► This image of Messier 42 (M42) or the Orion Nebula is one of Hubble's sharpest and clearest images ever taken at a resolution of 18000x18000 pixels (download link below).
I would be very glad if you would share my work :)
To watch in original quality goto "Settings" → "Quality" and "1440p or better 2160p 4K"
► Interesting facts:
"The Orion Nebula (also known as Messier 42, M42, or NGC 1976) is a diffuse nebula situated south[b] of Orion's Belt in the constellation of Orion. It is one of the brightest nebulae, and is visible to the naked eye in the night sky. M42 is located at a distance of 1,344 ± 20 light years and is the closest region of massive star formation to Earth. The M42 nebula is estimated to be 24 light years across. It has a mass of about 2000 times the mass of the Sun. Older texts frequently refer to the Orion Nebula as the Great Nebula in Orion or the Great Orion Nebula.
The Orion Nebula is one of the most scrutinized and photographed objects in the night sky, and is among the most intensely studied celestial features. The nebula has revealed much about the process of how stars and planetary systems are formed from collapsing clouds of gas and dust. Astronomers have directly observed protoplanetary disks, brown dwarfs, intense and turbulent motions of the gas, and the photo-ionizing effects of massive nearby stars in the nebula. There are also supersonic "bullets" of gas piercing the hydrogen clouds of the Orion Nebula. Each bullet is ten times the diameter of Pluto's orbit and tipped with iron atoms glowing bright blue. They were probably formed one thousand years ago from an unknown violent event." - from Wikipedia.org

this is a work of art. the parts of orion nebula shown in a single frame blend so well with the music. it can give goosebumps to any astronomer who knows about space. you have mixed science with (music, art) which is a deadly combination. there are so many ways in which to look at it. make more stuff like this. i wish you a very long life and good health.

The solar system, galaxies, planets, stars and space in general interest me enormously. I wish I knew more than I do - which is so little - about space. Our galaxy, correct me if I'm wrong, the Milky Way, is so fucking huge. That deserved a 'fucking'. When you compare Earth to every other planet in our solar system, then to the sun, and then the sun to the suns bigger than our sun, you really start to realize how complex and vast space is. Earth is but a speck of dust in comparison to every other planet or star in existence. Do you ever stop to think about how likely life is outside of our solar system, given how big the Milky Way is? I hear that the chances of a planet with the means to inhabit life like Earth is is very little. That may be true, in our galaxy. But the Milky Way is unbelievably small compared to the Galaxy it exists within. Needless to say, there IS another Earth out there somewhere. A bigger Earth, a smaller Earth. Many planets like Earth probably exist. They probably support life like humans like Earth does. And then I really start to wish I could discover these planets, to explore the galaxies, to find that Earth. I know I won't, because life is too short. Maybe on those other Earths, their 'humans' life span is much larger than ours. Even though I won't be able to fulfill my dreams, I just hope somebody else will. Because I know there is life outside of Earth. I know it.
@JGphins
@JGphins 9 лет назад
+Kashif Noorani There's no less then 400 BILLION stars in the galaxy! Each star (sun) are accompanied by their planets which forms its solar system - countless and undiscovered planets!!! You bet ya there's life out there for sure - no thought about it! Space is enormous and we have only studied a very small area much less been able to conduct research to determine possible inhabitant life sustaining planets outside of our solar system... We are a lot closer today but still 20 to 30 years away from developing the technology to manipulate light speed travel. Scientists have recently developed self generated power sources in various rockets but are challenged in their work by producing the source to reduce such high speeds in space in order to enter safely into planet's orbits... If man doesn't destroy themselves and our planet by 2030 -or- early 2040 then humans on earth will finally see our lucky chosen astronauts journey to deep outer space via light speed travel. I hope to be a part of that experience, till then, eyes in the sky!

@KingADDJ
@KingADDJ 7 лет назад
I think about this alot, and adding to this.. I think many of these planets may already have life or had life on them, or are yet to have life yet. The process of evolution on Earth from microscopic bacteria to humans took billions of years, who's to say that process hasn't already been and gone on these other planets? or that it's in the early stages at the moment? or whether it will not begin for another billion years? The scales of both time and size once you get to outer space are fascinating 0_0
@raafmaat
@raafmaat 7 лет назад
+AdamDDJ also, we are looking at them through huge telescopes and stuff, but the planets that we see might have already exploded centuries ago, since the light from there takes centuries or even thousands of years before it reaches our telescopes

No matter how many times I look at pictures of Orion they blow my mind. Today I was looking and to me the whole nebula looked like a giant mercaba with a God inside. I'm not saying that's what's going on but I noticed the more I look at different nebula in space the more my mind is blown. The thoughts that come to mind are so beautiful. I downloaded a picture of the crab nebula and the picture is done in I think five different light spectrums. I'm not exactly sure but I think it's done in infared, ultraviolet, x-ray and I can't remember the other two at this moment, But the article said that scientist study the picture with all the different spectrums to help them to get a better understanding of what's going on. I do not believe that all nebulas are just gas and dust and star forming nursery's.

just a bit of constructive criticism... M43 is DeMairans Nebula which is right next to Orion. Makes it look a bit confusing in the description box, seeing you've also put the correct Messier Number M42 in there as well. other than that awesome video, well other than the 808 snare sound. soooo many better snare sounds out there, maybe they should of used a real snare and a real drummer, in fact always use a real drummer.

When the sky is rent asunder, and becomes a crimson rose like melted oil." (Quran chapter 55 Surah, ar-Rahman: verse 37) The word اَلدِّهَانُ (addihan) in the verse is used for two meanings. The first one is hot oil and the other is saffian (a kind of tanned and dyed leather). After this explanation, let us translate the verse again. If the sky is rent asunder, you shall see it like dyed leather or a crimson rose which seems like hot oil. Many interpreters of the Qur'an interpreted this verse as the situation of the sky at the moment of apocalypse. Because, the renting asunder of the sky reminded them the Doomsday. However, while we can understand the notion of renting asunder of the sky as going to space by passing over the atmosphere, we can also understand that as renting asunder the sky by eyes via telescopes and watching beyond. So from this aspect, the meaning of the verse is as follows; "If you could afford to go to space by renting asunder the sky or manage to cleave it with the equipments that you invent and watch its beyond, you will see a saffian in the color of a rose or hot oil." Then, what does "a crimson rose like melted oil" mean? If you wish, let us see the explanations of scientists and space researchers. Nebula is the name given to nebular structures which are composed of gases, dust, hydrogen, helium and other ionized gases that exist in space and spread in wide areas. These eruptions of gases are very large and fast. Afterwards, these gases come closer and form a cloud of gas. The temperature of this cloud of gas is more than 15.000 degrees centigrade. In fact, as a result of space researches of nowadays, scientists have come across with a Nebula which is in the color of a crimson rose looking like melted oil just as it is described in the verse. Yes, this Nebula was named as "Rosette Nebula", which means a cloud of gas that resembles the shape of a rose, by scientists because it just looks like a rose. Rosette Nebula is a vast mass of dust and gas away from the earth approximately 5200 light years and has a diameter of about 130 light years.

The nebula, in my opinion, are stars that simply blur when the spiral moves and we don't see clear points, but the brightness of Andromeda stars is very high, so we see their general glow. The same thing happens in the centers of all galaxies, at the birth of stars, where their concentration is off the scale
