@ long story short, GX had issues with pay/workload and whatnot that caused many members of GVG to end up migrating to this channel (you can easily search it up so I won't go into detail here.) So I would wager a sizable chunk of current GVG viewers came from GameXplain and followed the GVG crew here.

Never thought it sucked, but NSMB is defineteley more fun for me

I used to think the game was fun when it was out. But going back to it, the game got bored on me really quickly. It's not an bad game by any means. But it's far from good. I rather play NSMB or the new Princess Peach Showtime over this.

@@jaretco6423 Tbh, I've played through it 4 times. I still like it. "Far from good" is a stretch, I think at the very least it's good.

Personally, I preferred NSMB, but I agree. SPP was a fun enough game if I just wanted a chill game.

Games media had to pretend to not like this game because it’s not feminist enough, how dare Nintendo finally give the damsel in distress her own game but the main mechanic was built around her losing control of her emotions. Sure it’s big perfect or even special, the level design is a little basic but the sprite work is great and was a fun foundation to refine in sequels.

I all agree with what you said, except I really don't get the complaints about the Toad searches being part of the main objective completion, when it was clear at the "tutorial stages" that we needed to find them. It's possible they just allow us to get to each stages's end with some missing to save progress, while requiring us to finish the stage to do it.

@@zjzr08 Yeah but I think that basically requring 100% completion to beat the game is not that good in any game, if it required a specific amount of Toad's for the final boss and all of them of some bonus level or secret boss it would be much better, similar to how Kirby treats its collectibles.

@elegant_lilligant I guess I just didn't see rescuing Toads as 100% (and we still have things like the puzzle pieces and note boxes to collect and also buying all powerups) and was just the "right thing to do" hehe - admittedly it feels natural to follow the Toads IMO (that upper right indicator feels incomplete if some are missing) and I also don't speedrun platformers (even Sonic ironically enough) that the fun for me is finding nonlinear areas.

Pretty much agree with a lot of this because he goes ‘How do you feel about the game?’ ‘Hate. Well, not really hate…’ T-then why say such a strong word at first and then immediately backpedal milliseconds after?

I agree, the review feels contrived. I was surprised it didn't also echo the usual bad takes that are common, politically.

Fun is subjective. I played through it a couple of months ago and found it boring even when I finished the game. To each their own and that's okay.

Well, that’s only the demo, I’d say it’s unfair to jump to that conclusion based on only playing a small slice of the new game. All in all, I’m sure both games can coexist. This video is creating a rift between fans of the old game and fans who are excited for the new game, and I’m not really of fan of that.

@@gabrielgoes0 I mean, yeah the demo was kind of short, I get that. The trailers show that there was a lot more beyond just those two levels in the demo. I personally don’t think it was soulless. I enjoyed my time with it and I’m waiting for my preorder to come in. If it wasn’t your thing, that’s alright, but I think calling it soulless without experiencing the full extent feels disingenuous.

@@ivanzoneBR The minigames in MP9 are some of the best in the entire franchise and I think the car mechanic wouldn't have been so egregious if it was only in MP9 but they brought it back for MP10 so I understand why some people are negative about MP9 to an extent, of course.

I had to buy it at a convention. It's a lot of fun to me. It's cute, crazy, and I really liked the music myself. Not ground-breaking but I think i suits the game.

Man, how deaf is he is to think the game ost is bad??? The ost is so cool and I love the Volcano theme too, but most importantly it is diverse, I heard the Princess Peach Showtime Ost and for what I gathered basically every level song utilizes the same melody but just with different instruments and chord progression kinda like Yoshi's New Island.

Yeah, something about this review just feels off. Of course someone’s allowed to have a bad time with a game and just because the channel is called Good Vibes Gaming doesn’t mean a review can’t be negative… It just feels like this review went in expecting to dislike the game. I liked this game as a kid and I don’t know if it holds up well, but it feels like this video was never intended to honestly find out. It feels more like there was a clickable title in mind that the video was built around.

​@@PoliMaster64First I didn't grew up with the game, I first played when I was entering my adulthood about 7 years ago, second Super Princess Peach isn't completely easy, It has a lot tough parts in it, specially with the Big Chomps and agressive enemies like Cheeps, Boos and Lakitus that come to you super fast and destroy you, plus the large number of bottomless holes, meanwhile Princess Peach Showtime is completely more easy, It gives you no punishment for losing all your hearts, instead of having to start a level from the beginning, it just spawns you a couple meters back to where you lost, plus the game isn't even creative, its just a mix and match of standard movie tropes with a villain that looks like Balan Wonderworld, I prefer a game that feels like a love letter to Yoshi's Island and feels fresh and familiar to the Mario world than a game that goes for style over substance that feels alien to the series in the worst way possible, so now that I broke your arguments, do me a favor and stop being a dick, because your points were laughable.

I can already tell you haven't played the new game, that's very shallow to jump to conclusions on a game you are not very familiar with so why compare the two when you know nothing of it, bud.

​@@LiamRoysonI played the demo and watched the full game playthrough on the BeardBear channel and after all of this I still think it isn't very good, nothing on that game wowed me. The level-design is very bare-bones, specially with those garbage sub-areas Peach descends to, the transformations are very brain-dead simple and get boring really quick and the characters are super generic, both the theets and the sour bunch. In my eyes, there is no way Princess Peach Showtime is better than Super Princess Peach.

They reuse original assets. As Brandon said these assets are from other mario games entirely. Plus you can't even say this game had more effort than any new super marios bros games because the first 2 were very original and unique for the time. They became less inspired because they released 4 within a few years of each other but the quality and great level design is still there. It's such a subjective comparison.

@@ShurikanBlade But none of the assets in Super Princess Peach are from other games. Some of the designs clearly take inspiration from Superstar Saga and Yoshi's Island, but nothing is outright ported.
