More than not getting any change in 3 years : while every top tier MBT got buffs, Gaijin thought it would be a good idea to nerf the Leclercs. It's not like France's top tier was good but you know, Gaijin and France is kind of a hate story. During the Dev server preceding the Leclerc's release, it went from a 5 seconds reload (historically accurate) to the current 6 seconds reload (historically inaccurate). Then, it got its commander thermals removed. Until very recently, it got its mobility heavily nerfed (incredibly slow neutral steering gear). And then there is simply the general powercrept : it currently has the second worst top tier shell and what is easily the worst of second worst survivability in top tier because it only has 3 crew members, fuel tanks explode all the time for no reason and Gaijin won't fix its armor. France's situation being dire as always ...

Probably what bugs me the most, and you didn't mention it, is how crippingly slow the turret traverse is. With more than 1000 battles between the 3 Leclercs and more than 1900 kills in total I speak from experience. A painful one.

Hi ! The Leclerc's auto loading mechanism can be set to 5 sec reloading time. However, the French military found out that doing so would increase the risk of reliability issues and so they set it at 6 secs. To be fair, Gaijin was true to life regarding the Leclerc's reloading rate :) Now I agree with you regarding the weaknesses in the mobility department, the IRL Leclerc is a nervous machine !

Either give them new rounds or buff the reload to 5 seconds as your losing lot of survivability of having 3 crew compared to the other NATO counterparts.

@@wifi_soldier5076 basically it's an auto loader meaning even though one crew member of three dies the reload will always be the same (until the ammo in the autoloader is gone) Here is a reference the challengers load their rounds when spaded every 5 seconds If the leclerc gets a five second reloading autoloader it would mean that you wouldn't have to waste money on spading it you just need to give the driver speed. I can feel sympathy 😕 for French tankers (I am a British tanker) and I would like nothing more than smaller nations would get some more love from the snail. (I am just so frustrated with gajins insistence of failing to balance top tier (which is currently in the Russian court)) It beats the Russian autoloader by atleast 0,7 seconds which is pretty good compared to most reloads of other tanks

@@dedneyder3586 Bruh, when the Leclerc got DEV released they had 5 second reload in the Dev Server which was accurate compared to IRL. The 5 second autoloader will actually make it worth while considering all the other problems the Leclerc have.

One important note, the S1 weighs 53.7 tons instead of 56.2 like the S2 and SXXI. That gives the S1 the highest top tier MBT horsepower per ton, of 27.4 hp/t while the S2 and SXXI gets 26.2 hp/t For comparison, other fast MBT’s like Type 10 only gets 27.0 hp/t. This thing also doesn’t lose as much speed in turns as some NATO tanks does, making it generally a really mobile platform while still having some armour. Edit: This thing also has a INSANE shell speed of 1790 m/s which is if i’m not wrong the fastest MBT shell.

And yet, in my experience, the T-80BVM seems to have pretty much the same mobility (except in reverse obviously), but with much better armor and a better shell. After all, Gaijin wouldn't want Russia to suffer ...

Great video Justin. As a French main(lish) I guess the S1 Leclerc should be moved to 10.7 and fight the M1 AIM, Leo 2PL and the Chinese which both feature thermals for commander and gunner and have and equal if not more powerful round.

I think one of it's advantages is that the crew is spread apart in a quite big tank, and also it keeps reloading even if one member got taken out, which often allows you to return fire very quickly

I think the 120mm F2 round has a Uranium core. Which the French did use for a while, but stopped using to go back to Tungsten. Which Gaijin has been using the excuse that since the French don't use it anymore it's not justified to add it for them. 😕

The "new" small RB-maps are not really new. They used/had them for a long time but only in arcade and because of reasons now in RB.

Quick tip with the AMX-50B, the reason why you keep getting non-pens is because its default shell is HE, and for some random reason it'll switch it to HE while it still appears as AP client side. It's like the fuel bug, but a lot more annoying, so just swap ammo back and forth every once in a while

I've never carried HE with it, however previous targets in the same spawn were able to be easily destroyed by the current shell type. So I don't quite believe this is the case.

@@JustinPlaysTV It's been happening to me, an I carry both AP and HE, so it may be an issue, just like fuel being set to minimum or maximum when you have one of the medium selections. It may be a possibility, but it's only happened twice for me.

The leclerc has a bug in the fuel tank, sometimes it works normally, but most of the time the crew is shot down meaninglessly

I will always stand by that the Leclerc needs to be BR 10.0 with its gen 1 thermals(Like the Leo 2 A4), take away its top sabot round. S2 should be BR 10.7, and the SXXI needs to be the only 11.0 BR. It is insane this tank sits a such a high BR with such terrible thermals (There is a screaming M1A2 Abrams player somewhere lol.)

Same things happens time to time that shots dosen't pen the sides and nothing getting absorbed. It's so annoying. It's most likely bug that occurs randomly in my experience.

It would be nice if Gaijin would allow the Hellfires to switch between ballistic and direct fire modes since it can do that. it'd also be nice if theyd give us the 10km range ones for all the Apaches. and move them and the KA-50's up to 11.0 as well as the tunguska. XM-1s should get m774, M1 Abrams (10.0) should get M833, and the M3 Bradley should get M919 APFSDS; as well as removing the ridiculous depression nerf the bradleys got for the rear. They should also allow the Abrams to depress the gun over the engine deck. like they changes with the leclercs

I like to think that the leos2a5/6 and strv122a/b are literally point and click ctrl+alt+sup XD, they armor is so good in the chasis even, and the turret is indestructible and man oh man that sweet rounds they fire piercing anything

The Tiger HAD does have better engines than the HAP, so better overall maneuverability. Also, the range of the HOT-3 missiles are 4.3km

As a french player i feel miserable with how gaijin is doing France dirty there is so many tanks that gajin could add to France and none of them do, the sl prices are extremely high so it scares off new players to try without new players trying because of the high prices gajin doesn’t see a reason to add more tanks and with the nerfing of various french top tiers after a while people would stop playing Frances, i would love to see more tanks in the tech tree and maybe try and get gajin to notice that people are willing to play France and enjoy it if they just lower sl prices and there were more tanks tank people could have in France theoretically giving it more appeal. But lets be honest probably not gonna happen but I’ll hope and wait for the day France will be cared about in gajin’s eyes

I just started playing the Leclerc and the experience is horrible so far. Saying the next two Leclercs are identical really makes me think I should abandon the french tech tree for now. This Leclerc would fit better at 10.0-10.3. But then, what's gonna be France's top dog?

This is just my opinion. The armour on the Leclercs is underwhelming, the firepower is average, the turret traverse is slow (its comparable to WW2 tanks if the crew is slightly wounded), the neutral steering is slow, you can detonate the ammo if u pen the cannon breach right, fuel tank 9 times out of ten explode when penned. When I unlocked this tank is was challenging to play it stock as the tank was quite unresponsive. Honestly, I love and hate this tank as it looks unique and cool, it's fast (mobility and reload time), its got good sight and decent thermal, good smoke screen, doesn't suffer from nato hump as much as the Leopard or the Abrams. If you look at the Abrams or the Leopards or even a BVM, these two tanks has a really good blend of balance of what makes a good MBT, but with the Leclercs I feel like it could be much more of an MBT than it is now.

Honesty this game is becoming so bug out at the moment the other day shot a leo 3 times in it's engine and it just ghost shell through all 3 times lucky a allied knocked out the leo gun because I would have been dead

the Leclerc in all of its versions is still one of the best most balanced top tier tanks, mobility and firepower!!!! The first version is still the best! People just struggle to kill it! they just dont know how, even with the small crew.

@@steve45 A half decent player can take an M-22 and kill an Abrams with it, that doesn't make the M-22 a good vehicle at 11.0 similarly just because a good player can perform well with the Leclerc it doesn't make it good. How many more hoops does the Leclerc player have to jump through to achieve the same results as a Leo 2A5 or a T-80BVM? It has inferior ammunition and inferior protection. The only TWO things it has going for it are reload speed and mobility. Which even then the reload speed can be negated by other non French players with an ace crew, so reload speed is only an advantage sometimes and not consistently.

@@gaomax All I'm hearing is "skill issue"... I'm talking from experience! The 2A5/2A6 players are generally not that great and easily countered. The Russian mains can be dangerous, however, they tend to revert to the stupid zerg rush technique. However pound for pound, the LeClerc more than punches above its weight. I've had more nukes with the french at top tier than any other nation.

@@steve45 You're exclusively referring to anecdotal experience. I'm referring to actual stats. Just because the enemy team might have players not as skilled or good at the game doesn't make their tanks any worse. It is undeniable that the Leclerc is a worse tank when in comparison to the Leo, Abrams or most of the top tier T series tanks. Having idiot enemies isn't a buff for an otherwise inferior tank.

90% of my games have me around that ping as war thunder hates to match me in US servers. So seeing that this is the first time I've had this issue in recent memory, I am doubtful it's ping.
