I would normally roast you, I would show you how top runners with or without calculators are better than all of this comment section combined. How combined play time of all top runners is probably longer than you live. How calculators are small part of the run and calling grinding 12 hours a day “calculating your way to wr” is so wrong and so ignorant. But I won’t, I really feel bad for you. I mean if you actually think that your comment is correct, illumina is the only world record contender that doesn’t use calculators and he is the only good runner, you are naive and let’s put it nicely… not intelligent. I do not even mean to offend you right now, just please, start thinking. I assume you either are A LOT younger than me and you will grow up or this is permanent. I wish that it’s the first scenario
Even when illumina is going easy, half trolling some of the time, he can still manage to get a sub 25… Two years ago that was a gigachad speed. It just goes to show how far speedrunning has come lol

You told it just right. Speedruners shold use their head not calculators. If you allow bots than you can allow anything. If you can use bot to calculate for you than you can use TAS to "play the game" for you.

@@kristianbelopotocan2714 I was totally fine with everything until the calculator tbh. Since anyone can click a single button to pop up the F3 screen it wasn't a big deal. But not everyone can download the calculator and use it well unless they have a second monitor or some other setup so I think that they made the wrong decision with allowing that
I'd argue that a good rule would be banning settings changes during runs. This means that pearl hanging is disallowed since you change your render distance, but zero cycle is fine.
well what if i have a bad pc and cannot play on entity distance above 50 when im in the overworld, but in the end i have to turn it to atleast 100 to see the dragon??? Do i have to suffer from lag in the overworld? The better solution is to ban RENDER DISTANCE changes specifically. Although that will kill monuments, which are meta for this category (u only need a fort so that saves a lot of time).

@@LukeNasti Java players use their F3 screen to find bastions, fortresses and treasure chests. They also use the F3 screen to find the correct place to dig down for the stronghold.
yep. a speedrun that takes skill to do well in. what a shocker. Thats not to say that rsg doesnt take skill, but a lot of the decision making and a decent number of skills are removed from the run due to the use of tools
@@Noah-lj2sg so without F3 that run would've ended right away probably. idk about sub 10, that would involve incredibly much luck. we only got 2 sub 10s so far, and it took lots of skilled runners several months with using F3 and calculators
By mojang's definition, beds doing damage is in fact "intentional game design" why not just make the rules no changing settings mid run, instead of specifically banning pearl hanging? Sounds like a good principle in general.
1 more rule could be no pausing, or worded differently, menus still count to in game time. There was some controversy around how pausing should be handled. I think it would also work well with the rest of the proposed ruleset.
@@castlebeki That's quite literally how every other game is speedran lol. There are games that have a 2 hour long speedrun and pausing still counts towards time
@@castlebeki not really, a lot of Minecraft speedrunning is making quick and calculated decisions. If you keep pausing to think then it gives you more of an advantage, unless it also counts towards your total time
not hypervanilla runs look so cool with the all the advancements the community made in order to be faster but this feels so refreshing, seeing a runner actually play the game and not reset 800000000 seeds
Illumina really is the GOAT, but I wish he was interested in doing more modern strats. I would be so hyped to see what an instance-wall, f3, pie-chart, 0-cycle, grinding Illumina is able to do

@@wonderstruck. how would it be more boring? Zero cycle allows faster runs, and Wall, mapless, and F3 allow for like 2.5x the enters at least. I’d rather spend my time on a stream watching someone go though seeds faster and get lots of good enters. I don’t see how staring at a loading screen for the whole time without mapless on single instance barely getting sub 4/3 enters is anything but more boring

F3 always seemed less legit to me, this is a much better experience. Also I hope they separate 1.16.1 from other newer versions. Too bad speedrunners dont deal with brutes
Yesssssss, This is so much more better than current speedruns. I would also add you can calculate yourself if you want, just no background computer assisted calculation. And also, you have to generate seeds one at a time.
How are you going to calculate anything without f3 anyway? And generate seeds one at a time is litterly a rule he mentioned(no multiple instance or something like that) no?
If someone does think of a strat that does involve calculation though, I think they should be allowed to do so as long as it doesnt break any of the other rules.
I suggested that in discord and people were saying IGT is easier to time by and it close enough to RTA w/o loads if no one pause abuses and no one running this category will
@@_mark_3814 - The reason for no pausing is more than simply loading or pause abuse. It's also for setting change abuse, like reducing render distance to hang pearls.
I like this kind of speedrun cause at least i understand what's happening ^^ Also it seems like something I can try, I don't understand how mods work at all
I actually agree with this. Speedrunning has lost a lot of its flavor in favour of optimisation. Doesn't feel genuine anymore. Hyper vanilla all the way

This is the way speed running should be. I still can’t believe that calculators are allowed for finding strongholds in RSG, it literally turns every speed run into a tool assisted speed run
