The Pale Horse by Agatha Christie
Dramatisation of the atmospheric murder mystery novel by Agatha Christie, first published in 1961.
dramatised by Michael Bakewell.
Director: Enyd Williams.
A dying woman confesses a terrible secret to her priest along with a cryptic list of nine names. Before he is able to uncover anything more, the priest is struck dead in the fog and the police discover the list in his shoe.
Our hero Mark Easterbrook, a historian, learns of a secretive organisation known as The Pale Horse and of their supernatural connections in the village of Much Deeping. Don't turn this off because of the first 2:30 minutes. It's just the introduction. Keep going. It's a great production for one of Agatha's best.

Yes, the first couple of minutes are absolutely ridiculous (sorry), but then it just goes into the actual story.

You should lose the robot intro. I almost skipped this because I thought it was going to all be like that, like many Librivox.

I am always delighted and grateful when somebody makes the effort to share a radio drama on RU-vid. Good, bad, indifferent, it’s a life enriching option. In this case the preamble might be a bit confusing and might benefit from being less. Brevity is a useful rule of thumb for introductions. But I really wish this endeavour well!

Thank you,but the narrative at the beginning made me think it was an audio book, I fast forwarded it then back to the proper start.

It's still an audiobook! Plays used to be presented as scripts which, in modern times, are called books! An audiobook is simply a play or drama in audio format.
