Instagram- AdamTheWooATW I’ll always have a massive soft spot in my heart for the original show but honestly this was pretty fun. Thankful the attraction remains and wasn’t torn out. My review …they didn’t ruin it and will probly learn to really enjoy this version over time
You know, I'm glad they didn't tear it out, because it would break my heart, but as kid, I'm thinking 'there's so many other things I could be doing." It seems like an attraction for an attraction's sake.
Nostalgia for the "way things were" is a constant if you live long enough to see things get updated and changed or made obsolete. As a middle aged man you are only starting to feel that shift.
I hope they never change the Tiki room, one of my family’s fondest memories is getting our very first dolewhips and eating them inside the tiki room while we watched the show for the very first time, we were amazed and I remember my 14 year old son saying Mom they’re looking at us! Talking about the Tikis on the support columns. Pure Disney magic.
They already changed it once and it was abysmal and had to change it back... Don't think they will make the same mistake twice. This is Disney though... always a risk.
Hello Woo I just have to say thank you for all of the sweet memories I have enjoyed on you trips to D.L. My family lived on the west coast in L.A. when I was a young girl, (60's) We lost our father in 1973, so as you are walking through the park I'm thinking ❤"I remember that ". Thank you again Woo. Safe travels.
There is no argument that the original was superior...but they're still just as cute as ever. Big Al is adorable as can be. Bare Necessaties was fitting.
Thanks Adam for sharing g I thought they were never going g to bring it back have fun be safe on your travels can't wait to see what the future holds for you
I haven’t seen the original CBJ show in over 40 years. I watched the new version a number of times and really thing it’s a pretty good family/kids type show. Then - for reference - I watched the original on RU-vid and was blown away at how clever, creative and hilarious it was. Since it was originally meant for the Mineral Springs ski resort, you get the feeling the humor was meant to be more adult-centric. There are so many things that would never be part of a new show now like references to shooting, sexual promiscuity , and misogynistic fat jokes. For instance … Henry refers casually to Trixie as ‘our lovely cuddle of fluff’… LOL. Times were just different 50 years ago … but it was a great show. And Walt knew that Disney was for parents, too. I hope that Marc Davis’ humor doesn’t become extinct in the park, because he is the Imagineer that has made it what it is today.
Only a few months younger than you, 50 in May, but I grew up in California and lived through three versions of the Country Bears before it became Winnie the Pooh. Yes it takes getting used to but it's still the Country Bears! Side note, Pooh is my daughter's favorite ride at Disneyland and she has loved every video of the new Bears so far. Just shows that after 69 years, the parks keep becoming new for future generations to fall in love with like we did. We always have videos for our nostalgia.
It’s not like it was new to kids in the 90’s but we fell in love with it anyway. Maybe the next generation needs to learn to appreciate the classics instead of Disney trying to change the classics for the worse for the next generation. If this is any indication of what will happen to other shows like the Tiki Room and Carousel of Progress then there will be no good shows left in the Magic Kingdom and the park will lose all touches of Walt and the amazing imagineers from his era like Rolly Crump, Marc Davis etc.
I miss watching the country bears growing up. Glad I got to see them in your video. Have you seen the country bears movie on Disney plus if so what do you think of it.
Adam that looks cool will see that soon hope you can come here soon to laurinburg also not far from Carowinds and Myrtle Beach come when you can bring your parents on your road trip they seem like wonderful folks as you!! Enjoy your day ❤
I do like the Zootopia song they put in the new Country Bears show, it is a good song and has NOT been done to death in every parade and nighttime show.
Hey Adam the Woo!! Great video (as ALWAYS) remember the tiki room show was changed and then changed back! It’s to bad that they took out the Davy Crocket song One of my favorites from that ride! From your video it seemed that they not only changed the Big AL song to the coco song but the length of time Big Al is shown for has been shortened. That is to bad!! Take care thanks for the video and review
Hello Adam. The Country-bears Jamboree was cute. We’ve never been in a show before so to us this was great. Reimagining the old and making it different takes some getting used to I’m sure. Thank you for sharing it with us. We saw a cyber truck in Anaheim a few days ago. Interesting looking vehicle 🚗 😅 Have a wonderful, magical day!
They could have moved the theater with the Hungry Bear Restaurant, now they’ll have to rebuild the show if they destroyed the legendary California figures
@@StinkyGringo yup, the parks a mess, but they should have moved the show since the beginning, or at least build the pooh ride somewhere else back then
One day Adam, one day I hope you'll do a full ride through of the WDW railroad. It's my favorite lazy ride. Question for you though, if you know you're not going to be there early in the morning why not park at Epcot and take TTC monorail?
From what I saw I do like that the personality of the bears are still the same especially with Big Al. Yeah he sings Remember Me but in a way that he would sing it.
ATW, thanks for your CBMJ reimagined attraction…..in a very diplomatic way …..you gave your honest opinion of another classic attraction being hit by Disneys “ Wokeness”….. I first visited WDW In June 1973…..I’m glad I saw SM, CBJ and POTC original versions for many years….I go to the parks once a year for at least one week….maybe I’ll be lucky to meet you one day…let you know I’m a big fan of your channel…..👍🏻🫡
Re: carousel of progress. The voice in it now is not the original voice. (You can look up the original from the Disney TV show online). If they changed it once they can change it again…
@@TheDailyWoojust jumping in on my hubby’s comment to say we’re so excited to see all your international travels next year, and so happy to see how excited you are about it! ❤ You should come to Australia, lots of filming locations here like the Matrix trilogy and MI2 filmed in Sydney, lots you’d love here 🇦🇺
The reason the wait was so short is that there is literally no demand for this. The only people watching it before were those watching for nostalgia and Disney history. They’ve now ruled those folks out and are hoping to appeal to some imaginary audience that “wants” Disney songs remade in country western style. That is literally nobody.
"Liver Lips" is a name for an alcoholic, Romeo went straight edge, @TheDailyWoo and he lost his monicker for being a drunk bear! that's my head canon, but I do miss the OG songs!
I love the update, loved the song choices also. My kids originally didn’t understand the old show now they will! I’m happy for this update and I won’t be moaning about going on it in the future and not just for a sitting environment for air conditioning.
actually it is just an excuse for getting air conditioning. This new show is for very small children. It wasn’t originally meant to be understood by small children. Maybe if I get to bring my grandchildren some day I’ll enjoy some air conditioning. If DisneyWorld is still around.
I agree with you Adam on this. I’m sad and a little thrown off by the changes and different songs (they wouldn’t be my top choices for the show). but also glad they kept the country bears. (it’s always been one of my favorites )
I feel exactly like you at least the basic ride stays in WDW . I agree the carousel progress needs some lovin 😊 . WDW has a lot of nostalgic fans and love that they seem to be listening and doing a balance act of modern but not completely destroy the vibe.
On my first visit to Country Bears around 2012 I had two thoughts: (1) Lines like “mama don’t whup little Buford , I think you should shoot him instead” and “every guy who turns me on turns me down” are some of the funniest things I’ve ever heard. And (2) Disney will eventually change these lines because 2 people complained even though millions of people have enjoyed them. Sad to say i was right. Hopefully they get real leadership one of these days and start restoring all the attractions that people loved.
Seeing what’s happening right now in the parks just gives you that sinking feeling of “could my favorite attraction be next?” In fairness, I will admit that there were years where we skipped the CBJ. Still, the original show was great and I will always have fond memories of watching it with my grandfather who loved to laugh at Big AL.
Thanks for the Heavy Metal Mickey fix. And thanks for the warning that it will have to suffice for at least a month while you travel. The children’s voices in the background saying hi to HMM were cute. As long as Heavy Metal Mickey doesn’t change, I’m good.
I've said this elsewhere, but I actually quite like the new show! The original was a classic but my favorite version of the Jamboree was Vacation Hoedown, which hasn't been present in any domestic parks in about 20 years, so a new show in that same vein with plenty of jokes is a welcome change. I'm just so happy the bears got to stay in the face of all the changes coming to Disney.
I don’t understand why they just couldn’t leave one of the theater’s original version and change the other. But whatever. People changing history so changing attractions is inevitable.
I still have a plush of Big Al with a realistic vinyl face from the ‘70’s that I will NEVER part with🥰 At least WDW keeps their nostalgic attractions when ºoº land does a “best remove them” ways of change😆 Did they keep the younglin’s bear when he squeaks him at the end of a hoe down song, Adam?? You spoke about it but didn’t say if they did or not. 😁😀
Hey Adam 🤗 Do you ever get invited to the media events and previews etc. and you prefer not to go, or do you not get invited? Also wishing you safe travels for today 😊 xx
That 4th act of COP is such an embarrassment. It belongs restored and functioning daily in the Smithsonian. The bean-counters can write it off their taxes.
