Fun fact: The original Jekyll and Hyde novel was a lot more of a mystery novel then a horror novel. Doctor Jekyll and Mr. Hyde being the same person was actually a big twist that wasn't revealed until the end of the story.

@@bluewolvesstudios2822 Well, just try to put yourself in Dr Jekyll's shoes. Your a kind and curious scientist trying to help people, but during an attempt on an experiment, you loose all self control, being taken over by your inner id, the selfish and violent side of your personality. Unable to change back until the concoction wears off, yet every morning you wake up to find out that you have committed various heinous crimes while under the concoctions control. In a way it's more of a psychological thriller then horror, but not everyone knows about PT, so horror is a good blanket term.

The scene where Dr. Hyde is shown from bird’s eye view and where the flaming candle falls down brings up thoughts of Christian hell. This is because: They say that hell is like a lake of fire (think of the fiery candle previously mentioned) and Dr. Hyde is evil like the devil, a being they say you’ll meet in hell. Also, just as hell is “down there”, Dr. Hyde is “down there” on the floor below. Do you agree or disagree? Why or why not?

This is, without a doubt, the scariest version of Mr Hyde I've ever seen, even after finally reading the book and seeing other IPs adapting the story. The sinister laugh, *that* jumpscare, the scene with him hanging from the chandelier as he tries to take Horror down with him, he ended up representing the horror genre in the best way possible, even though the original novel could hardly be considered a horror novel. Never found this scene unsettling and scary, but the film itself makes me cry in nostalgia more or less. Hearing the soundtrack in this film is too much for me more so than this Jekyll, Mr. Hyde scene. Feel the same way about EDWARD SCISSORHANDS, THE SNOWMAN, or TOY STORY.

I feel like in the story world stuff like this resets. Like Hyde is eventually Jekyll again, having not drank the potion. But eventually has to drink it again. He didn’t so much as ignore the warnings, as much as how he was bound by the story to drink the potion. The story world resetting, is based on how. When you finish reading a book. You can turn back to page 1 and start rereading it again.
