Hayleys “elijah” right before she died is so heartbreaking. She saw him thinking he would help her but instead he betrayed her

That bye Hayley hits hard when almost every single time she was on screen you said hi Hayley. 😢

The writers this season talked about wanting to tell a story about what happens when someone is driven by prejudice/ hate and the consequences of this hate on peoples families. This faction of vampires believed they were superior to hybrids/tribrid because they were mixed breed and Haley’s death was an example of how far this battle can go.

Hayley’s death is so heartbreaking and shocking! Klaus’s reaction always gets me. The fact that Hayley didn’t even get to die as a werewolf hurts even more. What a way to end the episode. The little detail of Caroline wearing her wedding ring on her necklace is so sweet. Stefan will always be with her.

I will literally never forgive them for ruining Elijah's character like that. He loved her like no one else, and then he got her killed while not even remembering her? Not us, not her and not even Elijah deserved that.

All the Klaroline scenes in the episode were so sweet and then they just crushed my heart with Hayley’s death 😭

I love how Caroline is wearing her wedding ring as a necklace, she really did mean it when she said she would love Stefan forever

There is a theory, that Hayley turns her emotions off before snapping Gretas finger, because she doesn't want to feel the emotional burden of dying and not being with her daughter.

The actor that plays Roman did actually play a prince who did lacrosse in Descendants.

Poor Jeremy, you werent ready for this. One of the most powerful scenes in all of the originals and the vampire diaries. Amazing acting from Phoebe Tonkin. Really looking forward to these next episodes.

Hayley's death literally broke me and the fact Elijah didn't save her hurts more, but I understand why he didn't.

Her glancing at Klaus.... Klaus being the last one where she got strength to fight the fight, for her family....... it wasn’t Elijah who got the last look

I think people think you hate the actor and not just the character because one time you saw Michael Trevino (Tyler) out of character in like a TVD interview or something and you made a barf face. It rubbed people the wrong way ig, he's a very great person irl

I remember first watching this episode. I didn’t believe that Hailey was dead. Like up until the end of episode 7 did it really hit. The entire time I was thinking ‘they always bring people back from the dead… this is no different… they wouldn’t kill Hailey not even halfway through the season!’ But then it sunk it. And man did it hurt 😭

You're not ready to see Hope and Klaus mourn Hayley. SO HEARTBREAKING 😭 Also little random fact: the actress who played Greta is the real life wife of the actor who played Enzo in TVD.

I like they show Roman as naive and conflicted. Love the Caroline and Klaus scenes. Can't imagine how hurt and confused Hope must feel. So much betrayal this episode. Binding her wolf side is such a cruel thing to do to, cutting off her connection to who she is. Haley's death is devastating, but glad she went out fighting. Love her character, but really appreciate that the show went there, its a death nobody really expected, one that impacts so many characters. All the actors do a great job. The pain in Klaus's face in comparison to Elijahs blank expression, is a great contrast. Agree on that split second look, just before she dies you can see him wondering who she is and what she might mean to him.

After this episode I kept saying to myself that she wasn’t dead and that they would bring her back

I almost didn’t watch this reaction cause I completely forget that it was THIS episode until I saw the thumbnail,, now I have to try not to cry…too much😭

To be fair, Phoebe Tonkin also wanted to move into other things. Like Claire Holt, she missed her family back in Australia bjt also had a family in Cali. That being said story wise, Hayley's death is so heartbreaking. I had problems with the character at points yes, but I emphasized with her and loved her character even back on TVD. I've never wanted Klaus to go apesh*t so bad in my entire life.

This is the episode i really felt like the writers didn't care about the last season, the fans and the actors. I remember seeing hints that they were going to kill her and i was beyond angry. The whole point of The Originals was for Hope to be Klaus's redemption arc right? Hope would grow up happy with both her parents and never experience the trauma like both Hayley and Klaus did. The story of awful parents and the trauma that comes with having awful parents has been told so many times through out TVD and TO. I don't get why they would end TO with the same story. Hope will for sure be traumatised by loosing her mother like this and probably feel so guilty because she is the reason Hayley got kidnapped. This was the worst ending for a beloved character! What made all of this even worse was Elijah. The last thing Hayley sees before dying is the man she loves saving the enemy. He is also part of the reason that she died in the end and that was such an evil thing to do to Haylijah(and their fans too). I really feel like the writers hated Elijah or the actor. We finally see how much Klaus cares about Hayley this season and my heart broke seeing his face after she died. I mean i FINALLY get more Klaroine scenes and it was beautiful but they ruined it with this ending. Not really, but you get what i'm saying. It was just so sad.

I never cried so hard cause of a TV death in my entire life. I remember I went to a concert the day this came out and I got drunk and started crying looking at the full moon 😂😭 low point. this is just so sad, hayley deserved better ❤

It's really subtle, but I love how you can actually see her turning her humanity of right before she sacrificed herself. This episode just breaks me. Starting of being so happy to see Caroline and then this shit happens...

A lot of people created a theory that Hayley turned off her humanity right before she sacrificed herself. I personally don’t believe it. If she had her emotions off, why would she still sacrifice herself if she doesn’t care. She snapped off Greta’s fingers and could have easily thrown her outside, as she was vulnerable and momentarily stunned. So… that doesn’t make sense to me. And also noooo not the “bye Hayley at the end” 😭

Also a not so fun fact but Haley's death was actually spoiled for majority of fans before the season even started. A writer posted a picture for S5 just saying like they were excited for everyone to watch it, but the picture was the writers in the writers room and you could see the giant whiteboards behind them and they had laid out plot point for the first like 7 episodes and fans zoomed in and saw "Haley dies/Haley's funeral" on the board and everyone lost their minds. The writer deleted the pic and re-posted it with the background wiped over, pretty much solidifying what everyone had seen was real. So going into the season people knew Haley would die and what episode cause of that person's stupid mistake so everyone already hated the season going in and when she was labeled as a guest star in the first episode people knew it was gonna be bad because there was no prior announcement about Phoebe Tonkin stepping back this season beforehand like there normally would be.

Hope could have set up a barrier spell around the house to protect Hayley until sundown... too bad the writers wanted to kill her off.

You will understand everything in episode 11. But yes. This is one of the most heartbreaking parts of The Originals. I am always crying when I see this specific death. But it's the beginning of crying. I will cry in each next episode.

if you really think about it, hayley looked as if she turned off her humanity before sacrificing herself and killing herself so she wouldn’t feel the emotion that came with leaving everyone. the way she closed her eyes looked similar to the way that everyone else in TVD turned off their humanity. i like to see it that way instead of how much pain she was in.

Yup jer I was waiting for this reaction I didn’t expect it but I dropped everything my first time watching this I cried my eyes out fr and said no way they kill Hayley with the nice eyebrows

I’ve always noticed klaus was threatened by elijahs protective nature of hayley, especially in season 1, so he’s always held back from showing he cares for her to not get in the way of them, and now that he’s the one being able to try to find and save her but being unable to do so is so heartbreaking
