Glad to see RPG techno on the channel. I’ve been running scrapnel RPG build (ran it this past outriders Thursday). Fixing wave quartermaster is a better alternative to pain launcher, though I love the pain launcher skill. Once they fix the bug a scrapnel/pain launcher/tools could be fun. Fun fact about fixing wave with quartermaster and the minigun. Fixing wave doesn’t stop you from shooting the minigun so you can literally hold down the trigger on the mini gun, his fixing wave as your ammo gets low and repeat. Lots of fun on the final arbiter.
I've been using a similar build forever. First Things First mod doesn't work with RPG - can be tested by shooting then reloading to get FTF working, then activating the rocket launcher and checking inventory. The 30% is lost. no mods work except deathronome. All the stats on the primary gun work for some reason, so best to have Armor Pierce, Status, and Skills Leech. By not having status on primary gun you would miss out on 30% damage. Fixing wave is so much easier to reload the rpg I've found, and I only need 8 grenades with it. I.e. just the Bang for your buck mod. And that way I don't need the grim inventor's set. I only need the mod for Fixing wave that makes it give me full ammo, and that way I am not using a bunch of slots for the pain launcher which really doesn't benefit the build aside from getting ammo and giving access to Techbond. Other mods which can be added instead of pain launcher mods are: radical therapy, power assimilation, virulent compound, breathe in (20% less cd on fixing wave), Danger Close, Freezing Boost. I go middle tree to be unkillable with as much anomaly as I can get extra, but there is a world where I could use Scrapnel or pain launcher with no mods and the bottom tree.
Minigun works way better on boss dps whilst rockets on adds/captains but i see you built around Rockets so it makes sense to use them. I run a Scrapnel/TOD/Cold snap build with 3 pieces of Torrential Downpour. It wrecks but am collecting pieces to make a Grim Inventor build
FM, I tried Trigger Twitch Dev and I absolutely love it. I highly recommend it for your own enjoyment. I would like to see a build to see what I should be improving, but it's pretty straightforward. In the meantime, I'll be adding this **Kim Jong-Un** build to my list of things to try.
I agree this is pretty cool to run. But I'm using Techmonger Turrets (2 turrets), Cold Snap, and the Pain Launcher. With a mixture of bottom tree and middle tree. I'm set in on all AP first then use what ever you want. And my PAx tree is the top tree bottom line. Very viable to run.
Man, I want to try more builds, but I find it frustrating mucking around with the gear in stash and points in skill trees. Would be awesome to have a ‘world of Warcraft’ style ‘build switch’ system.
I had a similar setup but I gave up on the bugged set and having to micromanage swapping armor pieces to keep the bonus available. I had a much better time using flame leper set head, pants, and boots, with grim chest and gloves. All damage mods against those affected by toxic, damage mods for pain launcher and ToD, explosion radius for ToD, CDR for fixing wave/pain launcher, and additional rockets for pain launcher. It’s a hell of a lot better time with ammo using fixing wave and still dealing huge amounts of damage. Though it’s not much, you still get a little additional damage source from blight fire.
Also have a couple different builds for flame leper, each different. It’s a pretty well-rounded set with great bonuses. Full toxin build with resist pierce minigun and toxic effectiveness (interesting but not the greatest), rocket launcher build benefitting from lots of % damage increase mods, a very weird but very effective cryo turret build as well. I’m looking to see what else I can do with the leper set, lots of possibilities with it.
The damage for the rocket launcher should be much higher than what it is currently. I mean come on, It's a freaking rocket launcher!! Until PCF buff the skill, this build will be go into the category of "it's fun to switch things up every once and a while, but doesn't have the damage and clear speed to be a main build". Unfortunately most builds go into this category. Players will almost always choose the most efficient build. I was so excited to try this skill when the game dropped, but since release it has always been not quite good enough to use more than once in a while. Maybe I'm just spoiled as a pyro main, being used to deleting a map full of enemies in a few button presses
I love the Tools of Destructions skill (pain launcher can die tho 🤮) but the Grim Inventor set is just useless. Like literally on paper and in action useless. As in almost as useless as the Chronosuit for the Trickster. You can do a better setup with the Borealis or Flame Leper set with infinite ammo on your Rocket or Minigun by using the Quartermaster mod for Fixing Wave. To your credit though I would argue this is probably the best setup for using this set.
Bro, every channel that covers outriders show the same builds. If you are planning to watch more videos that cover this game then you better get used to it
