Yup, that gold and white is what gets me 😂 red and gold looks fine to me! And to each their own, I just prefer punching holes in folks ships with thousand tonne munitions, or launching volleys of thermonuclear warheads, rather than lasers. Great for teasing cats though.
Finally, the “GREATEST “. Glad to see you upgraded from the prehistoric stone throwers to a more civilized/God-fearing option, lol. Great video, Captain.😜
Since you're not a fan of flashlights, I'll throw this out there. Conflagration ammo is the last thing to use against frigs. It has 30% reduced tracking speed. You're working against your tracking speed script. Somebody downthread already mentioned using faction multifreq, but I just wanted to point out why. Other than that, great video!
I have not tried this marauder, however I would prioritize shooting sentinils over turrets as they are approaching, as you can apply perfectly with conflag and scorch. I would consider switching to tracking and multifrequency for shooting at cruisers orbiting at 15km (applies more damage). After reducing sentinil count I would kill the turrets. This is from my experience of running 10/10's. Also not that there is a decent gap between optimal and falloff. You can apply 90% of your dps 40% into your falloff distance, keep this in mind when choosing ammo. Conflag shoots really far out, and ammo switching is almost instant.
I'm a little surprised you don't like the look of Amar ships since a number of them remind me of the ship from the old mid 80s film Flight of the Navigator if you can picture them in more of a silver color scheme for the ships. However I do agree with you regarding Amar ships in using lasers which is one of the most limited weapons in the game regarding the damage type and the heavy need to use cap that I'd prefer to be used for other mods. Also, even though I have used armor fits on rare occasions for brawling fits and that was mostly for a ruppy. I also don't like the reduced speed from armor tanked ships while preferring the speed of minmatar ships when shield tanked.
I love energy turrets when in space that they are useful in. Hybrid turrets suffer from the same drawbacks with damage output. I'd much rather use projectiles over missiles to mix up damage outputs. Also one thing I LOVE to do is put projectiles on amarr ships that don't get energy turrets damage bonus. Projectiles on a prophecy is fun.
The Alpha strikes are still pretty good even with Bastion mode off its just the dps goes down because the fire rate goes down. Also I absolutely despise the Bastion nerf and it literally happened days after I finally trained into to use Marauders.
Hi Cap! I'll give it a shot, have one parked getting some dust, unlucky i lost my high-grade asklepian clone tho.....One more thing: is there a way to join your corp? I'm looking forward to get involved in team play such as Homefront, ratting an J space...tired of solo-playing...
Yup, come join our Discord in the description below and join there!! Good luck with the Paladin, not often we get C5s, but when we do I'm usually first out with a Marauder running sites! Would be nice to have someone purple on D-Scan 😉
faction crystals give better tracking, so at close range multifrequency might do better than conflag on those cruisers. lots of glances and grazes there
Applied DPS generally only applies in PVP not really a factor in PVE just as long as he stays with in his Optimal and Fall Off. All Sleepers have a low SIG radius so they are harder to hit than other PVE activities because they don't have Shields.
@@roboparks There still would be space for smart bombs or drones. I use a sniping paladin for L4 missions and I can micro jump twice and still be able to shoot them down at over 200km.
I love my golem, using it to eat lvl 4 SOE missions alive and sell asteros to my corp mates because the astero is like a drug to us in Eve-scout. That being said I'm endlessly tempted to try out a pali. I have a redeemer from when my career was a bit more violent so i have the skills for the pali but ive never tried it Also, while I don't think it will work very well in wormholes, if you ever wanted to touch on a video about running missions, I would like to see how the thunderchild operates considering that the stormbringer and the skybreaker works so well in other PVE modes.
I've recently switched over to a Leshak tho, still 2500 dps at my skills, with Occult. It has insane damage, the only sacrifice is there's a lot less tank, but you can move around.
@@captainbenzie I actually haven't taken mine into c5's yet but I'm also not sure it could tank one either, The rep bonus from siege is so strong, and lets be honest, you aren't exactly sig tanking in a Battleship lol. I'll message you ig with a link ~Eyez Red
@@shaq3675 to be fair, jokes aside, when you read things like the Frigates of EVE Online and other design works, you learn that all of the Minmatar stuff is functional. It's well engineered to be exactly what's needed and nothing more. You don't need huge curving armour plates over the entire ship, you just put nanite plating on the sensitive areas, then a shield generator to cover it all. I like to think of Minmatar as ships without all the bumf. No extras, function over form 😊
The Kornos at least before the Change was better at PVP. The Vargur is the better choice. The Gleom is just popular because 80% of EVE capsuleers are in love with Jita, Caldari and their shields and their Fire and Forget Missiles so it takes less pilot experience to fly a Caldari ship. LOL Amarr is the King of ARmor and WHs rock in ARmor ships. Armor ships are superior in WHs inless the hole has a effect. Gallente ships are better for low skill PVE and Small Gang PVP (BUT a SHield Fitted Domi or shield Navy Domi rocks and the New Navy Mrym Shield fitted Rocks in PVE but it requires more skill to fly those because of the drone skills and sentray skills besides the weapon skills )
I use a paladin for sov ratting and 10/10 ded escalations, and its fantastic, id be hard pressed to make a golem or vargur do the same things as effortlessly for the rats in my region. Kronos is my favorite marauder for pvp tho :p the dps and close range brawling ability is unmatched
@@captainbenzie Yes! It's the only one that's remotely within my reach at the moment and I want one. If it's at all possible, could you show off doing the drifter with it?
This makes laser wielding armored space catholics proud. Added benefit is you get to ride in gods Bentley, no fecal matter smears on this ship like those uncultured barbarians. Good thing upwell makes stations and not minnmatar, need a tetanus shot just looking at anything they made.
@@captainbenzie in general, mjd is used as a anti gank tool, no? If you see someone on dscan just pressing mjd while aligning is much better than just sitting there...
Arguably not an issue since most people stack their turrets anyways and that's how it does the math. One stack, one chance, multiplying out the damage. Statistically works out the same anyways.
Do you have to keep mentioning your own ship preference each time you fly something you dont like? you clearly like it enough to make a video about it..
Firstly, it's called building a narrative. Secondly, it's a great way to get engagement and comments (like this one, thank you!). Thirdly, getting upset that someone has different preferences is kinda weird.
@@captainbenzie 1st its called feedback. 2nd if your just fishing for views and comments, i guess the first was pointless. 3rd why do you assume i am upset? my comment was in regards to you blabbering on about how you dislike something that you're making a video about. I'd rather call it annoying. I wish you gl with your channel o7
Im sorry the vargur has a thing on a stick that moves forward a bit with some electricity going on.. imo the vargur has the least impressive one of all 4. it is also harder to spot then on ll other marauders as nothing „sticks out“. On golem and kronos you really see from diatance if the marauder is in bastion. Paladins „lung“, you can also spot but that little stick on the vargur is impossible to spot.
Hello guys! I don't like Amarr ships, and so today we're gonna talk about the paladin, btw. I don't like Amarr ships, but this marauder is very powerful even though I don't like Amarr ships... It looks terrible, oh and I almost forgot, I don't like Amarr ships. This is what this video sounds like, and I'm 90 seconds into the video.
Game is so bad. Extremely long and boring travel time, consisting of loading screens and the occasional interdictor gank from which you have basically no way to escape from; yes there are external tools to check for kills in systems but that only makes travelling even more tediou(also someone has to be the first one to die for the tools to warn you ). Pvp basically impossible outside of FW, unless you are multiboxing gate camping or camping wormholes for hours in your 100m cloaky astero to kill a 8m ( sister probes making half the killmail ) t1 explorer ( if you can call any of this "pvp"). PvE is not rewarding at all, you need several hours of it ( with high skill ) to be able to afford a decent ship; lmao to people saying " watch a movie while ratting" if I wanted to watch a movie I wouldn't be playing a game. Exploration has been destroyed by bots, and even if it wasn't it's a repetitive boring activity with huge RNG, not to mention the cargo scanners who make you waste time scanning a site which has mostly been looted. Hauling is a joke unless you got a jump freighter ( and even then, is the payout really worth the risk and the hassle?) New player experience is sisters of eve arc followed by a 2 omega months wait in order to be able to fit a navy ship with t2 modules and loose it to rancer gankers or max skills 10y players. Just stop playing and let it die. The most fun solo gameplay of this game on youtube is a guy camping the perimeter gate with 3 accounts 8 hours a day fighting against loot stealing bots. Lmao
I'm gonna hardcore disagree with you but there are way too many issues to address individually. Plenty you could do to avoid travel, to travel safer, and to engage with the PVP gameplay that you lament a lack of at one point, but mention you keep getting caught by it before. Exploration imho is still great, no idea what you're talking about here. Ratting is engaging and fun (maybe not Hisec/Nullsec but lmao get out of Carebear Land) "Max skills" don't matter. You can max ships quickly, and anything beyond that is unrelated to the ship. Honestly bro, you just sound salty, and that may just mean that EVE Online isn't for you. That's fine, this is not a mass market appeal game, but it sounds like you need to complain about the game less, engage with the game more, look at your own progress rather than blaming veterans (the only advantage they have is knowledge), and maybe try finding a decent corp to fly with. Good luck either way!
