I'm sure she isn't whining about his money, though. Chickie ain't hurtin' for nothin'. Probably never will either. And just for the record, Flea kicks ass. Having a middle-aged dad who's cooler than you'll ever be is probably always a bit embarrassing :)
She's a Virgo, he's a Libra. Rather you believe in astrology or not, it's no doubt you can see that the characteristics are evident here. She's more in depth, down to earth and feminine and he's more cerebral, mental, masculine
That's how my parents always were with me. They never talked down to me. If they told me not to do something and I said "Why?" they'd explain it to me. I'm not a parent, yet. But I'm a teacher, and I've worked with kids of a wide range of age levels and I carried that with me. Kids are actually really smart, or at least smarter than you'd think. Like he says "never underestimate."
Kyle Decker to add to what you're saying....i definitely remember hearing my mom talk on the phone with friends or interact with other adults etc and comparing it to how she spoke to me. I remember saying to both of my parents, "talk to me like you talk to ____." For the record, I have excellent parents haha
I remember seeing Clara in a bath tub when she was a baby, Flea kneeling before the tub and washing her. She tried to brush off a tattoo of Flea's arm. That made me laugh.
as a teenage dad myself, and an ex-punker, this is the most on-target thing I've ever seen. A) she's beautiful and intelligent and so very smart and b) Flea is clearly an amazing Dad. And you can't downplay an amazing dad!
also - anthony is her godfather. she said it in an interview once. he also is the person who gave her her first camera (she's a professional photographer now)
I remember in the 90’s whenever Flea mentioned his daughter in interviews, he got this glow in his eyes. He really love his daughter, and it’s touching to see that they still got this special bond.
I'm glad too know that I told my son to follow this band with his own musical personalities growing, watching this has made me feel like I'm on the rite path of being his mom and his dad at times,, we LOVE the Peppers and thank them for there influence they have on my son as he grows into a man. Music really holds the key to our soul.....ROCK ON!!!!!
Anthony is her godfather. She was born in 88 - at a time when Flea did not know John that well. John dedicated his first solo album to her - but he isn't her godfather. Clara said herself in an interview that Anthony is her godfather - and that he gave her her first camera. She's now a professional photographer
Flea's pad is something straight outta Los Angeles magazine. Very L.A., well-deserved though, he's got great taste, for instance that hifi system in the background is top of the line, seriously hi-tech at about 20 grand alone I'd say.
ya know..ya just never know about people sometime. with all of his antics and frenetic personality, you can can really tell Flea loves being a Father. When he wells up and talks about how fatherhood bringing him life, I believe every grateful word comin outta his mouth. I'm not a chick that easily cries but his raw humanity touched me. As a fan I am so happy and proud for him. Way to go Flea and Clara. The father/daughter relationship looks good on you two.
As crazy as Flea is and with all the shit they went through as a band, he is clearly a great father. Clara is so genuine even though she was raised by a rockstar dad and Flea has always been the same way.
I could say the same about you. Look, I don't know why you're hating on me. But if you want to. go ahead. It doesn't bother me. Because I know I'm expressing my appreciation for Flea. :)
Amazing dads are very few in number. Why do men suck on average at parenting compared to women. Give me five decent parents who are mom's I can show you half a dad to match.
If you watched John Frusciante's "Rock Bottom" junkie interview, he mentioned about Clara. "My record is dedicated to Clara (Flea’s Daughter)." I found that really amazing.
He was also absent for most of her childhood, being on tour for most days of the year. Yes, I'm aware he brought her along alot of times, but he couldn't have done that all the time, she had to go to school and stuff. Her mum must have been picking up the slack. And of course, being rich helps. She must have had babysitters and drivers and stuff for most of her life.
