I agree with Stellarsphere being Starkiller Base. In addition to your points, the inclusion of Stellar in it's title points towards the use of a star as the energy for it's super hyperspace laser thing.
Which (while I agree it's consistent and I'm not arguing with you or +Star Wars Explained at all) completely defeats the object of having code names at all. This is a mistake the Germans made in the second world war, for example referring to their long-range radar system as "Heimdall" (the far-seeing Norse God) and to a different radar system as Wotan. From Wikipedia: "Knowing that the god Wotan had only one eye, R. V. Jones, a British scientist working for Air Intelligence of the British Air Ministry and SIS inferred that the device used a single beam and from that determined, correctly, how it must work. A counter-system was quickly created which made Wotan useless." The main point being that if your code name includes ANY clues whatsoever as to the purpose of a project or mission, it is a bad code name...
I believe that Starkiller base was built by the empire and hidden in the unknown regions of space after the empire fell. And the first order completed the project.
While that is your opinion, The Star Forge and The Death Star were two completely separate things. The Star Forge used the power of a nearby star and the force to mass produce ships, and the Death Star destroyed planets
No they weren’t. Star Forge and Death Star are two massive space stations built by bad guys for military purposes of their evil empire’s galactic conquest. BioWare just TRIED to be more original and instead making it shoot laser, it produces spaceships that shoot lasers. Which is the classic, almost textbook, example of failing at “original writing”. They didn’t really have any original idea for plot, so They took idea of Death Star and made something that serves exactly the opposite function to it. And yes. Starkiller base is just Death Star mark III. Which makes sense. Empire made two similar projects and while making them they’ve just up-scaled the project to planet-sized machine. Same theme, slightly different panache.
Having Bad Batch shed light on War Mantle, what if Mark Omega is a literal reference to Omega? If she is force sensitive, maybe Mark Omega is an operation for creating force sensitive clones for Palpatine to use later/snoke/Grogu being tested on.
Terror and genocide ? Jen needs to take off the tin foil hat. Everyone knows that Cluster Prism was the Empire's plans to build a new waterpark on Tatooine and Mark Omega was the Emperor's initiative to give everyone in the Galaxy a free phone. Why does everything have to be a conspiracy theory Jen ? Such a drama queen !
thanks! I was thinking if the empire could build the weapon on yavin 4 secretly, they could have destroyed all life on yavin, and destroy endor by firing
That's certainly a fair idea for what it could be. Personally, I hear the name and think of something to do with cloaking technology, it brings to mind stygium crystals and bending and refraction of light
Cluster Prism i think would be most probably a Sun Crusher reference - he can destroy entire cluster of planet in one shot into sun, and is protected by crystallic-quantum armor which is prismatic to normal, human eyes.
The Starkiller Base references makes the most sense. It would be consistent with the new canon in a subtle way. I also think the Empire knows of Old Republic/Old Sith Empire tech, like the temple on Malachor. What if Snoke is remaking a Star Forge type of factory? You know to rebuild his armies.
Wait a minute... Mark Omega... Last Target... Remember TFA? Luke was the last target for the First Order and Snoke, and the actor of Luke... Yup, MARK Hamill!
I actually instantly thought of Starkiller Base being "War Mantle". I assumed it referencing to the mantle of the planet; the layer between the crust and the core. They called it War Mantle because they converted a planet into a weapon of war? To me that one just makes the most sense. And in that case, Stellar Sphere might be Death Star II because "stellar" as in "star", and sphere because it's spherical? (SPHERICAL!)
@@falibordic6091 Oh yeah, I know that now and I vaguely remember writing this comment and can't believe it was 4 years ago. I guess I was just looking for too much logic in the names. I know they're meant to be secret, but I usually expect everything to make sense.
"Ripping apart the crust to get to what's below." I swear when he said that I had just started ripping apart a stuffed pizza crust....and it was good. Also the Pax Aurora name meaning is awesome. Good job once again.
I seriously doubt "Black Saber" refers to the Mandalorian Darksaber as it is an artifact and a weapon that is not "super", but whose power is mostly symbolic. Plus, K2 specifies that the files they are looking at are for "structural engineering." Personally I like to believe that Black Saber refers to the Eclipse-class Super Star Destroyer.
That makes sense. But we could speculate on the importance of the black saber, being that it had some cameos on the clone wars as being something worth looking into. I agree that it’s most likely some sort of ship or other WMD, but they put Easter eggs in movies for a reason and they know it’s what keeps bringing the fans back for more.
"Stellar Sphere" kind of makes me think of the Worldcrafts in Legends, one of which becomes the short-lived Death Star III. It would be like Tarkin to see to it that more planetoid space stations follow the creation of his favorite toy without delay.
What if Mark Omega was their plan for a last-ditch spite weapon? Maybe a way of using the supermassive black hole at the centre of the galaxy if the Empire lost.
To everyone saying there two different factions remember this. During Kylo Rens Rey interogation he states that they "Already have several pieces of the map recovered from archives of the empire" it's not crazy to think they also came across this. Don't forget even though scariff was destroyed a group as resourceful as the empire probably had backups archived. The data tapes likely served as the original data so the empire likely destroyed it to prevent the rebels leaking further information. As for the first order. We'll there imperials anyway so they would've had access.
So "disappointed" (if you will), that the secrety secret imp projects didn't consist of a project, "Eclipse"! There is still hope though, as it could have been under another alias when in its prototype phase but ehhh not too optimistic
Christian Gonzalez So there was a failed military operation AND a bar that BOTH were called The Bay of Pigs? The whole point of using code names is to throw people off. I mean shit man, Project Icarus is so vague that it could have something to do with aerospace, or it could be someone's recipe for cinnamon toast lmao
Hey, apparently "Hyperdrive Tracking" was something hidden on scarif mentioned in rogue one...that is utilized in The Last Jedi. It doesn't really sound like a superweapon but its powerful.
Hyperspace would also be useful for putting the entire Death Star into Hyperspace. For something that big, it would take a great deal of research for such a big hyperdrive and engines to move a 100-mile wide spherical starship through space.
Cluster Prism could be a coded reference based on the idea of the Prism- the Jedi's top secret prison hidden in the far reaches of Empire space. So Cluster Prism could mean a system of Dachau and Auschwitz-like concentration camps hidden in a remote cluster no one travels to. Hidden in a desolate system, it's easier to keep the political arrests, torture methods, and extermination protocols hidden from the unaware civilian population. Based on the staggering amount of slave labor output that the Nazis, Soviets, Chinese, Cubans, and North Koreans have extrapolated from their concentration camps, it would fall under the purview of military secrets since a lot of valuable manufacturing for military supplies can be gained from slave labor.
Mark Omega could also be broken down "Mk omega" as in a final or ultimate version of a weapon. No idea what that might be. Likewise a "Mantle"was a kind of garment akin to a cloak, so "War Mantle" could be a system that adds armour and/or weapons to an existing object, be it a ship, world or perhaps a person.
Breaking down Pax Aurora makes me think of the population pacification that took place on planet Miranda in Serenity that inadvertently created the Reavers. Not only does the name fit, but in Serenity, the chemical introduced into the atmosphere to pacify the people was called "Pax".
They likely are still referring to the Legends darksaber. The Mandalorian darksaber is just that- a lightsaber. Albeit of slightly unconventional design, it's not special otherwise.
well i know omega is an imperial fighter squadron. It could be something to do with training imperial pilots or something with tie fighters. Black saber. Maybe it was a weapon that was going to be used by the royal guards or imperial inquisitors.
Ok, here we go. My POV 2021 Update w/ Mandalorian season 2 and Bad Batch: Stellasphere: I think it was an operation called "ashes something" (I can't remember) War Mantle: It was the name of the operation that we saw in Bad Batch Black Saber: the saber from Mandalore Pax Aurora: (?) Mark Omega: I think it was for Omega from Bad Batch The Cluster Prism: I think it is the planet of Father, Daughter and Son
now since the word cluster means a bunch of similar things positioned closer to together I think that project was to analyzing this kind of prison and making a lot more of them so they can have a prison that was inescapable and perhaps even have all the prisoners fight it out to decide which of them will become agents of the empire. maybe this could even be used to give an origin for people like agent kallus
They could be code names for competing superweapon designs or names for plans to integrate the tech used in the Death Star into other tactical uses, such as a star destroyer with a mini super laser.
Regarding the Mark Omega thing, Mark doesn't necessarily have to mean 'target'. Sometimes when somebody builds something and they improve upon the design, they may use the term 'mark' - or Mk. - to differentiate between the earlier and later versions of it. So if you designed, say, a jet fighter, and your initial designs didn't work, you'd have to make improvements based on what you learned - So the original prototype would be considered the Mark 1 (Mk. I) version, the next model you make would be Mark 2, and so on and so forth - letters can also be substituted in place of numbers. Of course, manufacturers will likely have their own ways of designating models, but that's the basic idea. So if the Empire had a project labeled Mark Omega, it might be the final version of the project, since Omega is the last letter in the Greek alphabet.
Perhaps the Blacksabers were the prototype superlasers and they wanted to use the name Darksaber. But, because the name had been applied to a weapon from the Clone Wars cartoon they changed the name to Blacksaber. Also, since it's now canon that the Death Star superlaser is fueled by Kybar crystals, that would mean that any of the proto-superlasers are almost quite literally giant planet cracking lightsabers. So the name makes sense.
Maybe Cluster prism was the name given to researching how to you clusters of small kyber crystals to focus the Death Stars beams instead of large crystals? You have stated in previous videos that they used small crystals to supplement the lost large ones. Maybe that was the cover name. Prism=glass crystal that refracts light & cluster=group> "Group of Prisms".
While I agree that Black Saber was probably a reference to the Darksaber, from the novel of the same name, I also think that could be a mention to the laser used by General Hux to break down the wall barrier of the Alliance base on the salt fields of the planet Crait, this could also be a reference to the tracking devices used to follow the alliance ships through hyperspace, as the transmitted cuts those the black void of space.
About the Sun Crusher: Someone may have mentioned this already, but there are so many comments & I've read many, but from what I've read I've not seen this theory yet. I agree that these code-names are likely super weapon plans. Although in Legends, or Expanded Universe; many of these were developed at Maw Installation. I think the one this video translates as "Dawn of Peace" is quite possibly the Sun Crusher. Since the weapon causes the star targeted to go supernova & destroy the entire system. This could be seen as the last dawn of the system & thereby creating the peace of annihilation. Well, that's my 2 credits.
"The Empire had plans to build Star Killer Base, and the first order just finished the job" Are we forgetting the fact that the data bank was blown up by the Death Star long before the First Order? If that is Star Killer Base in the plans, it's much more likely that it was built by the empire and taken over by the first order when the empire fell.
Mark could also derived from Markus, which was a given Name in Old Roman Empire. It refers to the Old roman god of War, Mars. So maybe Mark Omega means something like "Last Battle"
Cluster prison Immediately reminds me of where the Death Star and World Devastators and Sun Crusher were designed in Legends. The Maw Cluster is a cluster of Black Holes near the Kessel Spice Mines/Prison... Han lost a number of hull plates off the Millennium Falcon by cutting way too close to the cluster to complete the Kessel Run in only 12 parsecs... But I digress. Inside the Cluster there is a gravitational safe spot where an Imperial think tank of researchers resides. The path in is such a constantly shifting mess that it requires a force user to navigate.
Tho your speculation on War Mantle may be correct. Mantle may mean 'a loose sleeveless cloak or cape.' Which could be in reference to the continent training of the death troopers, or as mantle is used in other genres culmination of responsibilities. It could also refer to cross-spectrum cloaking similar to the technology used in LucasArts Rebel Assault 2, with the cloaked super star destroyers and the TIE Phantom V38.
I think that the Cluster Prism is referring to the Sith Temple from Star Wars Rebels as it was discovered to be an ancient super weapon. I believe this because the temple is a prism shape.
I would have thought of the Black Saber Project more like obtaining the Darksaber and to manufacture more of them. Kinda like synthesizing the Darksaber Crystal into more crystals. And since the Darksaber has a higher frequency it could be stronger than a traditional lightsaber. Who knows maybe the Darksabers are given to the Knights of Ren making it seem more menacing.
also I looked up cluster prism and it turns out there was a thing called the prism in legends which was a 'secret Jedi-run prison facility whose existence was only known to the Jedi Council'. it was made to house 'incredibly dangerous criminals' on the fringe of the galaxy and was made to be inescapable. it was eventually visited by Darth Vader to heal an injured palpatine and who eventually got all the prisoners to fight amongst each other to decide who gets to serve the empire.
Tyler Cherry Black saber is a lightsaber like weapon used by the mandlorians. For example whichever Mandlorian uses it,they are the leader. So I'm assuming based off of rebels, they were trying to 1. Build one, or 2. Find it to get Mandelore under control and get all the mandlorians to join them.
I actually thought Pax Aurora might be a little cross-franchise nod to Serenity of all things, with its "Pax"-something something mind-control drug that the Alliance experimented with. Firefly/Serenity had plenty of nods to Star Wars, after all.
Star Wars Explained, I'm pretty sure "cluster prism" is referring to the monolith surrounding Mortis and the empire was trying to harness its energy. Or it's just a star or another planet with a prism shaped monolith surrounding it to magnify the power being outputted by a star or power being taken in by a planet from its respective star, and I know the monolith surrounding Mortis is an octahedron and not a prism, but that's just kinda what comes to mind when I hear cluster prism. Oh yeah and black sabre is definitely the dark sabre from the clone wars and rebels.
One of the code names, most likely that Pax Aurora, could have been a nod to the Sun Crusher. A ship in the Legendary series capable of destroying a sun.
Blacksaber is probably a reference to the Darksaber that Pri Visla had and used then lost to Darth Maul who then wielded it and still has it according to both the Clone Wars and Rebels shows. At least I hope that it is, and also that we get to see that saber again but in the movies at some point!!!
Cluster Prism. We know of a secret Jedi prison for force sensitives called Prism. We know Darth Vader found it. I think this is the plans to turn those force sensitives imprisoned by the jedi into inquisitors. it fits the Tarkin initiative.
Watching this video again Cluster Prism could have been used to attempt to spread the laser technology from either the Death Stars or Star Killer Base. It could have been a secondary station designed to be idle in space while the laser is targeted at it and then the beams are redirected to the actual target (s) from then. In Theory it could have been used to shoot around the planet Yavin to hit the moon Yavin IV if it was present at the time instead of waiting to go around.
If you're right about the War Mantle using a planet's mantle for destructive capabilities, then I'd imagine that it's referencing Starkiller Base. When I first saw Starkiller base and realised it was a planet, I wondered how they could possibly dig that deep without hitting the mantle. But at the same time, Mantle can mean to "Cloak or Envelope". So perhaps a cloaking device. Perhaps it's not such a stretch to think that they were working on a way of cloaking the Death Star?
the idea of smaller more mobile super lasers makes me think of the Eclipse. and Snoke being in a moblie fortress again make me think we will see the return of the Eclipse
By "mantle" it probably refers to a type of "cloak"... Either an invisibility cloak or shield cloaking stronger than the current shielding technology... possibly, armor material alternatives(like the quantum-crystalline armor used on sun-crusher)...
it probably would have the same affect as the sun killer. I would cause the sun to go super nova and kill an entire solar system. however the death star would also be destroyed seeing as it had a certain range. even the second death star had a limited range as we see when the rebel fleet went from attacking the death star to attacking the Imperial Fleet.
blacksaber could be a reference to the miniaturized death star technology used by the first order on TLJ so maybe they were already planing to make smaller death stars
Had a thought wanted to see if others had it. Galen Erso and frankly Krenic and Tarkin's short sighted vindictive streak may be the reason every canon Imperial super weapon DS1 to Starkiller base dies violently. Basically, Erso's built in weakness in the DS1 wasn't just the thermal exhaust port. That would have been caught if that was all it was, in truth the real weakness was making the entire power management system an all or nothing power inefficient explodes violently if shook rattle trap from first principals. Basically all the super weapons use Erso's design because the Krenic killed the dev team and Tarkin blew up all the research at Scarif base supporting note Chirrut Imwe States "the strongest Stars have hearts of Kyber" Stars which Starkiller base eats to power it beam weapon sugesting it too uses Erso's design principals for lack of any real options DS2 fixed the exhaust port the still dies to a single reactor strike. Starkiller had a single thermal regulator( a couple km's across sure but a planet is huge in comparison) near the surface
Why not the Eclipse for one of em? It'd make sense that back then the Eclipse would still be under construction/being researched, so losing that data could've been a big deal.
Maybe these other super weapons weren't meant to be as big as the Death Star and Starkiller Base. I think they were smaller weapons that were going to be used as alternatives in order to the main super weapons so they don't have to rely on them as much. They weren't trying to base the might of the Empire on only one weapon, imagine if they finished all of these by ANH!
Cluster prism could be Cluster prison There is a prison that holds many of the most dangerous creatures in the galaxy it even holds a few Sith Lords and was used by the Republic during the clone wars
Idk, Stellar Sphere seems fitting for starkiller base, until you realize it could also be War Mantle. I mean, come on; it's a war weapon literally built into a planet's mantle.
Black Saber could be the Executor-Class Star Dreadnoughts. After all the first one was given to a man dressed in black and who carried a saber. Also the shape of the Executor itself is also sword like.
