Hodinkee has Kermit, Britt has Britt making a voice. Doing the most with the least. Crazy how Oris managed to match the green of the date wheel to the dial, while much more expensive brands are not matching even the white or black to the right shade.
🤣🤣🤣 this is PEAK gringa dorky-ness 🐸 I’ve never had so much fun making a video! Hahaha. A ludicrously fun watch deserves a stupidly fun video! I’m always honoured to get a compliment from podcastage himself!
Amazing that you got Oscar to not only come on the show, but to let his hair down a little, so to speak. I mean, on Sesame Street you can’t even tell he has a Canadian accent! 😎🍪🥃
Wow! I know! Well, I was just so luck that Oscar is a fan of the channel! He said I was the only watch channel he really liked and he has really particular tastes. 😝🤣
I find it fuggly initially. Went to one of the AD to try it few days back, was blown away by it. The titanium, crown, comfortability of the case and the colour of the dial were pretty awesome
Love Oris, but all the Pro Pilot X models (barring the skeleton) have a mismatch between the sporty-industrial case and bracelet, and the delicate, dressy dials with painted indices.
OK, so I've had my Kermit on wrist for 24 hours now - and I really like. it. I smile at the dial color every time I look at it, which is way more often than necessary to tell the time - and I have not cheated and advanced the date to the first of the month, saving the appearance of The Frog as a surprise to myself. Yes, the absence of micro-adjust is not ideal (I added a link this morning to enable adequate blood flow to my wrist), and yes, the contrast of the hands with the dial is not that great- but it is a FUN watch!
I bought the Kermit watch. Very nice! I like the titanium and modern design with a great clasp. I was concerned about the low contrast of the white indices and lime green dial but it's no problem reading the time and the low contrast actually enhances the lime green dial. Pricy for an Oris watch but totally worth it. It's not a limited edition but asking around people think total Kermit watch production might be around 1500.
Great review as always Brit. Of the four Pro Pilot X's dial colors, I honestly like the green the best. Even if it has a $300 USD premium. I love the case and bracelet design but I do not really like the standard dial colors. The blue is OK but I wish it was a brighter shade; the grey makes the watch look to dull; and the peachy "red" dial pops but I don't think it would work for me. I think this would be awesome with a yellow or orange dial, ala Doxa. Super tooly. Or just go with a white dial. I have been on a white/silver dial kick lately.
Great show WG! It’s all a great little gimmick ! I think it would be the 1st of the month everyday if I had this watch! One thing is watch youtube creators have learned is that RU-vid don’t like Oris!!! Don’t know why but hey!
I have this watch, and I love it. Despite Kermit and the bold green dial, it does not feel cartoonish or toy like. On the contrary, it feels like a solid well-made watch with a touch of fun.
I really do love this watch. I'm kind of torn on expanding the line though. If this is the only collab watch, I'd be happy, but part of me wouldn't mind if they did another watch for each of the main muppets. Pink for Piggy, blue for Gonzo, dark brown for Rowlf, red for Animal, light brown/orange for Fozzy...
This is the second Oris I actually want. Kinda love the silly seatbelt clasp too, Oris are best when they bust out of trad territory. Looks fine on you btw.
Collecting should be fun, yes? Well what's more fun than this? Love the small details such as the bezel and the lines of the case itself. Very, very cool. And yes, looks great on your wrist.
Too funny! I like their 400 series movements but I’m a sucker for small seconds so I’ve got my eye on the new pointer date they came out with recently.
I like the watch and have considered buying it quite a few times now, but the price is what makes this difficult. $5k (or closer to $3.7k if you are comfortable second hand) is a lot to pay for a piece that I can't say goes with everything. I like quirky and have a connection to the watch with my mom passing 8 years ago and her being a Muppets fan. But unlike the Omega Silver Snoopy (which is my grail for a similar connection to my mom) I just think it goes a little too far out there for me to be comfortable with the cost.
You know! This is so fair! Really can’t argue with this. It’s definitely on the upper end of what I’d spend on an oris. 😅 it’d be second hand all the way for me tho!
Hey Britt, Luv the fun and light-hearted review of the Oris Kermit. Frankly, with the 120 hours power reserve, it is good enough for me to own one. And I'm a sucker for titanium.
Britt, great job! This is one of my favorite episodes, truly a joy to watch. I laughed many times. Thank you. Keep up the great work and I hope you are feeling a little better every day!
I have seen the standard versions of the Pro Pilot and although the case and bracelet look great with a lot of though the dial just didn't work for me, it was just too flat. Now Kermit has offered his expert dial design this one works so much better, that dial pops in a way that the others didn't. I've yet to see one in the flesh but it's on my list to look at. This Oris and Kermit association could spawn a whole new collection.
Love the watch but can't get down with that $4600 USD price. I understand it has an in house movement, but still. The GS SBGW287 I have is 4800 and has way more detail on dial and finishing than this.
You know! It’s true!!! It’s the top end of the budget for me and an oris! I think there’s a couple hundred extra on there for royalties. But 5 day power reserve is pretty dope!
@@BrittPearceWatches true the 5 days PR is dope. As for titanium, I just find it too light. I like having some steel heft from a watch, but am fine with it being light when it's something like a GShock or a Brew, or even my tank. But a sports watch like that, the titanium makes it feel like a toy. I've only ever tried on the NTTD for testing out a titanium watch and that was my take away. I still love this and that salmon/pink PPX, which has virtually the same dial color as the cream coral nomos which I want.
From videos and photos I was a little underwhelmed but I had the opportunity to try one on and honestly it blew me away. I would have snatched one up on the spot but the price made me hesitant since the green would be hard to match with most of my outfits and if I'm spending that much money on a watch I want to be able to wear it at least 80% of the time.
My watch dealer had just got this one in while I was shopping for my 50th birthday watch. I came very close to going against my better judgment and letting this be that watch. I ended on a Grand Seiko, but still think about the Kermit.
I loved this video! The Kermit is definitely not my style, too bold, but such a great collab and so much fun!. I would definitely want to try it on and take a look at it in person if I saw one in the wild. This is the kind of watch that people are going to ask you about. Also, love the Clyde Frog reference.
Oh, your watch channel keeps evolving really fast!!! The humble beginnings, not so long ago and now this all flashy CGI filled presentation! I´m in awe! A truly crazy and beautiful watch at the same time. Much like you Britt. Umm... not that you are a watch but you know what I mean. Hope you are getting better every second! Great video.
Very entertaining video, Britt! I tried this model on and found the legibility to be an issue for me. On the plus side, great power reserve and warranty.
It is a bit expensive isn’t it! It’s a couple hundred £££ more than the standard Propilot X, for the royalties I am sure. And the movement is quite cool! But yes! It’s at the top end of the budget!
This was a fantastic review! And this is unironically a dream watch for me! I think the Oris caliber 400s are fantastic do it all watches! And even if it wasn't for the Kermit on the date window, I think the green dial is gorgeous! It has decent water resistance, great power reserve, and it feels amazing on the wrist! I know because I got to try it on but couldn't afford it at the time. I love Oris, and this is how you do a fun watch that is still so impressive for the specifications and the price! Great review Gringa! Hope you all have a blessed day!
Ahh Cameron! Thank you sooo much! 🐸 I’m so glad you enjoyed! And I couldn’t agree more! The oris Calibre 400 is ACE! And that 5 day power reserve 💀 soooo good! And you’re so right! Thisbis how you do a fun watxh, that still is a good beefy watch! 👏🏻👏🏻🐸
Tried one of these in the AD last week and it is incredibly comfortable, just a bummer that there is no adjustment in the bracelet.... Beautiful watch if you don't have that need (personally I do)
Ahhh! I couldn’t agree more! Sooo comfortable! 😱🐸 but you’re right. I wish it had some kind of micro adjustment. The links are quite large! So it could be tricky to find your perfect size.
@@BrittPearceWatches It seems like they're doing a bunch right, maybe it's something that they'll address later. It also speaks volumes that they're willing to stand behind the watch for 10 years when you have so many others at a higher price point that are 2 to 5 years... Impressive to say the least
I attended the FY24 kings Jeweler watch fair, this watch peaked my curiosity… love it! Hoping for a lavender Miss Piggy dial in 24mm! Love your channel!
I loved to hate this watch. Then I tried one on and within 24 hours owned one. It’s so much fun and it felt like a good addition to the collection to sit next to my Cookie Monster
Ha ha ha I love the muppet bit so cute and funny Britt your the best .I love thos watch Oris really did it right with this watch. Britt you need to make more muppets video laughed my ass off 😂😂👌
All well said, Britt! Thanks so much. Also, looks and sounds like you’re recovering nicely from your bike accident. Close call, eh? Until my last bike accident a few years ago, I was an ultra-distance rider (did PBP twice), but after my near death experience, I’m now confined to my Peloton (which ain’t so bad either).
Honestly I think this watch is horrible. Why the titanium Flieger watch, high price with lime green dial and Kermit theme? - … but you are right if it puts a smile on your face…
