The Germans has the technical supremacy in many areas but the whole system was designed for projects to compete against each other so few things were able to be mass produced. Plus German scientists were actually recruited into the army. So when projects were given the green light again it took time to track them down. Which led to wasted time.

Yes before someone says it I know that Naverone is on the coast of the Agean sea...but there were more guns at Naverone in real life and the novel was based off of the K5s placed along the English channel

didnt they have a traincar gun that fired rounds the size of a small moped. ive heard of big bertha, the rail gun that shot shells the size of a vw beatle

@@alanmike6883 I liked force 10 from Naverone....but it wasn't historical or based off of anything accurate...but the sequel is the one I saw first...I think it's a great duology. But the first one is better

It’s frontal armour was supposed to be 420mm, it’s side and chassis had supposedly 300mm thick armour.

They tried to make a version of the Schwerer Gustav mounted on treads so the double railway wasn't needed but British air attacks destroyed it before completion.

@@MichaelClark-uw7ex As i said, i'm not sure about the Schwerer Gustav. I do know though, that there were canons which were mounted on railways. I don't know how much comabat they saw though

I mean if the germans knew there was no airplanes or they had a massive advantage that might work but yeh it would be hard to move without modern tech

This "Wunderwaffe" is obsolete in any way. That's why we did not built it. Sitting duck and barely useful- the Fuehrer's wet dream^^

it was able to move at 10 Km/H , bad if you want a giant tank but good if you want alittle fortress, then you can even move it 100 km a day if it moves 10 hours. when it starts the engine the ground was like earthquake.

And there has been the issue: on concrete- perfect, on streets- mediocre, on wet meadows over some tiny hills with some rivers to cross afterwards- Scheissdreck! The 10 kp/h only are true on paper; the Ratte is more likely a stationary bunker than a mobile tank. It never had been able to move even close to a distance of 100 km in a single attempt. Not to mention the required fuel...

if push came to shove they could work like all tanks they don't just get up and go off the assembly line it takes many trail and errors fixes of which the germans didn't have to the war finish up before certain tanks could be developed

Well I mean if the Germans knew the area was devoid of planes or had an overwhelming air advantage the tank could clear out all the other tanks and men

It's the amount of awe we have for such fascinating yet scary tech put into a lot of German engineering. I don't love what they did, but what they built is truly amazing. It's like looking at a real life death star, just not as powerful.

@@gallaieousyehudai12 Yeah, but a lot of these German super weapons were worse than the Death Star, power aside. The Death Star didn't break down constantly. Nor was it too expensive to make or too slow and abandoned by retreating forces. German super weapons also had the same weakness of planes that the Death Star did though. Overall, while mesmerizing, investments into these Super Weapons were a big reason why Germany lost. In fact, the Death Star being scary but ultimately a bad investment was pulled from Nazi Germany's super weapon programs.
