We could easily have two more teams from compelling outfits. This isn't 2010, these groups are from worldwide organisations with notable motorsporting credentials. Any posturing from the teams is only going to cause fan backlash, which is NOT something that FOM wants after embracing the fandom.

We could easily see 3 works manufacturers join the grid in the next 5 years. Ford with RedBull, Porsche with Williams, Andretti with GM and Honda being Honda. Mercedes is one of Aston Martin's (road car company) biggest share holders (20%, according to Reuters). Mercedes AMG engines power the road cars. This is the trouble Andretti Cadillac (and Panthera) have. Realistically you can only get 2, maybe 3 more teams in, and F1 would much rather those be full works from Ford, Porsche, Hyundai or Honda (although I’d be inclined to refuse Honda for being too fickle). F1 would be wise to get all the offers on the table first and then decide. But I would say that refusing Andretti now would be a bad look, even if a works Ford team would be worth more

Not entirely true; Michael Andretti is infamous in the F1 paddock for being conspiratorial, lazy and confrontational. In his brief stint driving for Mclaren he was as much fired for refusing to put in enough effort to his job and concocting theories the team was deliberately sabotaging him as he was chronically underperforming. (Counting for the races he missed Senna outscored him 6 points to every 1 and over the season total it was 10 to 1 and Andretti crashed out of the first four races in succession.) I'd certainly hope he's grown up a bit since then but he's definitely not well liked by those that still remember that.

I think it’s great F1 is expanding and the Andretti name should be in F1. Saying that, F1 really needs to fix the two tier system ASAP. There should not be such a clear line between the top three teams and the rest. This is a really big problem. Alonso winning a race in an Aston Martin shouldn’t be a crazy thought. Or part of a 23 year plan.

@@houseking9211 the cost cap isn’t the issue. To be honest it doesn’t solve anything as they all have loopholes and the bigger teams gonna spend. If they actually want to control costs they would regulate the equipment everyone uses. For example everyone uses the same spec wind tunnel and computer tech. Limit the amount of people that work on the car. For example the teams can’t have more than 200 people working on the car etc. I mean it’s crazy that a team like Haas has 200 people and Mercedes has 900 and they are competing in the same field. It’s like a soccer game where one team has 11 players and the other 60, now let’s guess who wins. Hence why they've been more open to existing teams receiving additional investment and involvement rather than creating entirely new teams. A monster ground effect (spec on this part + max lift to drag aero regulation), good looking car could surf in this hype and try to grow into something more popular. Maybe some spec hybrid with 500hp to fit combustion engines around this 500hp as well could keep costs reasonable (BoP and homologations as part of this so people don't need to build new cars every year). Keep as endurance race only Le Mans 24.

In my opinion my votes would be 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶 (I am bias, but also think they would be a by far better team to represent the US in F1), 𝗛𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵 (I think their history with the feeder series would be great to have on the F1 grid) and/or 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗮 (would love to have an Asian team on the grid).
