"The Only Way Out" is a song recorded by English singer Cliff Richard, released in 1982 as the lead-single for his album Now You See Me, Now You Don't. The song was written by British guitarist Ray Martinez. The song reached number 10 in the UK Singles Chart and reached the top 20 in Australia, Belgium, Finland, Ireland, the Netherlands and Switzerland.
Played on my Alan Brason Custom Stratocaster fitted with Kinman FV-HMS pickups on Bridge position through an Alesis Quadraverb Q2 with EFTP patch 0-36

Hi Phil! A great song here and not one that I knew before but it works really nicely on guitar as an instrumental. Could almost have been something that The Shadows themselves might have recorded around this time period. Super sound and playing with a very cool backing track. Thanks for the great comments Dave ! So glad you liked it - the ending was a bit repetitious - Ad-libbing is hard to Tab so I kept it straight. - people usually turn off after 1.5 min average anyway lol All the best Phil

Thanks Allan - I didn't know that one even though its got 765 million YT views ! I gave it a listen and to be honest I don't think it would work well as an instrumental - there are too many long gaps in between his singing which doesn't translate well into notes on the guitar. I think the song is good because it relies on his voice embellishment, The ones that work well for me are the ones with loads of notes with minimal gaps . But thanks for the suggestion.. Good Evening Phil, a song with beautiful words heard the first time in 42 years as an instrumental and obviously sounds fantastic when you play it. As always the A B C Strat's tone couple with your touch and the lovely BT was a great listen. Enjoyed fully. I find the background a bit dark than usual in this vid. Very pleased you liked this requested one Krishna - yes you are right the video turned out a bit darker than expected. I thought I had got away with it as it was a sunny day but foggy when I made the video and whenever there are shadows the video exposes for the brightest part. I normally close the curtains and turn the lights on when this happens. LOL All the best Phil
