You obviously didn't play this one multiple times. The unit is bugged and your party never survives past south pass. Hunting is bugged and you always get 900 pounds of food, even if you don't shoot anything. Also resting doesn't do anything and accelerates the death timer. I think you should experiment on this unit a few more times and then do a re-review video.
Oh, no. Is it terminally borked? I played about four times and was never successful. I don't see me spending much more time with it, especially knowing this potential problem. I'll pin your comment as a buyer-beware to other viewers, though. Thanks for the heads-up.
I believe they may have fixed that for later ones as mine just came in and ive hunted twice and gotten a different amount neither of them being 900 if i make it to south pass i will update on if can go past it
Hey great video! New Subscriber 👍I was randomly looking on an EBay sellers page and found this game. And so I went to RU-vid to research what this handheld device is all about and your video was one of the first ones to pop up! So thank you for a great intensive review!
I remember this in elementary school. We also had some other fun games. We had one similar to Jeopardy in which you answer trivia questions. I even remember a math game in which you answered math problems to destroy enemy ships. And we had Leisure Suit Larry, a game which was probably not something an 11 year old should be playing lol.
In elementary school our whole school shared one Apple IIe on a cart. If you were good you might get 15 minutes to play Oregon Trail or the other MECC masterpiece, Odell Lake. 15 minutes is barely enough time to get dysentery. I like the idea of a pocket Oregon Trail game! We have the bigger handheld but it’s not very portable.
Hi Jon I remember that game on computer back in the day I’m watching your channel again Jon Mo and Georg I just bought myself a new iPhone because the keyboard on my old iPhone didn’t work anymore it’s Greg Snarke I even found your website store so I can shop!
@@GenXGrownUp No! Clowns and Balloons was in color! I don’t know how, but when my brother and I played the games, they were in color. Now, if you were writing in syntax (?), that was green and black. 🤷♂️
@@genxskeptic5816 I think you're likely talking about the Tandy Color Computer (CoCo), not the TRS-80 Model III. Another great platform, though, and it definitely had 16 colors.
Thanks, Thanos. That is Gobo. I picked him up at Denver's Fifty-Two '80s nostalgia store a few years ago. Be careful about wandering away from the party. That cost us a day! 😉
My word! Trash 80's! I remember playing Oregon Trail and Lemonade Stand on those. That was 7th grade in my Intro to Computers class as well. OH NO, I DIED!
Don't fret too much. Some commenters have suggested it has some bugs that make it difficult if not impossible to actually win. As a nostalgic toy it's cool, but if true, that would bring it down a couple notches.
