My math teacher once looked me dead in the eye and said ‘most of the stuff I’m teaching you is pointless and you probably won’t use it later on.’ … You know it’s bad when the teacher can admit that 😭
@@Johanimate poor guys been working for 20+ years and still hasn’t quit 🤦🏼♀️ i honestly thought we’d make him snap, especially because i have borderline dyscalculia 😭
The thing about homework, is that it's original purpose was to be a punishment. A teacher made it as a punishment because his students misbehaved. Meaning if those students behaved in class with that teacher, Homework might've never existed.
I get homework if I don't complete something, or there just isn't enough time. (like when last year the ms made 6th hour like 53 minutes, but now its 47 minutes, so my 6th h teacher always has homework now)
i literally felt like crying at the end of the first day, seeing all my classes, i was so happy during the summer and i wasn't ready to go through the same hell, of waking up at 6:00 everyday disrupting my natural sleep patterns, or seeing the same kids who treat you like you're their dog.
Going to school. The first day is pretty tough because they always mess up and sometimes the bus doesn’t always show up at your house and you have to make sure you get the right classes. Honestly when the first day of school comes it’s like it gets mixed up then after the rest of the year, it gets better. I miss starting school back in September and set up August they make kids go back to school in August instead of September which is not fair and the only thing that’s a lot of hard work is getting school supplies before the first day starts. I’m so glad I’m not in school anymore but I do miss the old days.
Burdie and ggrimey are literally my therapists at this point lol. As an introvert, I am glad to also say "Fuck ice breakers" like geez let me plead the fifth😭
i consider myself lucky that i missed the first 3 days of my school from covid. i fully believe that this is because school is hell every year, but last year i had perfect attendance. the universe rewarded me for that by making me miss school for the first 3 days. Thank you, God.
I graduate this year, and I cannot wait. It feels like I’ve literally been in school forever. An endless loop of waking up early, getting there, getting lectured on shit I don’t need and won’t use ever, hanging out at recess, and because my school is the smallest school ever with nothing to do, it would just be me and my friends hanging and talking, getting lectured again about bullshit, lunch time the same as recess but bigger, lectures again about more bullshit, and then finally home time, getting home late afternoon because the buses timetable sucks and the school doesn’t have buses. I’m just so tired of it, and want it to end faster already. I’ve got about three months, so honestly I just have to wait for freedom.
Yo all facts! You and ggrimey are honestly one of the best modern YTers imo. Literally revised my entire school life summarised. Elementary school was kinda fun here and there but High School was hell for me. It's kinda strange how everyday nothing is changing but looking back, it feels like everything finished quickly. I really wish I can go back in time to the 2010s where life was easier and chill. Keep up the good work Birdie looking forward to your future content :)))
@AzureWolf168 that's also true yeah. But I feel like the system has changed a bit too with the years flying. Since school current day feels different from when i experienced it in my point of view as far as I have seen. But it could be my mindset as you said that's making me think that way.
My first day back was August 9th. So far, a crap ton of people have been getting sick, a district nearby has closed about half of their schools because of the sickness, and there have been at least 2 different fights.
Bro, my first day of classes at my college literally starts tomorrow. I’m happy that you posted this video, Burdie. This video at least helps me know that I’m not alone in any of my thoughts about starting. Great video, Burdie.
The only thing I’m afraid about going back to school is. When the teachers would ask us to introduce are self’s or “tell us 2-3 things you did on summer” this may be a tiny thing for people. But I guess it’s something that I’ll fear each year.
school used to be my savior. I had an abusive stepdad that would beat me whenever he felt like it, and he would make sure that there was blood. It was every week. My only safe space was school and I would wake up at 5 AM just to make sure I can get to school as early as possible, I even signed up for after school activity and weekend extracurricular just to stay away from him as much as possible. Safe to say I was the ‘nerd’ that looked forward to going to school. [edit: I am ok now, I moved to Florida without my mom and stepdad]
This so relatable bro. I just finished my second or third week of being a sophomore and when I came home after the first day, my soul was gone like I was mentally not on earth lol. Keep up the W videos Burdie
8:55 literally was invented as a punishment but then the rulers of school decided "hey this not punishment, make kid do more work instead of having free time!"
In high school when teachers tell us to get a binder to store our "papers" so they don't look like a mess in our backpacks and they they are organized so we don't have to scramble in our folders just to find a specific paper we did 4 months ago. I remember using that binder for probably a few days then afterwards started to just shove my papers in the folde like I rather not carry this much stuff even if I had a locker it was far away from my classes.
going into my senior year, I dont feel stressed or upset about going back (only the waking up part), Im not happy either, Im just in a mood like alright lets do this one last time
Just know the worst feeling is the feeling that thinking your gonna fail. Like I failed last year so I have to constantly remember that time and that my parents will probably kill me if they find out I have a C or lower. This sux because I have ADHD which makes it harder for me to keep a good grade
i can’t be the only one who was excited to go back to school. a new year of new classes and seeing my friends again. of course, that excitement would inevitably wear off within a couple weeks and i’d go back to being bored.
The thing with waking up to an annoying alarm every morning and going through the motions is relatable. I’m in college, and I start school tmr. I just found your channel recently, and I’ve been liking your videos, keep it up! Also good luck to you and anyone going back to school, and I hope y’all have a great semester!
Actually I got really lucky this year with a teacher that makes learning actually fun and makes it cool to go to school. And he used to hate school himself so he only makes us do homework twice a week and gives a spelling test once every couple weeks! (Edit) He also plays video games, and actually make sense!
I had a teacher that would let us go outside for a whole period almost everyday and made school actually fun, I worry that my next teacher will be horrible
I just graduated in May, I'm happy I don't have to ever experience any of this again, but I feel sorry for all of my former classmates who are younger than me who do😢
Burdie, youre not alone! My family does the back to school photos as well, my senior year i was running late to school so we had to do photos when i drove home
I usually look forward to going back to school as it gives me something to do and gets me out of the house, but this year, I was not motivated, idk why, especially since I'm graduating highschool this year. I went back Thursday and it sucked, but as soon Friday came, I was back into the groove. I still want to be done with Highschool, but I want to enjoy it.
Plus, my DND autistic brain treats it like a social battlefield where I have to keep my head down or some stupid kid will have me dragged to the office full of scary counselors for being “too intense” but instead the _teachers_ take it too far
8:18 you too!? I thought i was the only. Btw one time in our picture day they made us pillow cover ( I don't how it is i am from greece) and i have seen a lot of videos like that who say about the bus and i am be like we don't even use buss we just walk.
good luck on ur new year burdie, here r one trick to make school go fast: pretend u are recording with ur phone even when ur not and say the words in ur head it helps me i hope my explanation was understandable english isn’t my first language
I started school two weeks ago, and this video described the entire first day. Also, the advice on joining clubs/sports is rlly good. I joined my schools theater tech club and now i get to use big saws and shit like that.
One of the main reasons I didn't like to go to school( aside of being boring and annoying ) was because most of my classmates made fun of my voice and in exams they kept asking me to tell them the answers, I really hope my new school would be different You know what hurts? My mom keeps telling me that I should love school every time I say anything about my hate for school, studying or things like these, she overreacts like I've sweated
This video was surprisingly relatable. Especially with the pictures on the first day holding up your grade in fingers and how happy the teachers are lol
I’m not going to school since i’m technically homeschooled (but my parents don’t teach me anything, i just learn about things i’m actually interested in at my own pace) But i have been through school in the past, and it sucked. So i understand what y’all are going through-
The best feeling about going back to school is knowing your homie is getting like an extra month of summer break while your ass is gonna be tortured in school
5:06 YOOOOOOOOO my state gets some love for once Nebraska WOOOO Share he doged on Nebraska but considering people forget our existence I’ll take anything lol
It's good when Burdie uploads a new video. It's great you made this video since I'm starting grade 9 (freshman year), my first year of high school in September. I hope my high school experience is better then yours. Keep it up 👍❤
The best part about the syllabus is how it literally changes every 3 days. But man, how did you not have binders? With the little dividers for every subject? Either I'm old or you went to a weird school cos they gave us the shopping list way ahead of time and we just rolled with it
