A quick challenge for you. There are 5 Orville related easter eggs in this video, and one sneaky little addition from our previous project. Can you spot them all? :D
Difficult to say. There are so many unusual details from the show that are easily recognisable, I can't tell what's an Easter egg and what isn't. For example: - Kermit, - Model plane, - Jar of pickles, - Drive-by shuttle, - In the dialogue: Glory Holes. I don't recognise the significance of the chess piece and the disposable coffee cup.
At least Seth is cool with this. CBS just doesn't understand what keeps a franchise afloat. The fans. Edit: Fans like you, who are passionate about what you do. This is quality stuff!
My God I was so sad to see stage 9 go. I sort of drifted away because I didn't know what you guys were doing next. But this. This made my day. Keep on being brilliant messy desk interactive.
You splendid people did exactly what i was hoping when Stage9 got ripped from existence. And i can say seeing this demo montage, you've done it again! Blown away with your level of detail... Let the beta's fly, my download folder is ready for it.
Duuuuuuuuuuuuuude that's awesome. I did a little work for you on Stage 9 (before RL got in the way) and was so gutted to hear about the C&D order. Breaking new ground with The Orville is an inspired move and I'm so glad you have the support of Seth and his crew. At last, somebody who actually gets it and who supports the fan community. If I get some time I'd love to come back and get involved again, but until then I wish you and your crew the very best in this outstanding endeavour.
It great to see you guys back! I was devastated when Stage9 got C&D'ed as exploring that ship was a dream come true after growing up with TNG and will never forget what you guys tried to do for us lifelong fans. I can't imagine what it as like to lose something you all put so much time and effort in to. I've been trying to follow the tour videos of the models from the Stage9 team as they are all excellent. The detail and effort the team puts into things is fantastic. Now I can look to being able to explore my new favorite SciFi ship. Cheers strangers on the internet!
Stage 9 was the reason I decided to get into game design and development. I wanted to be able to recreate my childhood daydreams of being on a starship as well and I’m having a blast learning how to do it. Stage 9 shutting down was a big blow to my enthusiasm of what other developers are accomplishing and what I was striving for. Seeing this has made me realize that this genre is still possible and there’s an infinite amount of possibilities a clever developer can explore that no other game has touched on. I’m excited to explore this project.
Don't give up, we always need talented and motivated world builders. We're truly humbled that Stage 9 inspired so many, and we hope this new project will do the same.
Hello! Se7en from Discord here. Wish you guys the best. If I was a show creator I would be impressed and flattered by this dedication. This looks so expertly done and takes nothing away from my appreciation of the original writers and producers of The Orville. Keep up the good work as long as you can.
Brilliant!! This is going to be fantastic. I still wish CBS would reconsider allowing Stage 9 to continue. Have you guys thought about doing one of the NSEA Protector from Galaxy Quest? There were enough different ship interior locations shown in the movie that it would be cool to wander and experience like The Orville.
@@squirtyharry I can't get on Twitter right now, been banned for calling some that equates BABY MURDER to removing a defective organ a retard, that's Twitter for you, kill all the unborn babies but don't you dare call anyone a bad name.
I am still gutted that the previous project was crushed by CBS and heard that people connected to The Orville already seem supportive over this project and hope that continues. This looks like another amazing job that your guys have done and can't wait to get on board!
I spent hours in Stage 9. The beloved Enterprise D was a sight to behold and what happened was a tragedy. So pleased you are back with this new project and holy crap, it looks brilliant. As a new viewer to The Orville - I'm about half way into the first season and already love it - I'll be seeing many parts of the ship for the first time in your recreation. Can't wait!
Omg !!! I love this. Seth help them out, I love the Orville. Me and my husband watch it together all the time, even the reruns lol. Me for the comedy and him for the drama. Hands down, One of the best shows out there today.
Bravo! Brought to you by the same people who did the Virtual Reality Enterprise-D from Star Trek TNG (who the asshats at Greed BS shut down) they have now brought to you the Orville interactive experience. This marks another giant middle finger to CBS and their draconian attitude towards fan work.
OMG this is gorgeous! You guys have done an outstanding job. Wow, this is just brilliant! I can't wait to follow your future updates and try this out for myself.
Holy crap! I was hoping someone would make a game for The Orville. If you guys can get this out for PS4, I'll buy it on day 1. I love the amount of detail you guys have put into this. Wish you all the best.
Been enjoying the show since its debut! super hyped for the next season but this fan project may just fill the void until it arrives, this looks amazing!
That is simply amazing. The builder talent behind this creation is highly impressive to have already made this a reality and to impeccable perfection in every detail. The only thing that doesn't look right, and I'm going to assume was a guess (unless there is information or images saying it isn't), is the overly tall spiral staircase at the back of the ship. Seems very impractical for such a futuristic starship when cargo elevators would be better and faster. Nonetheless, this is such a fantastic idea and congrats on it. Looking forward to personally exploring the vessel. Love that ending too. BTW, whoever did the narration really reminds me of David Lanco, who did the voice for Rattus on the hilarious "Horrible Histories" British comedy TV series.
When CBS axed all of your great work on Stage 9, I wrote them off entirely. But not you. This is excellent. It is a tribute to the great work Seth and his crew are doing, and I hope Fox realizes that this supports their show and drives more fan interest. There is a reason I bought the Orville DVDs this year while refusing to stream Star Trek or otherwise give another penny to CBS as long as they treat creative fans as enemies rather than ambassadors. My greatest regret regarding Stage 9 is that I never got a copy of it, because I was waiting for the next update. I watched every video you produced with great interest and anticipation. I was super psyched to hear the full music cues and explore all the wonderful details that you filled in. Star Trek is dead. CBS killed it. Thank goodness you and your crew are keeping its positive spirit and humor alive here on the USS Orville. LLAP...and beware the banana!
it was my primary reason for buying a VR headset (and building the gaming machine to run it, the chance to finally walk the halls and stand on the bridge
See, this is how you deal with a bad break-up. You move on with dignity, keep your head up, and find a new partner whose better qualities show your ex just what they lost when they cut you loose. To live well is the best revenge.
OMG!!! 😍 You guys are incredible! I can't wait to see more! I was so upset 😭 when CBS was stupid enough to shutdown the Enterprise D project! I still wish I had gotten a copy before it was shut down. It was beautiful and now The Orville looks just great so far!
AMAZING!! And a brilliant announcement video. Maybe the end of the previous project was a blessing in disguise. This looks like it will be far better, and FAR more fun! (Just like the TV shows... ahem)
It might be nice, to be able to set a few shipwide scenarios, for instance, if you wanted to see the shuttle bay without attacking Kalons. Maybe, there could be a Krill or Moclan shuttle there, depending on the scenario you select. Maybe, you could set the Orville to be docked at base, or next to the comet, like in the trailer. It might be nice to see each room, in multiple organic scenarios. You could have the classroom be empty, have classes, have different teachers, different classes & different students. The recreation/bar area could have normal dining, party mode, empty, or a low density mode. etc. A little AI operation might be a nice touch, too. Just some suggestions. I would like to commend you guys, though. That is one of the most advanced fan simulations I've ever seen. Thanks.
Dude this is awesome! I love the Orville that came "to the rescue" after CBS went ahead with their STD and I wouldn't be surprised if Seth himself shares this from time to time on social media etc.
This is incredibly! It would be awesome if you could actually fly to star systems with your friends and actually live on the ship with real life type experienced. Missions, exploring the ship while it's in flight, seeing other planets and stars, piloting the ship, fights and wars, and much more. All within the VR environment.
So Glad to see you guys back at it again! I still jump into my Stage 9 Ship from time to time, and am so HAPPY to get to jump into the Orville now. TY so Much for this!
Wow, very impressive in scale. Almost suspiciously comprehensive. Character likeness is important of course but the one aspect I think could lift it all is realtime raytracing. Departing the matte fakery of the past and stepping into the glorious future, you might say
Only one of us has an RTX card right now (it isn't me sadly :( ), but yes Unreal Engine 4.22 already has Realtime Raytracing support and it's something we will be doing when the market is more flush with cheaper RTX cards.
I absolutely cannot wait to get my hands on this asap! I'd honestly imagine Seth would be quite more eager to let this happen than CBS since he has been a fan since the earlier Star Trek shows.
I've Seen: Kermit the frog, A Jar of Pickles, A Model scale of The Orville, A Starbucks Coffee Cup, A Cellphone, The fly by shuttle, The 📷 bounces off the window and Isaac with the Mister potato head pieces on his face. Oh there was a Ensign staring out the same spot Isaac was in the briefing room and looking at a star 🌟 (Which could be the same one they made for the whole world is a birthday 🎂) and the pew corner.
Congratulations! This will surely be a successful run. Looking forward to the first release especially now I have a more capable hardware. If this will have a character creation option with beard and everything, I'll be very happy.
Love the way this looks! Never been an Orville fan but I have to try this. Makes me sad that Stage 9 will never be a thing, but this will do. Thanks guys. :D
