These keep getting better and better. It’s unreal to think that you made this. Not a professional film crew. The colors and light are wonderful and make me feel like I’m there. The music and slow motion parts totally hit the heart. The jokes are top notch. You are hundred percent to blame if I do the pct. These videos are unlike anything on RU-vid. This is like Sundance film festival stuff yet so so real and nice. I don’t know how your heart stays still while editing. I already want to cry and feel like I was there.
@@surfk9836 lol. True lightweight here. I'll need to step up my game. These need to be compiled into one long movie and released at Sundance or similar film festival.
your videos were a big reason I chose to do the PCT instead of the AT this year. My permit is approved and I just bought plane tickets. I'M SO EXCITED.
I'm a simple man. I hear the tip tap notification bell. I tap on the video. I'm humbled by the courage. I admire the tenacity. I immerse in the beauty. I look forward to the killer wink. I smile. I feel good. All week. Thank you ma'am. Stay awesome.
5:10 The part where you had to leave Lucy and Irish. Was probably one of the more sad moments for me. You all started together, but realized that your hikes were growing apart. I kind of wish you had spoken about this a little more as I'm sure it was pretty emotional. They seem to have finished a couple weeks behind you, and I wonder why you felt you need to push faster than they did.
Elina, I truly hope that you get some professional recognition for the work you have done creating these films. The combination of rich and talented story telling and dynamic and impactful cinematography makes these episodes into outright diamonds in the rough that is RU-vid. A few years back in highschool, I bike toured down the Pacific coast of the United States, and had the most profounding experience. When you said in one of your videos that "it is the people", I almost shed a tear. That is the same feeling that I had on my trip, and not a day goes by that I don't think back on the friends that I traveled with. I have done a decent bit of backpacking in my 19 years of life, and watching your films makes me want the feeling I had on my bike trip again. I am now strongly considering a thru hike of the PCT after I graduate from University. The emotion and passion that you convey in these episodes are so tangible that I find myself laughing along with each laugh and smiling with each smile. It is a joy to watch your work, and I hope that you continue making films and telling stories to share with us. It would be a shame if this was the only film work you ever do. Anyway, I have rambled on for far too long, and I don't even know if you will end up reading this. I just want to say thank you for sharing.
Elina your videos truly bring me happiness. I sit at my job dreaming of the day soon to come where I can tag along with my 63 year old father "boffin" on his last third of the AT and develop skills for a PCT thru hike. Thank you for sharing beautiful stories.
Cannot like this video fast enough. Also the rates of 2000 views with 250 likes and ZERO dislikes should really show how awesome these episodes are. Keep on rockin' Tip Tap
Well, what can I say on top of all that has already been said about this series. I am a photographer of over 40 years and a hiker for part of that time, particularly the latter part of that time. I think I enjoy well done hiking videos more than anything on TV or RU-vid and when I find something that is really good, I lock in for the duration. Suffice it to say that I'm locked into this series and I'm not getting unlocked until it's done. I have a good friend who is a Hollywood trained movie maker and this is what he said about this series..., "Yeah, excellent filming, story-telling, editing, and color-correction". I couldn't agree more!
My son was diagnosed Type1 diabetic ya year and a half ago at age 12. We are HUGE hikers and I am so happy to hear that there is a Type1 who got her triple crown. So very inspiring. We document our adventures too. Hurricane Jeffries. I absolutely LOvE your videos. I have been binge watching them for the last few days. Thank you for putting out such great content. Beautiful visually and content.
I'm addicted to RU-vid. There. I said it. I also happen to live 1.4 miles from the PCT here in Big Bear City, CA. I'm hiking the SoCal C section that crosses here from the 10 to the 15 (where the PCT Mickey D's sits) this year. I've watched HOURS of PCT vids, Dixie, Darwin, Second Chance, Red Beard, Follow Bigfoot, Justin, Peter, Calvin: Living vicariously. I have never anticipated ANYONE'S vids so much as I do Elina's . Well done lady.
I have been watching hiking videos for around 4 years now like everyday and have watched some great ones but yours is the only one that i clicked on the notified button so i will not miss a single episode.
Your videos always lift me up. I'd never thought, however, how one could elevate the trail video game so much, but BABY FOOTAGE. OMG! 💜 as always, thanks for sharing, ma'am. It is a nice way to start the week 🍻
this video brings back so many memories.1999 the halfwaypoint was a road to chico.me and my brand new tremily had a 2 day party there. we are still good friends after 20 years.30 mile days where very rare back then with heavy packs and big guidebooks.after 94 days we reached oregon.it wellcomed us with a hailstorm after 3 dry months.and it was pure mosquitohell.ps i shouldnt watch your chlips before work because then i want to go hiking.
Love these videos! “Wow - only half way!” But then... heart starts bleeding - “shit, so this will end eventually” Keep up your great way of telling these stories!
I’m really enjoying your production, narration and delivery of your videos! You show the “little” things that no one shows, I feel like I’m right there with you, fantastic! You have a great eye with the camera!
As a type I diabetic myself, I am SO inspired by Rampage. What a freaking beast!!! It's hard enough to manage your diabetes when you're not traversing 2,650 miles, let alone when you've gotten a triple crown. I was always told as a kid that it'd be impossible to even attempt such a feat, so watching her is a game changer. Does she have a channel or blog where she documents her journey? I'd love to learn her tactics for managing T1D on trail :)
I've followed all the 2020 PCT thru hikers and now I'm sifting through the 2019 class. I intentionally saved your vlogs for last, because I don't really want to watch "professional" hiker/athletes. I prefer the slow poke "grinding/documentary" style of the struggling hikers, because that's about my speed. Also, I heard that you were a photographer/videographer, so I thought I don't want to watch anything too slick and hollywood. However, after watching a few of your vlogs, I am hooked and want more. There is a lot of heart and soul in your storytelling, and your music scoring and production(lighting, composition and sound) quality are amazing. Keep on.
These videos are amazing and the quality is phenomenal! Thank you so much for this awesome series! I am watching an episode every night at 1 or 2 a.m.... can't sleep without it! Your videos are truly inspiring, thank you for sharing and for pushing us towards new hiking adventures!
I love, LoVe, LOVED this chapter! ❤Honestly, all of your videos are exceptional, but this one touched me. Thank you Tip Tap. Keep'm coming. Buffy the Mosquito Slayer
Elina Osborne so good! I just wanted to jump up and sing along. Loving you vids really greet vibe I get from them. Hopefully one day that’ll be me out there 🤙
This episode legit made me cry. Trail family and meeting new people is a HUGE reason for me going out on the PCT. I can’t wait for my year (hopefully 2021!)
Thank you so much for these magical vlogs . You have some serious videographic talent! Sitting in my office, feeling blah in lvl3 lockdown, this was the elixir of life I needed to get me through the next 3 hours of "working form home" (kill-me-now). Arohanu Elina.
WOW for so long I've thought "as a Type One I don;t think I could ever do this, this would be so damn hard" and then BOOM this type one at the end is introduced to us
These cats gotta stop digging up holes, USA Doc need to get a handle on it 😲😉 I sorta wondered how you met up with your *New Tramily* and also hoped I'd see *Torso Boy* on the *mandolin* thingy...amazing!! Mad props too to *Rampage* for her *Triple Crown* achievement, certainly not easy with diet and med needs. As has been mentioned so many times before - the making of these *videos* are of a very *high standard* and worthy of a possible *1-2hr final doc* - I live in hope 🙏 Thanks Elina 👍
I love your videos and have been binging your PCT hike series. Great videos and I’m quite envious. Hiking the PCT has been a dream of mine for years now.
My heart is with you through every chapter. I look forward to these videos, but I also never want them to end! You do such a beautiful job with these. Thank you for sharing them!!!
I’ve tried to film a lot of my hikes and I know how hard it is. These are so good and have earned my views in a crowded PCT market. Thanks for the effort. Also it’s way harder than your great attitude makes it look. Happy trails!
I appreciate this series so much watching it during pandemic. It is inspiring me to plan my own journey.. thank you so much for sharing this beautiful experience.
So cool to watch as you got absorbed into my original PCT tramily. Especially awesome to watch these now that I know a good portion of the crew you are hiking with.
Excellent job of sharing your journey .Beutiful footage and the bar has been set higher with your unique and wonderful way of putting it all on your sleeve in a way for all to understand . Godspeed and peace on your life journey
Just finished rewatching the whole series 🧡 Your music choices are so perfect, these videos bring me so much joy and they give me hope for the future. Someday I will do this, when I’ve saved up enough! The challenge, the people...it’s all electric. So many amazing people to meet and so much wild nature to see 🌿
Tired of California?? THAT’S THE BEST PART OF OUR STATE! But seriously, as a kid who grew up in Chico and went to Lassen Park to go backpacking regularly, I’m so glad you got to see that part of the US. Also, your series is amazing! Love the focus on the people you were with on the trail. Keep it up.
If you are interested in how to eat vegan on the PCT Mary Mansfield hiked it in 2019, also. She has posted a couple of videos on vegan food resupply, where she got them, and where it was more difficult (so she did mail drops in some towns). Also, her videos of her hike show a lot of what she was eating because a lot of people were asking. Her Vlog is excellent, not as "upbeat" and fast paced as Elina's but more of a relaxed (in comparison) journey and takes in more of the breathtaking scenery. Mary is a cheery Brit and she won the hearts (including mine) of her followers. Check out Mary Mansfield RU-vid PCT hike.
I love this whole series so much!!! I can’t help but cry tears of joy by the end of each episode!! I love trail life and your videos so perfectly capture the amazing experience of thru hiking! Thank you for this beautiful documentary you are piecing together 😊
Congrats on passing halfway, no small achievement , watched one of the previous videos where you commented about people not understanding you properly due to the accent, as an Englishman i can understand you perfectly, i will admit there are times when i have trouble understanding certain accents from the differing states, atb for the rest of the bimble Barry
