Now this is one we had been looking forward to for a looong time - the Osaka Derby, Gamba vs Cerezo - perhaps the most heated and tense fixture in Japanese football.
Gamba - playing at home at the Suita Panasonic Stadium here - have been stuck near the bottom of the league all season, and desperately needed to pick up some points against their biggest rivals, but with J League legend Shinji Kagawa turning out for the Sakura it didn't look easy...
Great game though and a fun trip for us! Absolute banger of a stadium and the atmosphere was electric, with awesome fans as well. Love it.
Hopefully next time we'll get to check out the Cerezo stadium too.
