Hey friends, thanks for watching! :) May I ask a favor? I'd love to hear what other videos/topics you'd like to see from me! I want to make videos about things that resonate with you and are not just hype, so hearing from you would be incredibly helpful. You can DM me on IG @theKevinShen if that's easier. I felt driven to hustle and succeed as an escape and a very necessary escape from a toxic abusive environment. A toxic and abusive family and violent place. I then Had medical issues for years (unfortunately having to deal with the toxic abusive neglectful "family" and environment) and you know... sickess isolates you. You fade into the background of ppl's lives its too inconvenient and ppl do not relate or don't want to really take at face value when you tell them your situation downplaying it to exaggeration. I lived like those for 8 years. FAst forward to now, I am burned out, I know perfectly well I need good people around me. But with this situation it is even worse. Capitalism does not care about pandemics and systems in place made to neglect yourself force you to. I do want meaning full connections above chasing carrots and shinny things. But how the hell to do this?? its like... being on. a vacuum black hole.

For once, my RU-vid algorithm show me something unexpectedly interesting. If the direction you have stated at the end of the video, is the generic direction you are taking this channel. I have an "idea" . 1. The exploration of different types of people (this can be a very varied topic and can be taken in many many directions) and their relationship with having a happy life. Focusing on Social interaction, the first direction i would like to see a compilation on is if there are people who have high social needs vs low social needs and their relationship with having a happy life. This will take a lot of research and it might research that doesn't even exist or you might have to amalgamate a lot of research to draw an inference as a conclusion

It's both sad in the bottom and top for me. My family wants me to be on the top because if I can't then I am just a disappointment to them considering how they are both bread winners of their families, they've got their own success stories so they expect me to be also successful. I was doubtful at first but I didn't think that they would humiliate me in front of their associates for wanting to be just an average joe.

Hello. In my situation was very different growing up. I was born in Puerto Rico, raised in Brooklyn, New York. It was an awful up bringing. I was bullied all my life, and never made friends with anyone. I decided to recreate my life. Completed my educational goals. Graduated from High School. Graduated College. Wrote a few books. Learned how to compose music. Now I compose music for movies, and television. I had a lot of time to get my life together, and when no one wants to be friends it's up to you to create success in your own life. I never thought that being mistreated by society could benefit my life as it has.

I used to be this person-too productive, in a way that I refused to go out of my room for lunch or dinner and be with my family. In the end, I had a misunderstanding with my parents, especially my dad, which later on I realized was something that can be avoidable. Good thing I was let go of that job. Now, I am more free to manage my time despite having a fixed 6am - 3pm job. I am no longer on this hustle pace. I wanted to find a part time job, but a body that fails me is telling me not to. I don't live a high earning life, but so far I have managed to be debt free and survive alone. I live a frugal life to balance work and leisure.

I remember back in 1st year law school, i took EVERYTHING for granted, including my grandfather who was sickly and who could only relate to me (because I belong to a family of professionals and my grandfather was a frustrated lawyer and me and him were the only two who were in the legal profession). One morning he just died and I didn't even spend time with him or my family, they had to guilt trip me into coming to the funeral against my intent on studying for my recitations and exams and I didn't allow myself to rest. Days since he passed, saw him in my dreams, told me to take care of grandma and ever since I made a vow to myself to always give time to others, especially the elderly, and to not take for granted life in general. People kill themselves in caffeine and lack of sleep and brag it on socmed like they are better than everyone else, living lives in comparison to what others outside of postgrad courses are, but I made sure to still bond with my family, laugh and visit friends, do my passions (which are not as great as they used to as stress took its toll on me and burn out as well). People see this law degree or profession as their life, to me, it's just a job now, a stepping stone for opportunity. I stopped letting this law degree define me after my grandfather died and rather let my relationships and peace of mind define me instead. At the end of the day, in my time of death or weakness, it's company i need that's gonna be here and not just some finance or security, before i go away forever. thanks for this vid boss, quality content!

What I've learnt from these productive videos of productive youtubers has really boosted my mental health. I have quit social media and I find that working towards my goal makes me feel much happier than mindlessly browsing social media. However, I'm not saying that being with family and friends isn't fulfilling. It has its place as does work. But to say that family and friends alone can make you feel happy then you are dead wrong. Everyone tends to judge you. You're put on a pedestal each time you are in a family gathering. As someone wise has said, "Every coin has two sides."

I remember in my 20s traveling the world and hustling in business. It was one day when I scaled Mt.Fuji in Japan and made it to the top and looked down at the world. I remember feeling nothing inside and just wished I had someone there to enjoy the view with me. Hustling is great when you are young and I think everyone should do it in they’re lives to see how capable they can be but ultimately dial it back and start investing your time into relationships and hobbies. I have one friend at work in his late 50s and he is a daily reminder of what non stop hustling can do to someone’s life. He works 7 days a week, family is destroyed and I know he regrets some of his decisions. You may want a fancy watch, car, giant house but eventually you realize you are fine with a regular watch, a car doesn’t have to be super expensive to be enjoyable, and you only need a house to be big enough.
@mk0759
@mk0759 11 месяцев назад
Yeah, but his wife was probably never satisfied with a regular watch, car and big enough house. Then she gets all resentful when he's away, working longer hours, stressed and tired every day to earn the cash for all the toys and trinkets 'they' (she) still 'can't be without'. I've seen examples of it too many times to not call it out.

Beautiful video man, really touches on the core of what humans are, and what they need. Currently I am in college and last semester was the most stressful and damaging on me, both physically and mentally, because I pushed myself to study more at the cost of distancing myself from family. Now I realize that this is not a viable and sustainable plan for the future and would much rather, and am much happier being around family more at the cost of grades which ultimately don't mean shit in the long run.

Each person is different I guess. I had a HUGE community of people around me before. I spent entire 3 to 4 days per week being around that community and volunteering. Not really focusing on making money or anything at all. From recently to now, I've realized that all those connections are empty. They lead to no where in life. They don't produce any results that benefit other people...other than their own self to live a "happy life." Now, I've realized that I have to work harder to earn more money. I hate money and buying things. These things don't satisfy. But the reality is, helping other people need a lot of resources. One being money. Especially the non-profit organizations that focus on the 'output' and not trying to sell people their "good deeds". EDIT: important note, whoever says "money is the root of all evil" either doesn't/can't read or just parroting what others said out of utter misrepresentation. The actual verse is *For the love of money is the root of all evil.* Funny how a few words changes the whole meaning of a phrase huh?

This. All of this is great when you're still young, I guess. As you get older though and you realize how broke you still are, there's only so much fun you can have when you don't have any money. Here's the thing though. You're right when you say that money doesn't satisfy. It's not supposed to. What money gives you is opportunities, choices, and the ability to bless and invest in other people. Like it or not, the world is run by money and how well you live in it often depends on what you can afford. Is hustling stressful? Yes. You know what else is stressful? Not being able to pay your bills or handle emergencies. The key is to strike a balance. Work hard, but make sure that you make time for friends and family.

I can understand that many people hate money At the same time, I believe that money is a great tool if used correctly. They say that "money is the root of all evil", but in reality it is the person in possession of the money that decides wether money is evil or not. Money can be spent to finance terrorist attacks, but money can also be spent to save people from dying from hunger. Money is neutral. Money doesn't change people, it only reveals who they truly are.

@CrashManUltra 3 года назад
@@Parzzyval Well I'm doing good. I have only a few friends at this point (that I met online) but they are close friends. I've realized the best way to make true friends is to look for balance. Be a friend to other people; listen to them, remember things about them, try to connect over shared interests and activities. BUT look for people who are willing to reciprocate. Don't throw all your energy at people who only sponge it up but don't give it back. You need to find people who not just a good fit but are also looking for friends too. When you have a fake friend, you can drive yourself crazy about what's going wrong, but when you have a real one, everything just fits into place. Like, when you text someone a lot but they also text you a lot, it feels right.

@@Parzzyval another thing i would say is that if you DO have any people or friends who are just casual and not 'close', don't sweat it. not all relationships are meant to be super tight, so you may as well enjoy things for what they are not and not risk pushing people away by being clingy.

oh my goosh! You put a finger into a big problem of mine, which i'm struggling since a few years. I saw all those 'motivational Videos' where they say you have to work as hard as you can for your 'dreams' and don't let you stop by others. Which shaped me into an serious, sad and intollerante guy. I often was angry to others after watching these videos because 'they are holding me back'. I started to be doggedly about 'my dreams', which i was intentionally searching for. But to be honest i never was happy or satisfied about me. Either i was unsatisfied not doing little things that i have planned to do, like exercising every morning or making every homworks properly, or i was satisfied for little moments when i did everything i planned to do. But i wasn't happy with my life i always felt like in a war against everybody and myself, that if i don't go forward i will be broke and unhappy in future. And i'm 18yrs old doing cycling competitions and learning for school exams. And my goals were to make the best graduation in school and competing a specific race. I won't say that its bad to follow your dreams, rather i say it's important to follow your real dreams. But it's also very very important to be have a good connection to your environment beceause humans are social beings and no lonely fighters. Earlier, people who were selfish and not friendly, they had been thrown out of the group which meant back then they will die. Cheers

Wow, this is a great topic. I just found your channel. I think it's good to hustle as long as there is a limit. If there's particular financial goals to achieve (ie paying off debt, earning a down payment to purchase a home, etc.), it can motivate us to work harder, but problem is this hustle culture seems to have no end. I see that in the work culture these days that people are burned out and overworked because they only get more work when they work harder. So it's good to set boundaries despite working hard. And I also notice people compare how hard they work...it's kind of toxic. Just set your own pace and goals. I'm a hustler too, but when I hear my friend bragging about working 60 hours a week, I actually find it a bit annoying that she seems to glamorize it. Thanks for sharing!

I have personally decided to check how it is to be alone, so I have not contact to anyone out of my friends for about a year, this COVID situation + I had to do some surgery (Was Getting a lot of calls but my phone got quieter and quieter after some time) Pros: * You have tones and tones of time for self improvement. * You can rethink your friendship and rules you have set to yourself * You can think and filter friends by their behavior * You can not be betrayed or disappointed because you got no one to relay on only yourself that you can always teach and improve. Cons: * Finding yourself weak that it’s not that easy to be 100% alone. That hits self esteem and self confidence a lot. * Lacking of insider information that friends would share with you. * Fear about future plans ( that must make you stronger)

It's interesting how it's more likely for people to notice someone exercising too hard and telling them to take a break to not hurt themselves, yet it seems the same principle is not that often applied to your mental burnout

Don't underestimate the damage stress does to your health. I always put everything before my health, I had the best grades, I was an honor student, and now I am paying the consequences. I don't know if I have to take medication for life, or go directly to surgery. Always take care of your health and your connections with people, it is important to be financially well, but (at least for me) as long as money is not a source of stress, it is enough.

Amazing video! Watching this makes me miss casual hugs/bro handshakes that used to be given without a second thought. March 3, 2020 -- when most of us had no idea the pandemic would reach the severity it did. Getting out there and visiting with people has a profound impact on my efficiency in chasing my career dreams (even though I may feel like it takes away from my productive time). Such a relevant reminder during this time of slow recovery.

And watching this video has definitely helped me to keep in mind that as I grow in my brand I should still make time for my loved ones as well. I think a good video idea would be time management or time balancing tips for people that would like to spend more time with their loved ones but fear missing out on something they could have been working on. Or maybe someone who spends to much time with loved ones and can't seem to get to the things they need to do. Also amazing videos and topics thus far, keep it up, you have a new subscriber!

But I just can't shake the feeling, even though I've been told otherwise, that the *ONLY* way to achieve that is to work so hard to the point that you forsake all else, and I just cant do that. This video among others is helping me reverse that mindset.

I like how society is always trying to shape human beeings into the perfect form with no edges nor flaws like yo what if people actually want ton hustle? What if different people actually go trough different life experiences ? Who has acutal control over everything in life? People are spreading the idea that your decisions are only drived by yourself, ignoring the rest, putting an other huge load on the shoulders of those who are already struggling. Now a day people don't get to be shy, skinny, fat, or even hustle, without exposing themselves to remarks from people who doesn't have a clue who they are talking to. How to not fall into anxiety & depression when the world around is trying to crush down what makes yourself who you are ? How many people end up taking their own life in this madness? No matter what you do there is always something you are doing wrong. So why bother ? I tell you what, I think now a day people are actlally trying to fill the void society created in themself by trying to make their way of life the life of other folks, so they can validate the idea that it's """""""the prefectly balanced life"""""""""""". And thus the idea of someone living on a dirrerent path is unconceivable. Good job lying to yourself, right now there are probably hustler enjoying their best life to the fullest. I've seen guatemala kids in person having a bast chasing chicken around, and the amount of joy in the eyes of those people taught me that hapiness realy is a point of view...
