With this episode, we revisit one of our all-time favorite subjects: Graham Reid, head of Heritage Garage. Reid is a diehard Mini collector, restorer, and racer. When we caught wind that he was taking part in a “fun-run” in Mexico, we jumped at the chance. Few cars compare to the charm and handling of an old-school Mini--especially a Cooper S.

Great car! I live in Tasmania, Australia, and had a Japanese judo instructor who owned a Mini Cooper S. When he returned to Japan in the early 1980s, I tried to buy the car. However, he steadfastly refused, tell me he would “take back Japan!” And he did. Still has it, forty years later, I believe.

after seeing the first video introducing Mr. Reid and hearing about how the minis are great vehicles. It remind me of my aunt who used to own one of these back in the home country and it was the same color as his rally vehicle.

You should have been here in Australia in the early 60's when these cars were king of the mountain aka Bathurst NSW, they dominated the scene for years in their class, I had a Mk1 Cooper 'S' back in the late 60's fantastic car, mine was only slightly modded, bored out to 1310, big head and a 45mm side draught Weber, cheers dennis

its a shame they are so expensive. i had a 2002, it was an amazingly fun car, and pretty quick, but always wanted to drive an original sized version
