Wow, that certainly was a journey for just one second of a sound. I was familiar with the sample but had no idea it came from a record of all things. Reminds me of the one horn stab from the Roland JV-1080.

Yes Trevor Horn probably recorded the original... or at least I think it could well be his origins

My favorite usage of the sample was probably used in "Show Me Your Spine", the Ministry and Nivek Ogre collaboration song that was used in Robocop.

Good catch, Synamax. This one has been in tonnes of classic Hip-Hop joints, such as the refined 'Lick the Balls' number by Slick Rick.

That horn stab would also be used in Baseball Stars 2, Fatal Fury Special, and (maybe a distorted version of it) in Shock Troopers for the NeoGeo-a personal favorite of mine.

Nice catch! Here's the other uses of the horn stab that I can recall right now: PTP - Show Me Your Spine (which played in the original Robocop movie), the opening theme for the Crayon Shin-chan anime and the OST to Lethal Enforcers: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9ImKrvoic7c.html
