I agree professor was always a dick to her no matter what. Here is a good example she is so loving and kind to him. And he disrespectful and treats her like crap
Still mad about how this show ended. The professor never loved Nicki, he loved the attention she gave him. He only showed “love” for her when she started to move on from him.
The first time she left a man for him, the professor continued to treat her like trash once he got her attention back. I don’t understand how the second time would be any different
Exactly. I mean Stanley crashed her wedding when he saw that she was moving on FOR GOOD. His ego couldn't handle her falling for another man smdh. True enough, Nikki was annoying and over the top sometimes, but she was the only woman who was head over hills in love with that man. And he didn't realize it until it was about to be too late.
This reminds me of the Family Matters episode when Steve finally stood up to Laura because she was being mean and taking her frustrations out on him. Moral of the story: Even the person who is truly in love with you has limits too. Nobody wants to be a doormat.
@@darrenmays928 Well... Steve was not criminally insane. So, there was a difference. I'm glad that FM never did an episode where Steve stole Laura's identity and did all kinds of crazy things using her credit. That would have just been too much like Nikki Parker.
Haha yes omg. Nikki parker was the female version of steve urkel. Steve as well stalked laura and was neighbors with her. He would interrupt her dates and stalk her when she would be on dates with other men. He wouldn't leave her alone. And he never stopped until she was his. And he got with myra to make laura jealous and he didn't love myra at all. He was still in love with laura. And at the end he got the girl. Omg just like Nikki. All those things I mentioned about steve Nikki did on oglevee. Lol.
She literally stalked him, broke into his home, ruined every relationship he had, sexually harrassed him at work and at home, signed contracts on his behalf, etc. If she was a he, and he was a she, what would be your thinking then?
This! It works for a sitcom ending, but in real life, I would never! Sure it was funny watching Nikki relentlessly chase the Professor but in reality, that sh-- would not fly for a second as being perceived as amusing. I wish they had developed her character more in line with a strong, self-assured Black woman who needs no man's attention to value herself. That way, she would have chosen any other worthy man besides Professor Fussy Pants (as I called him lol).
He still treated her like she didn't mean anything even in the last episode up until like 10 minutes before it ended. It was like he realize he's not gonna have her chasing him around and only then he realized "he was in love with her" GIVE ME A BREAK I still cannot watch this show til this day
Idiots... CAUSE SHE MADE HIS LIFE A LIVING HELL IN SCHOOL AND PERSONAL LIFE SINCE EPISODE 1, ESPECIALLY WHEN OTHER WOMEN WERE DATING HIM, SHE FIGHTS THEM Quit making her to be the victim
Yes he was hilarious! I noticed he was one of her co-stars on Two Can Play That Game along with Vivica and Wendy and all the Queens of Comedy were on too.
She literally stalked him, broke into his home, ruined every relationship he had, sexually harrassed him at work and at home, signed contracts on his behalf, etc. If she was a he, and he was a she, what would be your thinking then?
@ Terrence Morrison And despite all of that he “loves” her. He had the best opportunity to get rid of her but chose to ruin her wedding and relationship then wanted to be with her. So all her inappropriate and horrible behaviors didn’t matter to him as he claimed then. He wanted her, his obsessed stalker. This is a horrible relationship their genders don’t matter. She should’ve married the other man.
This is how they should've had Nikki remain throughout the rest of the series. I seriously dislike how they made her character such a pushover. I loved when Andell ( Yvette Wilson, rest in peace ) locked his a s s in the closet to try to stop professor oglevee to stop him from interfering with Nikki and Johnny's wedding. Unfortunately he did though.
Yea that ending was a cop-out. She literally stalked him for years and now he suddenly has feelings for her... what the Hell were they thinking? Were there people who actually pushed for Nikki and the Professor to get together? Idk... I mean yea, I love this show always and always, but that ending when they got married felt like a cop-out.
I never understood why she chased the professor for so long, when she had plenty of opportunities with guys who genuinely liked/loved Johnny, the professor friend who owned the salsa club, even one of Exes was willing to try again.. I just wish Nikki had a revaluation like Kim did with T when she had a crush on him.. Kim moved on, so I had more respect for Kim.. than Nikki.
Yeah that's one thing I liked about Kim. She knew when to move on regarding love. In the episode she was dating a boy named Michael who had a baby girl. But he died on the job. In another episode after that one, she said "When they start dumping you and dying on you, you appreciate the good ones." And even though Stanley and Nikki were not in a relationship, he still was not good to her as a person. Johnny and Kenny were good ones.
Yes mel KIMS FATHER THAT HAD THE GAMBLING PROBLEMS THATS WHY THEY ENDED THE MARRIAGE AND IT DIDN'T WORK AGAIN FOR A SECOND TIME played by the late Thomas mikal Ford aka TOMMY 💯❤️🙏🏾👑
@@JaeLshae30 and he was crazy too. I don't know why he kept calling Nikki psycho. He was more psycho than her. Lol He still remind me of that clown character he did on fresh prince of bel air. Lol
I’ve been saying that since sister sister, as Lisa’s boyfriend and then it was the Parkers....like they really tried to make him to be some GQ type dude...like HEEELLL NO😂😂😂stop it...just stop it, you can NOT tell a lie to this vision, he isn’t it🤣
Yeah, he took advantage of the unconditional love she had for him. He thought because she was so deeply in love with him, he could could treat her like a servant and she was OBLIGATED to cater to him. But what he failed to realize, is that HUMAN BEINGS HAVE FEELINGS, and you can't play with them. And it's important to show gratitude.
@@cj8803 But do you not remember when Stanley politely asked Nikki to stop chasing him because a beautiful, intelligent person like her could get anyone? She didn't want to hear it. Also she did some shady stuff to him throughout the series.
@@cj8803 This is someone's comment I copied from another comment section "She literally stalked him, broke into his home, ruined every relationship he had, sexually harassed him at work and at home, signed contracts on his behalf, etc. If she was a he, and he was a she, what would be your thinking then?"

@ PlayBoi Matrix no, we are going to sit here and ask why after all of the things Nicki did over the years that the professor decided to chase her? She would’ve been out of his life for good if he hasn’t selfishly ruined her wedding. She was happy, being respected and loved by another man but he refused. It’s showing on some level he likes her stalking, inappropriate and bordering on criminal offenses because he liked being the center of attention. He’s one of those who hate when someone who had a crush on them has moved on.
@@itazuranakisu Because if Nikki wasn't an obsessed demanding stalker, THAT WOU'DVE NEVER HAPPENED. She's the ultimate cause of all that, even starting from one episode of Moesha of them getting into Santa Monica, not the Professor!
The gimmick of Nikki’s relationship with the Professor was that she was obsessed with him, he didn’t like her, and that he would eventually come around. That was the whole point of his character. I understand why they made them end up together but it just seemed like a childish decision. This scene was supposed to be like Nikki finally laying her boundaries and him changing to fit those.
@@vanef7508 it's not just guys, women do it too but more, it's basically a game of playing hard to get when knowing you can have that person at ANYTIME you want
he didn't love her. he loved the attention she gave him and the ego boost. i wish the finale had her pick herself and true love over the professor. i wish she turned him down and chose her own happiness after being disrespected/treated as a joke for years.
They should have never ended up together, he didn't want her in the beginning, but she kept STALKING (not courting) him....and she wore him down. It was ridiculous to me.
It didn’t feel like she wore him down. It felt like “if I can’t have you no one can” but less violent. He didn’t want her moving on even though that would be the best for both of them. He still wanted her to like him (but from afar). And when it looked like he wouldn’t get that alternative he went to crash her wedding and romantic relationship. That relationship with the other man would’ve been the best thing for both of them.
Nikki should've married Kenny or Johnny. They both treated her like the queen she is! The professor did nothing but treat Nikki like a doormat and he wouldn't be alive most of the time if it weren't for Nikki always saving him.
@@adrienneflowersscott9290 yes i know it was, but i'm talking about during the show's run, like when nikki was romancing homie with the white spot on his hair they should've had him tell the professor how lucky he was to have her in his life
This ending was whack. The professor didn't love Nikki until she fell in love with another guy. I kinda wish that they could have written the ending a much better way.
Thats how is though in real life ive been guys only get jealous when ur with someone and only want to get with u when ur happy.in other words they want to get their cake and eat it too.
@@quintaviouswilliams161 So true. It happened to me when my husband and I got married. My ex boyfriend wanted to call me and see me. My husband’s ex wife was coming around all of a sudden... and she’s married. 🤦🏾♀️
D Clark Yes but to be fair, Nikki literally stalked him for more than a few seasons and he didn't even like her like that. I feel like they just made him fall in love with Nikki to appease fans of their relationship (Which is a very unhealthy relationship if you look at it. Hilarious, but unhealthy.)
For those saying why it ended with her marrying the professor over Johnny, I have a friend of a friend who worked production on the show and from my recollection, the show was going to get two more seasons, but with Monique and the higher ups not seeing eye to eye, they ended it that season and rushed to throw together an ending.
Damn, even if that's true, anyone could come up a better ending than THAT. All they had to do was cut out the Professor interfering with Nikki's wedding and everyone woulda been happy... everyone except the professor. 😂
@@MrBlackboy21ful Been there done that, never again! It never works out. Runners are only truly running from themselves because they don't know what makes them happy. They are not walking their souls purpose. People don't need to run when they are on the right path.
Here's my thing the professor never really wanted Nikki. She always pursued him. Here they weren't even together in a real relationship. She was helping him out and he let her cause he knew she would do anything for him. He was using Nikki. She didn't have to do anything. I don't like the fact that it took for her to get married to another man for Stanley to finally realize that she was the woman of his life but unfortunately this happens in real life. Someone don't want you unless somebody does and gets you.
Yes there are people like Nikki, the ones who won't take no for an answer. And there are people like Stanley, who only want you when you're with someone else. And that's what people need to realize, this is a common scenario in real life. It's not just tv.
@@cj8803 Yep, I recently ended a 2.5 year chase. This guy was worth "chasing", in my mind. He was the man of my dreams. He treated me just like Oglevee treated Nikki. He was not romantically into me, but he kept coming around because I treated him like a god. I'm thankful for every minute of time he gave me, or that I begged for and received. I eventually got tired of the pain though💚
You guys literally don't understand. Its supposed to be a joke.Thats the punch line.Nikki chasing and professor ignoring.Thats the comedy of it.Its funny to me
EXACTLY!!!! The entire series she stalked him, messed up business opportunities, went through his mail, stole from him, alllllll this shot, but they talking bout "Nikki finally stands up to him".... hahahahahahahaha loloool like wtf yall talking about ?!
@@ricomarcelmusic Thats writting for you, the typical fat girl making a fool outta herself for this man she was right by finally giving him a taste of his own medicine
Well this goes to show you not everything you want is what you need😭but it’s definitely goin teach you a lesson. She wanted this man bad, but he trippin bossing her around like that
I feel like the producers of the Parkers were really tone deaf in regards to the reactions from people in regards to Professor and Nikki. They thought people would be cheering in the end when he chose Nikki. When in reality most people felt as if Nikki should’ve married the other guy.
Exactly the writers thought we would be happy that he finally came around I think they waited way to long for them to get together I think it would have been better if they would have been friends and not the stalking and insults it would have been better
I hate how Nikki ended with up with a man who disrespected her and berated her for 4 seasons straight. He clearly didn’t want her in the first place so why did she bother to “chase” him? She deserved a better man who liked her in the first place.
I mean if you think about she’s dated a few men throughout the series and each time she starts to slowly get over Stanley here his jealous behind comes with some sorry excuse as to why she can’t date and when she thinks he’s doing that because he loves her he flips the script and treats her like dirt. It makes no sense
@chris eh men are like this too. And some of them go for people out of their league and we’re not always talking about looks with “league” then get mad when they get rejected and rant about how it’s a women’s problem or they keep at it where things move into harassment territory or violence occurs towards the woman. Men have less to fear when it comes to violence when it’s a woman who is pursuing him than woman have when it’s a man. Unless of course there’s a side piece or partner involved on either side.
the way this show ends still aggravates me to this day. I wish they had nikki reject him at the end and be happy with a guy who actually loves and appreciates her, and doesn’t toss her around like a beanbag the way the professor did.
Okay gonna be upfront but while the professor wasn't a saint, Nikki isn't innocent either. The guy clearly wasn't interested in her and she pratically stalked him. You would think she would get the hint that he isn't interested after a while but no. Also she did some really creepy things to him. I remember one episode where she dragged him along to stop Kim from getting married and they had to share a hotel bed. Now the professor clearly had pillows set up as a barrier and when Nikki thought he was asleep, she was reaching over to touch him below the belt. That's Quagmire levels of creepy
Life in the Light I agree with everything you said 100 percent. In addition to it I think people have speculated that he was using her for the fact because I think it's the state that when she did all this stuff the audience is left to think why isn't he doing anything about it? Some viewers were left thinking why is he letting her get away with this. As a viewer I was wondering all the time that she stole his keys to his apartment, posed as his wife, and donated blood to him without his consent, why didn't he report this to police. Because it is an invasion of privacy, unless he low-key liked this sort of thing(seriously doubt it). But I can only guess that the main reason why he didn't send her off because of Kim and the fact that she was trying to take care of her. Overall I agree with you; both of them were toxic to eachother so they probably deserved each other; maybe..idk..thank goodness this is only tv and not real life😓
And yet when she was moving on, despite all you listed, he wanted her attention back. He wanted her to be obsessed with him and be the center of her world again. He couldn’t just watch her be happy and be less likely to bother him. Nope he had to ruin her wedding, still acting a mess and then we are suppose to believe it’s love. If that’s the case then all her inappropriate behaviors meant deep down he liked it. Though it’s obvious he wants to be her only crush even when she’s stalking and harassing him otherwise crashing her wedding wouldn’t even occur to him.
I finally rewatched the show and I can’t stand that they ended up together in the end lol. She had that good mad that wanted to treat her right and Stanley felt that he was “settling” for her bc she was a full figured woman. Tf? Lmao
I was so happy that she let him have it. Like others said, she was a pushover when it came to him, she needed to stand up to him. He was taking advantage of her in this episode. Also, like others said, realistically she should've just married Johnny. However, its TV and like others, I was happy too that the Professor realized how much he loved Nikki. It was obvious that he liked her deep down, certain episodes he was there for her. Sometimes it takes people to realize what you have until its about to walk out the door.
This is good, but my personal favorite is when Professor Oglevee pretends to sing for her because he was set to believe that he loves her, and she straight up rejects him because she had boyfriend at the time. I'm still annoyed that she broke up with Kenny too.
Okay, I tuned in for every episode of "The Parkers", back in the day. I enjoyed the show. But, I have to say that Nikki was Dr Frankenstein, to her monster professor. That guy had to endure years of her crazy stalking and schemes. It's not surprising that he became all messed up and broken inside. I'm surprised that she didn't eat his liver, with some fava beans and a bottle of Alizé.
Beauty Shop is one (starring Queen Latifah) and Phat Girlz is another one (starring Mo’Nique). They aren’t chasing after men and the men who are attracted to them are super fine. 😂💗Check the movies out. 😊
I never liked the obsession Nikki had on The Professor. They should've had her be over him for the rest of the series. Or at least let her be over him for a while, have him develop feelings for her, then start to date. It was frustrating to watch
I was really young when this show was on and I was happy when she ended up with the professor. As a grown woman now, I only watch certain episodes because I HATE that she chose him in the end.
I wish she would have stuck with the chef. On top of treating her like trash, using her for sex, a place to stay, and en ego boost....Stanley wasn’t even that damn cute. Lol!
I glad Nikki Stood her Ground The way The Professor was Treating her when She Let him stay with Her when He was Broken and Got Kicked out of his Apartment
Professor, if you ever decide to divorce Nikki, ya betta go into hiding. I think that she has the capacity to kill, if her delusions are shattered. She's craaaaaaaaazy, man!
