Marcel at the end of the show a better person and better vampire for what he was going through with all the problems of the originals and what they brought to his life as a slave and a member of there family at the end of Klaus and Elijah he felt he couldn't do more for them two. @@A-RedHerring that's true but he wasn't being the better man in this scene. He was making an emotionally flawed decision in this episode and klaus called him out on it.
No, what he does is put the city and people first before a family of monsters who always falters. Since Klaus can't beat the nightwalker vamps he kidnaps wolves to make into hybrids, how did that work out for him before? Hope is in trouble because Klaus is always messing with someone and his past always comes back to haunt him and his family. He just made an enemy of the wolves again.

Klaus is rich for saying Marcel needs to be loved when meanwhile thats all he ever wanted, he literally barged in and said "This was once my city, I want it back" and caused a bunch of unnecessary bullshit to do so. Marcel was fine before he came back and yet he still had Klaus' back, after Elijah killed him and he became the beast he had enough, he spared them and yet they still find a way to spin shit like its his fault 🙄

I guess the context of this science went WAY over your head. Klaus didn't make the statement due to being in any competition over who wants love more that wasn't the point. The point was that marcel's desire for it cause him to flip flop on whatever side he can get it from even if it might compromise his rationality and side he's currently on. He's saying due to Rebekah leaving him hes trying to appease the vampire comments by capitulating to Greta's demands and in the process earn back their (vampires) love even though he would be going against klaus in the process. And later on in the episode marcel admitted to klaus that he was right.
oke but thats not the full story,when klaus left new orleas he left marcel in charge so it was never marcels city he just left him to stay in charge untull klaus got back so marcel never realy had a legit claim over the city,in a way when marcel refused to give up new orleans he betrayde klaus he should have said oke welcome back klaus i gues il be a nofficer again. shure marcel doesnt have to do that but wel if you dont there wil be consequences. if you have a company and you leave for a while leave someone as second in command and you come back and the refuse to give you youre company back ya thats not good.
Marcel did make a point in saying that “it’s always somebody else’s fault” and that “”Always and Forever” is just an excuse, to do whatever the hell you want”.
