I play on PS4 and I can only do the basic air strafe. It might be possible with a controller with turbo mode. The player Mulvana tap strafe on controller but she play on pc with a program that gives her turbo mode, here's the video : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RsBt8-zkEd0.html
There's another technique with the zipline that can allow you to skip fall fatigue. If you're near a zipline and want to prevent fall fatigue and boost your momentum, drop to the bottom of the zipline and grab the zipline at the very bottom while simultaneously pressing crouch or jump. It takes precision and timing but it's fairly easy to master
This video helped me out immensively! I've been wondering about all the weird movement some opponents do like kicking before landing or rotating the view while riding a vertical zipline. I thought it was all to "show off". Little did I know they actually serve a purpose other than trying to look "pro" :P
This just gave me a headache. Awesome and, at the same time I'm trying to figure out how to use them all ehne I can barely focus on not getting shot... Lol
same thing with me for b-hopping. I have my weapon equip's on scroll down and up, so I couldnt get used to using a different key for weapon equip, it just felt way slower. Thanks for the guide.
This is the best video I've ever seen for Apex in any sense. Got straight to the point explained everything very well, and never got off topic. Amazing hope your channel keeps growing
I opened this video being sure that I already know every technique I need to know and only 2 mins in I see something I've never saw or heard about before
Damn they really did you dirty changing jump pads so much, pretty much that entire section is now wrong, except punching the jump pad to go straight up lol. If I missed it somewhere in this video I'm sorry, but you really should have mentioned tap strafing. Especially for Octane players, that's like cheat codes. Instantly bumps your game up a notch.
Bro they nerfed everything... I didn't even know they nerfed the ziplines.... I watched a movement guide but it was out of date, so I was trying to do things on a zipline but always fall down. Now I know why.
I just started playing like a few days ago and honestly I’m on controller but all these tips helped you so much you don’t even understand my game play changed after a few of ur videos and a good day of practice
For the mid-air strafing, it is harder to do on console, so like in the bhop strafing, look the way you want to go and it will make you move significantly more.
If you use a jumppad and strafe against a flat wall and than press W, you can actually wall run. That's new with Season 7 I guess. This technique is probably not intended and will be removed soon but it is really op especially as Octane main. You can use this on wall / ceiling.
Just a small note (I'm late lol), you can still bunnyhop heal and be slightly faster than normal walking while healing, but it's pretty hard to do and missing one jump will stop the chain. Also, with Horizon, if you strafe while bhop healing, you can actually go quite fast and gain momentum from a stand still while healing.
Dude mad respect for the effort put into this video. This video allowed me to learn how to bounce vault, as other guides were either confusing or not explained well enough. I also learned a bunch of mechanics I didn't know were possible like slide jump strafing. The in game examples were also HUGE as I would ask myself "but when could I use this?" just to have you blow my mind. This video truly was, the only movement guide i needed! Easy sub from me. Keep up the really good content dude! Also, is it still possible for me to do a sliding b-hop when I have toggle crouch on? I play on controller
Such a good guide! I am having trouble with the "bounce vault". My bounce takes me too far from the wall to strafe back over it, and it takes more time then just climbing the wall. I cannot replicate that fluid way you hop to the top. Any advice?
It's a lot easier if you learn air strafing. Look it up. Essentially, pressing W key many times repeatedly to force the direction move. You can also key bind W to your mouse wheel.
12:40 You can also do this to fall to the bottom and do a zipline grab > jumping off of it to keep momentum when you hit the ground instead of having to recover from falling.
I cant land the Bounce Vault on the lower walls, I can do the high walls and then jump the lower walls. I can't seem to land a smooth wall bounce onto the lower walls. It keeps going into the wall climb animation and then I can press jump for wall bounce but I'm losing the momentum to get higher than the lower wall to get over it. any help? Edit: found the solution. when trying to bounce on smaller lower walls/objects press d or a just before hitting the wall. (which keys depends on the direction your going when you face the wall, just hit the left or right strafe that will keep you moving to your intended direction)
Don't touch any keys on your keyboard. Face the wall and jump (easier if you have jump on scroll wheel). For long time I was holding W or other keys while facing the wall midair and it was a main mistake. After realising it, it's not problem anymore.
Hold forward as well. The most important part of the bounce vault is the angle of entry and then pointing your camera where you wanna go after you wall jump.
I am absolutely shocked that you don't have more Subscribers. This video is so well made, and easily understandable. I hope your channel blows up for sure.
Thanks for the great tips bro, but one thing you didn't mention was the super jump off of climbable stuff, in which you have to press jump and crouch both together just as the climbing animations finish and that will give you a jump, like jumping off of a zipline.
Hey man your absolutely welcome! You're referring to Super-Gliding, however this video was made a year ago when Super-Gliding wasn't even a thing, so that's why it's not in here. I was gonna make a Super-Gliding video specifically but that was around the time Respawn was going back and fourth about removing it. Now there're so many superglide guides that I'm not sure it makes sense to even make.
Eventually......the movement becomes the reason why we play......the movement feels so good in this game.....the flicks.....the slide hops......ledge sliding.....pathys grapple sling shotting.....sliding into pads to fly further faster......I play for movement.....it keeps me coming back
Monkey!! I will always use this video and your aiming tips video as a reference. It's a process (a slow one for me), but your videos have helped immensely!
