What about... For cruising ! It's so nice to cruise around the city with soft large wheel ! Plus great to learn the basics of moving, pushing etc for beginners.
They’re good for the days that the homies want to skate but you’re not really feeling it. It’s easy to push around, and because it’s a different type of board you just do easy tricks
If you’re a surfer or you want to develop flowy style you absolutely must own a cruiser board. First time I ever dropped into a bowl was on a Santa Cruz land shark. They teach you how to maximize your comfort level on your board and are a thousand times smoother for traveling and bombing. I feel as if any skater will benefit from spending some time on a cruiser
I have one that I only use for transportation when it's raining, if it's dry I take my regular board. I live in the Seattle area so the cruiser is perfect this time of year when it's super rainy and wet all the time
Another reason to have one is because it's fun... I like to try skating different boards/setups, even if it's challenging. Might make you look at things differently or do things you've never thought of/tried before. IMO.
Having a cruiser is great for your everyday life it's really practicle and i can just strap it to my backpack but i definitely use it to be faster than just walking rather than to do any trick
My cruiser is a regular deck with avenue suspension trucks and light-up LED soft cruiser wheels. Super smooth and quiet ride, but I can still do all the basic tricks. 👌🏻
OJ 55mm Super Juice wheels are great for shredding in the streets! a bit harder to lock into ledges, almost impossible sometimes lol but if you have rough streets in your area than a cruiser setup is a must imo
I love this video. Because I live in NY and have a cruzer for getting to work. And when I know I'm hitting the park after work I always know im going to sweat my ass off because it take more effort to push on reg board. Never even though about it from a filmers point of view. Dope.
I use Spitfire Chargers (85duro) on a twin tail (ishod) 8.38 with rails. Strictly for commutes and parking block boardslides while waiting for the train. And bombing the little hills in DTLA.
I used to JUST cruise on a cruiser but now that ive been skating for awhile now, i havent been using my cruiser as often and it saddens me ALOT :*) i should find time to JUST cruise eh?
Not only is a cruiser board quieter it's also a lot smoother, could be turnier (depending on how it's set up) and it's a lot easier to pump and roll over bigger rocks and sticks because of the larger and softer wheels. It's such an obvious choice for people have have ridden a very well set up cruiser or longboard. How does one set up a cruiser? Find a shape that you like with a kicktail and flat front then put an angled riser on the front truck with some medium soft Venom or Reflex bushings. Makes turning at any speed much smoother and more controllable. Then some good quality bearings with the softest and biggest wheels that will fit and you have yourself a mind blowingly carvy/surfy and controllable cruiser. You might just end up preferring to cruise and bomb hills instead of street skating like I did.
I've been on and off on cruisers for a while. I use cruisers for distance, plus it's really fun and challenging doing little things like ollieing up curbs.
I am a skater who comes from longboarding, i found having a cruiser is the best to get around!! You can do hills more comfortly and still do some skating!! You know, different board for a different situation
I have a cruiser I guess. It’s a Creature fish(ish) twin tail, but I do actually like it on pump tracks and bowls. My first board was a fishtail that I found when I was a kid, and though popsicles were already I thing I didn’t have one for years. I learned my first tricks on that board and will always have a soft spot for them.
I love my cruiser just to go fast and go on like long cruises when I'm not trying to do tricks or nothing, I just like the speed and smoothness sometimes
I have a longboard and a popsicle board but I’d like a cruiser for when I want to either go further easier, or just have a more relaxing ride but still be able to Ollie and do some other basic tricks
People underestimate the cruiser. I started skating a 70s board cause I wanted that Dog Town experience and I got hooked. Nothing like hitting coping on Indy 109s or Ace 00's. It's a whole different feel. Some things are harder but that makes it more fun. It hones in your skills on a regular board. I have way too much fun on my cruiser boards.
Traditional cruiser boards will always be fun no matter your skill level, but I’ve found just having a way larger set up with fat wheels is a better way to cruise if you still wanna get some tricks out, I rock 159 indys and it gives me the option to work with a bunch of fun sizes and shapes 🤔💪🤷♂️
No cruiser deck just cruiser wheels for me. I ride either an 8.38 or 8.5 on indy 149's, slap on some oj mini super juices for cruising/ getting to work and some bones or f4s for tricks and parks.
I got one when i went to hawaii for the first time when i was 7. i still have it till this day 14 years later but it's just decoration/keep sake item. i don't think cruisers are needed unless you film. I'd rather bring my board to do tricks along the way if i skate anywhere.
To make it easier for me is I just use a skateboard with my bigger wheels and I just skateboard my board like that without having to take an extra board with me😀its hard to actually skateboard doing tricks with my setup, but I'm use to it now and I just love the not much noise when I skateboard😀
I have a cruiser board that's because I barely learn how to ride and it's much easier to ride than the skateboard. I've been skating a little over a year and I know how to ride switch and I don't think I'll be able to learn how to ride switch if I did it on the regular skateboard
I wanna compact cruiser (26-28") cuz i need a more sophisticaded way of transportation than a my 31" trick board, also im not a teen anymore i dont think Im gonna hit the parks again. Just wanna make the transportation more fun.
Not a bad idea, I heard keeping a board in your car can cause it to loose it’s pop and just wear out faster from the extreme weather. Not sure how true it is but I’d rather risk a cruiser than my main board.
