disclaimer: i am no skincare expert/dermatologist/etc. just trying out products on my oily-combi skin. I also get that my skin isn't as acne-prone as some other people who use these products to control more severe kinds of acne (cystic + rosacea, etc.).
tldw; this is pretty decent stuff for oil control (niacinamide) and softer skin (hyaluronic acid). if you live in a tropical climate country (e.g. SINGAPORE), I think they work a little differently than what you'd expect though in the long run it'll probs make a difference!!!

What's the order you apply it in?
HA then Niacinamide one after the other, in the morning after I rinse my face with water (no facial wash)!
How do you apply it?
I squeeze a droplet on my palm and then pat it into my face with my fingertips. Also, I make sure my face is damp before I get HA on!
Do you use a moisturiser?
I only used it in the beginning 2 weeks when my nose started peeling! Ever since I started applying the products on damp skin, there wasn't any peeling = no need for moisturisers.
Do you use these products daily?
Yes.
Are these products good for oily skin?
I believe so, based on Google/The Ordinary explanations online, both HA and Niacinamide are targeted at reducing sebum/oiliness in their own unique ways (hydration, pore minimisation, etc.). Its worked for me so far but like I mentioned, try in your own capacity because skincare products probably work a little differently with everyone's skin.
How long do you leave them on for?
At least 15-20min but usually I just go about my day with them on.
Why didn’t you use sunscreen?
I use Nature Republic’s Camellia facial sunscreen daily post-niacinamide and HA application! It’s just not in this video because I was reviewing The Ordinary products.

You Should ALWAYS use a moisturizer after using hyaluronic acid, because it hydrates the skin by pulling in water. If you dont use a moisturizer on top, hyaluronic acid will pull in water from deeper layers of your skin and make it dry. Also, niacinamide takes around 2 months to work completely.

Hi, you need to use moisturizer, that’s the reason why your face is dry, your nose. You need to wait 6 months to see the real results. Also, the vitamic c is the most effective serum from your routine, that’s the main responsive product that made your skin being soft and then the niacinamide. I saw a comment down here that you’re not supposed to use aha/bha acids or vitamin c with niacinamide, yes, that’s correct!but only when it’s used in the same time, you are safe to combine those between your night and morning routine. I also saw a comment here about someone facing purging and saying that she needs to take a break from the routine, that’s a wrong mone as well. You need to keep using the products, purging can take up to 6-12 months. We only need to stop when it’s causing irritation or allergic reactions, otherwise, keep on going. For pores, you can try and use bha acids, they are amazing for oily skin. Also try to introduce in your routine a cleanser with salicilic acid and be patient, it’s gonna take a while for the results to show up. I think that you should really use a cleanser in the morning as well and a toner for pores. Try to always use the hyaluronic acid when your face is still wet and I think that you may be using a little too many drops of the products if you still feel your face sticky, try to use less of the products and see how it’s going on. And another very important tip is that you should include in your skincare routine a spf cream to use it as a top layer when you go outside, especially if you use vitamic c, retinol or aha\bha acids. ✌️☺️

Hi Laura, I'm using Ordinary vit C( Ascorbic acid) serum. My skin is healthy ( no acne, oiliness etc)and but suffer from hyper pigmentation and have a dark spot on my right check bone. Have been using the serum for 6 months, my skin looks bright but the spot hasn't dimmed.. should I include another aordinary product. The hyperpigmentation is probably hereditary, my mum ( mid 60s) now has a lot of dark spots on her face.

Hi. I have used the same products (TO Hyaluronic acid and Niacinamide). I haven't experienced any purging for 6 weeks, but I broke out week 7 onwards. Would this still be normal? I'm seriously considering stopping using them. I think the issue was also because I wasn't using moisturizer with those 2 TO products.

Tried it, but for me the niacinamide serum from FaceTheory worked better, faster and had more visible effects. The price is indeed better for The Ordinary, and maybe their products work on younger skin, but for me as a 32 year old smoker, Face Theory products which indeed are a bit more expensive, have worked wonders

@@lifestylethreads8668 im a whole year late but if u still need it or someone else does, the container has instructions which say to use AM and PM, you can use it every day or every second day depends on ur skin. u just put a few drops on ur face and pat it everywhere, if u have bad acne it might sting a little for like a minute till it dries

Sounds like we have almost exactly the same skin type and issues!! I am using The Ordinary AHA peel, Salicykic Acid, alpha arbutin and moisturizing factors and for a month now. I see a slight improvement mainly coz of the AHA peel and the consistent use of the serum and moisturizer. But wanted to add either hyaluronic acid or niacinamide to my regime and that lead me here and now I’m more confused! 🤣🤣 I loved your vids! Do more on the Ordinary! It will take time for results but I think your skin, in the video, from day 1 to 40 is showing HUGE difference!! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

I’m using those two but NOT together, I use the niacinamide in the morning together with my regular moisturizer and sunscreen. The hyaluronic at night together with my moisturizer again. My face feels amazing!!

Omg please use a face wash in the morning!!! Use a super gentle one like CeraVe, Simple or Rovectin because these are very gentle and non-stripping so your face feels clean and soft and not dry, but don't stop cleansing!! It's very important, even in the morning. Also, use your actives like Niacinamide at night. I only use Vitamin C in the morning under my moisturizer and sunscreen, and thats only because it enhances the effect of sunscreen. But all other actives should be layered at night. (Ps: if you struggle with peeling skin, the niacinamide dries ur skin out a bit. So always make sure you use a rich moisturiser after using the serum)

For wrinkles try and use retinol but google it before use. You have to be really careful to use spf cream and you should use it at night time and in the morning routine try to use niacinamide, it helps a lot in response to retinol. Do not mix them in the same routine✌️

I just applied niancinamide and hyaluronic acid together for the first time. I swear my skin is glowing and I have patches where my pores are literally gone. My skin is super smooth. I washed my face with a foaming and an oil cleanser too, then I applied niancinamide, let it rest 2 minutes, then hyaluronic acid, let it rest a bit, then Q10 and cerave. Before I go to sleep, I will also apply a thicker cream, Lipikar Ap+M.

i suggest not to use two active ingredients at the same time by layering , one night for niacinamide and another for hyaluronic acid, because the conc. is very high and it can cause drastic changes to soft facial skin , if you want to use combinations then go for lesser conc. serums , not "the ordinary" serums, there are companies which sells lesser conc. serums so you can mix two serums to your routine. have a great day ladies❤️

Rub tomato on your skin you will see a difference straight away day two definitely...I no longer get pores really reduces redness and it’s perfect for oily skin. No more break outs and no more pores I personally think it’s the best home remedy for skin x

Ladies, try to use hyaluronic acid on wet skin and apply moisturizer after ✌️ there shouldn’t be any redness and maybe consider using another serums as well, hyaluronic acid is only helping us in order to hydrate our skin and keep it moist, it’s a humectant
