Most of the inspiration for the devil comes from the horned god motif found in almost every polytheist pagan tradition. Horns once represented power not evil. Also in European pantheons horned gods represented fertility like Pan. Also the demons that are mentioned in the Old Testament are named after pre-monotheistic gods from the Semitic and other middle eastern traditions. Though most polytheist worshippers also believed in demons the new monotheistic faith also turned their gods into demons. Also the concept of a underworld overseen by a god in something found in almost every pagan pantheon in the ancient world. Even modern polytheistic religions have horned gods, tricksters, and gods of the underworld. The monotheistic Jews started this tradition and it continued with the Christians. Many people are now reading more of the history behind our modern faiths. Also Lucifer was a pagan god, Luciferus is his Roman name, Hesperus and Eosphoros were the sons of the dawn goddess Eos or Aurora in Latin. They represented the morning and evening stars, which is really the planet Venus. There is a passage in Isaiah that calls a human king the morning star, saying “Oh morning star how you have fallen.” The Bible was originally in other languages like Aramaic and when translated to Latin Morning Star would have been presented as Luciferus. The dragon in revelation is associated with this fallen king. Later it’s likely that the book of Enoch was read by church leaders but not shared with their congregations so stories not based in the Bible were spread. Fallen angels and kings, dragons, and tempting snakes all went together, all inspired by the pagan traditions. Also the story of the garden of eden has its origins in Mesopotamian pagan religion, but it involves the god Enki and goddess Ninhursag. Enki interestingly enough was also presented as a horned god. But in the west we are so accustomed to biblical teaching it becomes hard to discuss all of this because it is largely forgotten.

Satan or the Devil (Another name for Satan) originated from Abrahamic religions. Satan is a fallen angel. And no, he's not a red fiery being with horns on his head. He's actually one of the most beautiful angels that God created. Who is he? Well, the bible says that before he rebelled against God he was actually a Cherub, a high ranking angel, the bible even describes what Satan looks like, this simple text from the bible would've answered the whole video: "You were the signet of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was your covering, carnelian, chrysolite, and moonstone, beryl, onyx, and jasper, sapphire, turquoise, and emerald; and worked in gold were your settings and your engravings. On the day that you were created they were prepared. With an anointed cherub as guardian I placed you; you were on the holy mountain of God; you walked among the stones of fire. You were blameless in your ways from the day that you were created, until iniquity was found in you. In the abundance of your trade you were filled with violence, and you sinned; so I cast you as a profane thing from the mountain of God, and the guardian cherub drove you out from among the stones of fire. Satan also has many names: Ruler of the demons (Matthew 12:24) God of this world (2 Corinthians 4:4) Devil/Accuser (Matthew 4:1) Prince of the power of the air (Ephesians 2:2) Roaring lion (1 Peter 5:8) Serpent (Genesis 3:1) Dragon (Revelation 12:9; 20:2) Adversary (Job 1) Tempter (Matthew 4:3) The anointed Cherub that covers (Ezekiel 28:14) Beelzebub (Matthew 12:24) Belial (2 Corinthians 6:15) Wicked one (Matthew 13:19) These are all names for Satan not other demonic entities, they're all names for the same being.

All in all, he comes in various forms because he represents the darkest half of ourselves, which, as any fictional Rogue's Gallery will tell you, comes in itself, a diversity of forms and meanings. Personally, I believe denying your darker nature does more harm than good. You're human, regardless of anything, that in itself will remain a fact. Those darker things exist for a reason. Balance is key, and knowing what to let go, what impulses you should control, is key. Never ignore or deny the fact you have a loaded gun in your pocket that's easily set off if you don't know how to control it.

In Islam Satan or the devil is referred to as iblees. When god created Adam he made all the angels bow down to his creation all did as god commanded but one iblees or the devil. When this happened god kicked iblees out and turned him to fire. Later iblees tricks eve in to eating the apple when god told her not to eat from that tree but anything else in the garden was fine. In the Quran it mentions that on the day of judgment iblees will be standing beside the ones who committed wrong, and will take them in hell with him. There are also more devils you can say and are called jinn the jinn are things created by god out of fire we can’t see them they can see us. Many jinn can be any religion they are exactly like us.
